Alhamdullilah i accepted Islam, i left 90% of my "social" media. It wasnt good to see so manny subjective opinions about every littel thing. Quran and Sunnah is the way and keep your relationshipd in order and your manners and intentions.

As a Muslim who’s has been following Grayson Journey I sometimes wonder why don’t he just pick God’s side it’s Islam a no brainer the other side is clearly led by the devil .. drinking isn’t Good for you!!! and than I realized it’s not that easy it’s basically a habit and habits die hard for a reason. I encourage him to continue learning about Islam but more immortality learn about Christianity from the Islamic point of view. You want to be good for Allah. Not for anyone else. When it starts to be for someone else, is when you get confused, and caught up, and focusing on the wrong things. But when you consciously do what you're doing only to please Allah, you will feel peace in your heart. We can't please people. We can try, and we will always fail. Because that is not what we are supposed to be doing in the first place. We are only supposed to focus on pleasing our Creator. People can't be pleased, so don't try. Don't worry about it. Don't think about it. Please Allah, and the people who are not pleased with you pleasing Allah, are the ones who are not close to Allah, and don't see the importance and beauty of what you're trying to do for your soul.

One important reason Mohammed (PBUH) is referenced in the Shahada is to confirm that he is a Messenger and a Slave of God. This helps keep the Message uncorrupted so that the Messenger does not get exalted to be God and worshipped, as was the case with Christianity. The Shahada makes it absolutely clear that God is One and the Messenger is the embodiment of the message.
It’s crazy how we’re one ummah, working for the same goals and sharing the same principles as human beings although we speak different languages and were brought up all differently. It just blows my mind how Allah has connected us through Islam. May we never stray away from Allah’s straight path.

Assalamu alaykum brothers. Regarding prophet Mohammad (pbuh), Allah chose him to be the best of prophets and messengers and the last one. Even though that is the case, we make no difference between the prophets, they are all good humble servants of Allah. Mohammad is our prophet (for us and our time), that is one of the reason we put so much emphasis on him. We have more reliable information about him than any other prophet. His character is an example for us muslims to follow. Allah has purified him and predestined for him to act in way that will show us what is the best version of a human looks like. We do not worship Mohamad in any way shape or form. All what we do regarding Mohammad (pbuh) is to follow his lead and pay him the respect that he deserves.
Regarding the shahada, it's important to recoginze the messenger who brought you the message because that is what you're supposed to follow and that is what you're gonna be judged upon. You declaring Mohammad (pbuh) as a messenger, is basically you accepting the message that was sent to you by Allah through prophet Mohammad (pbuh). Worshiping Allah is not only recognizing Him as your Lord but also following His commands.

I'll attempt to jot down my thoughts on the question "why this emphasis on loving and revering Muhammad (peace be upon him)" that Grayson has raised. Firstly, I'd like to get this out of the way: Loving the Prophet is not akin to deifying him, since as Muslims we firmly believe that he was a created being, just as powerless before God and dependent upon God as any other human being. He needed food to eat, water to drink, and air to breathe merely to survive, just like any other mortal. He fell ill on occasion, had his joys and his sorrows, saw old age, was happy at times and angry at times, just like any other mortal man, so the question of deifying him does not even arise. But then, what about the intense love and reverence Muslims have for him? The simple answer is that it's part of human nature that the greater the favor that a person does to you, the more you feel indebted and appreciative of him. Imagine a mother whose toddler child wandered on to the street and was about to be run over by a car and a person, a random stranger, saved the child at the last moment. Can words even describe the immense gratitude that that mother would feel for the person who saved her child's life? How much greater would the mother's gratitude be if in this scenario, the stranger who saved her child's life also got injured himself in the process of saving the child? In the grand scheme of things, the favor of saving a beloved child from certain death pales in comparison to saving one's own soul from being eternally damned to God's punishment and displeasure. And indeed, in this work of conveying to us the message of God, Muhammad (peace be upon him) went through immense personal sacrifice, toil and injury. That's the first reason for being so ardent in his love. The second reason for loving him is the excellence of his character and the traits of nobility and moral virtue that God had conferred upon him. In a world where people can fall in love with an athlete for just attaining excellence in one very narrow area of expertise (which usually is of no objective benefit to humanity in the least), how much greater should our admiration be for someone who exemplified all the virtues under the sun, be it in relation to the creation (such as justice, mercy, forbearance, keeping the ties of kinship, leadership, family life, care for others, generosity, altruism, etc.) or in relation to the Creator (submission, devotion, patience, constant remembrance of God, reliance upon God, being pleased with God's decree, fearing none but God, etc.) The truth is, no Muslim "makes" himself or herself fall in love with the Prophet; rather, it is his excellence in all conceivable human virtues that compels the hearts to love and revere him. This is what I had to say, and Allah knows best.
Verse 56 from Al-Ahzab in Arabic ﴿إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ۚ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا﴾ [ الأحزاب: 56] Inna Allaha wamala-ikatahu yusalloona AAala annabiyyi ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo salloo AAalayhi wasallimoo tasleema Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace.
9:26 The word kaafir originated from the word ”kufr” meaning rejecting the truth despite knowing that it’s truth. Kaafir is a petson who denies or rejects the truth out of arrogance.
The second part of the shahada is very important because it points to which God you're worshiping. Many people claim there's no god but God and that they're worshiping one true god but what god are they really worshiping? When you as a muslim declare that Muhammad (PBUH) is the messenger of God you set yourself aside from the rest of other people by saying that you worship the God of Muhammad (PBUH). That's why the shahada without the second part is not complete.
Converting to Islam is a great sacrifice , but the strong and real love you feel from your Creator will compensate for the abandoned world of illusions

