Debbie Gibson was a big name in 93 and I saw her in this, her Caroline sheen and Olivia are perfect for the role and Craig, if you saw him in the show you know he was perfect as Danny. When I feel low I put this cd on. Never fails to cheer up!
I remember seeing this after it opened and both Debbie Gibson And Craig McLachlan were just fabulous! I always remember Raining on Prom night Debbie's voice was great! I even wanted her wig and costume!

I saw the show in the summer of '94 when I went to England to visit friends. Debbie Gibson wasn't in it anymore. I'm from Hawaii and listened to her in high school since she was popular then. The audience sang along to every song.
Debbie carried the show. Her support (Craig-Danny) was "near perfect in voice" for Debbie to carry the action for a moving performance. The Royals were treated.
Craig is a wonderful singer. I loved this version as well as John Travolta’s. But Craig’s singing is more believable and he has no trouble hitting the high notes. You’re the best Craig!💙🎸🏄♂️💙
Oh, the memories. I loved Deb and this show far too much to be healthy. Did? Still do! It's a guilty pleasure. Shame there's not more footage of the wonderful Sally Ann Triplett as Rizzo. She's the most, to say the least. The very least.

i love Debbie Gibson as Sandy, i think she has one of the best voices in my opion she fab! But why does she have ginger hair here i saw her in the west end and she was blond. I have this cd i saw this exact show in 1993 and loved it. Graig M was really good to.
I think from what I remember she was dark at the time and Craig was blonde so they needed a different colour of hair. (I might be wrong). I loved her wig. I wanted to look exactly like her when I was young
Debbie wore a wig as she had dark brown hair at the time. After watching this performance on Television, she hated how she looked in the wig and dyed her own hair back to blonde for the rest of her run.

I remember going to see this for free on it's opening performance at The Dominion, as I worked for Robert Stigwood. I have to say, I hated Debbie Gibson's voice, but I guess it's because I was expecting her to be Olivia Newton John, and Debbie just didn't have that Australian twang. Craig was lovely, I met him a couple of times, a few weeks before the show went out. Such a lovely, humble guy considering he'd just come out of Neighbours, very funny too!
actually, i really dont like the girl playing sandy; she doesnt sound like she can sing particularly well tbh... she tends to shout rather than hold the tune...
+gabsylv Debbie Gibson is too old for the part, not unlike Olivia Newton John in the movie. The bad accents are easy to pick up. "We go too faaaahh", for instance. Brits cannot pronounce "r"s very distinctly. "Grease is the wood" ..haha