[Quran 2:62 & 5:69] Surely, those who believe, those who are Jewish, the Christians, and the converts; anyone who (1) believes in God, and (2) believes in the Last Day, and (3) leads a righteous life, will receive their recompense from their Lord. They have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.

YOu forgot to tell him the Ayah. وانك لعلى خلق عظيم and The Ayah : قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱللَّهَ فَٱتَّبِعُونِى يُحْبِبْكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ (Say (O Muhammad to mankind): “If you (really) love Allah, then follow me (i.e. Muhammad), Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
The commandments and prohibitions in Islam were revealed by Allah for the good, happiness and safety of human life while living in this world (so that humans live on the right path, are safe and happy) and in the afterlife obtain eternal salvation and happiness. As a Muslim, what is required by Allah is to try well and maximally carry out the commandments and avoid the prohibitions according to human abilities. Allah does not impose any commands or prohibitions on His servants (who believe in Him) beyond the limits of His servants' abilities. Allah is Most Merciful, Most Wise, Most Merciful, Most Forgiving to His servants.
We hope that Allah guides him through your hands. I remembered the story of the Prophet's uncle, who, despite defending him and standing up to the Quraysh who harmed him, died upon disbelief. When his death approached, the Prophet (peace be upon him) came to him and said: "O my uncle, say 'There is no god but Allah,' a word for which I will bear witness for you on the Day of Resurrection." His uncle replied, "If it were not that Quraysh would reproach me, saying that fear of death drove me to it, I would say it to please you. I will not say it, except to make you happy." Then Allah revealed: "Indeed, you do not guide whom you love, but Allah guides whom He wills, and He is most knowing of the rightly guided."

I think Grayson should continue seeking knowledge and pray to God to soften his heart towards Islam. You can only love the prophet (saw) when u delve into the prophets life and acknowledge his actions. Read about the sahaabas and people around hims interactions with the prophet. May be should watch Ertugrul the famous turkish drama series to understand how they followed the prophet's way in their daily lives ie dealings with enemies and family members.
Oh there is distinction of the prophets If you understand the Qur’an. 2:136 means we dont pick and choose to believe in some prophets and deny some of them and 2:253 is clear: there are different ranks for different prophets, just like for all people. Like for different ummahs. 3:111.
Muslims say _Sallallahu Alayhi Wa sallam_ (abbreviation SAW) when Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is mentioned because Allah says in the Quran: "Indeed, Allah showers His blessings upon the Prophet, and His angels pray for him. O believers! Invoke Allah’s blessings upon him, and salute him with worthy greetings of peace." (Quran 33:56)
We obviously must honor and respect God’s chosen Prophets (peace be upon them). They were chosen to receive and deliver the Almighty’s revelations. They struggled and went through more sacrifice than we can imagine.

Others prophet are sent specific for their own race/people but Muhammad S.A.W. is for the whole mankind until end of days...even Isa A.S. came down to earth from heaven to fight Dajjal, he also follows Muhammad teaching. Just think it is as a software update n Muhammad is the FINAL PERFECT UPDATE for it.
نافخ الكير و حامل المسك I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "The similitude of good company and that of bad company is that of the owner of musk and of the one blowing the bellows. The owner of musk would either offer you some free of charge, or you would buy it from him, or you smell its pleasant fragrance; and as for the one who blows the bellows (i.e., the blacksmith), he either burns your clothes or you smell a repugnant smell". [Al- Bukhari and Muslim].
For the Young man struggling with himself in this video: When Islam/revelation came down, for years the muslims of the time were drinking. The order of not drinking came after a long time, when the Muslims were ready mentally and the character had improved. Islam is about evolution not revolution. So go slow, if you have some vices, you don't need to quit hard things over night. You do not need to be perfect. You can consider the fact, that Shaitaan can get you hard through the door of goodness and it is hard to detect. Conclusion: Tried to do whatever easy for you at this stage, stick to Tawheed. Gradually, you will get to the acceptable level, it takes time. You can always ask Allah/God to guide your heart and be sincere about it. Stay away from common traditional muslims from muslim countries. Talk to western convert who are not the salafi type. Avoid the literalists, they have affected muslims' societies. Stick to Quran, it is all about reform the individual overwhelmingly. Islam did not begin with Prophet Muhammad or Jesus or Ibrahim, it started with Adam & Hawa.
There is nothing called perfect Muslim. It's just that you do your best. And you don't give up because you make some mistakes here and there. And this is the case in every role you play in life: son, father, boss, estudent, neighbor, ....every thing. No one is perfect. In Quraan we read: follow the pTh of God "As possible As you can. Another way to say it: take God in consideration and fear him As possible As you can. This is. Written in Quraan.

Honouring Prophet Isa AS and Rasulullah SAW is not worshipping them. The difference between Islam and Christianity is, christian worshipped Isa/Jesus as the son of God. The Quran says God is the only way, BUT it also says to follow the prophets teachings. God commands us to not worship[p, but follow the Prophets teachings as God is the one who taught him. By not accepting Muhammad ﷺ as the messenger, you are pretty much disrespecting Allah because Allah chose him to reveal his message. Without Muhammad ﷺ, there would be no Quran, so if you don't say the second part of the shahada, you are denying the Quran and laws of Islam. You can affirm the other prophets, but you HAVE TO affirm Muhammad as the last and final messenger of Islam. Also its weird that for being a smart young man, he cant understand such a simple concept. You are seeing quran, you have undistorted word of god is because of the sacrifices of prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam( peace be upon him). yeah it's the same message but a preserved one. Without prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam original massage wouldn't have been intact.

these young people need to seek knowledge and stop using assumptions. We have everything they need. Quran & sunnah are both revelations said by Rassul Allah. Quran is literally the word of Allah swt. Sunnah are the saying of the prophet which is : Hikmah "wisdom" , explanations & details said by Rassul Allah Loving Jesus, Muhammed or any other prophet it's because we take them as role models. We take Muhammed as a role model because he is the only prophet that his revelation, teachings, saying, life & death were preserved. Quran was preserved because it's the last revelation until judgement day. There won't be another prophet.. Allah preserved it so Truth remain in our world & people won't have any excuse for wenting astray or staying on falsehood. Quran is "Hudja" on people, until the last day. For his question about why we say" Sala Allah alayhi wa salam" because it's what Allah told us to do in Quran & Sunnah explaination by rassul Allah. Second, Shahada when u tastify The oness of Allah swt and Rassul Allah as his final prophet & messanger. Because he was the messanger who brought the last message & it's still PRESERVED. All other messages were corrupted & lost By accepting Muhammed you affirmed and accept all prophets & all books revealed befre ( that we know about or we do not) It's like saying La Illah ila Allah (oness of God). and Jesus, moses, Muhammed, Abraham, isaac ishmael. (peace be upon them) ..etc All were prophets of The One God. The message was One from Adam (pbuh) "islam" is to submit and obey their Creator. Christianity was named on "Christ" Judaism on Juda or judea and so called "budhism" on budha, hinduism on A geographical area..etc.
Perhaps you should learn more about Prophet Muhammad SAW so you could appreciate the struggles he had to overcome.... And how as a human being, he has lived a remarkable life... Far superior than any other humans has ever achieved. Also in regards to Buddha, etc... You need to learn how the sciences and discipline of hadeeth and its transmission is far more superior than the way those other texts are recorded and kept... Far more superior...
