Great Are You Lord sung by One Sonic Society and All Sons & Daughters is an amazing praise song that your church and prayer groups will love to sing! Get guitar chords and words / lyrics here at my tutorial of Great Are You Lord.
Hi Brett, I'm very grateful for all the guitar tutorials you are sharing ❤ I've learned a lot from you and am still learning, never stop for me, especially with you.😂😂😂 😂
This is the second worship song that I learned here on your channel. Thank you and God bless you and your wife for helping me learn how to worship and play for the Lord.
I learned to play this yesterday from your tutorial. My son and I jammed it out on the back patio last night around eleven o'clock...we'll use it this coming Sunday for offertory. Thanks...your instruction was really great.
Thanks so much for helping me with this song. My joyful noise feels pleasing to Jesus, at least that is my prayer ;) Thanks again, and keep up the great work helping us!!! Blessings to you and yours!
Bless u and yr ministry Brett. Watching yr video post about 2 weeks really helped me, "GET IT RIGHT". My wife and I have been leading worship for a youth ministry at our church. We did the song at the end of worship and God's presence was so amazing. I had to send you this post to say thank you. I am a new subscriber and I won't be watching for your videos. Thank you again and God bless you and your family.
Love the song and the tutorial, nice backing as well With our version its a "call and response" for the 1st 2 lines, coming in (altogether) on "You bring light to the darkness"and also on" Every heart that is broken". It just seems to flow into it. Haven't heard anyone else (yet) do it that way., but it just works...
im happy on this video..your wife is amaizing she,s got a wonderfull voice...and you too. I will perfome this song on next week.....sorry for my bad english😅
Brett, I don't know if I just missed it, but the house worshiped you and your wife and the brother on keys did, which I think were during Covid19. Do you have guitar tutorials for it, too? Just also have to mention that your wife's harmonies are beautiful, no need to be camera shy, and she's beautiful, I have no doubt a beautiful ❤️ too. I wish my wife could start singing with me too.😅 She's also very shy when it comes to singing, yet she's not shy to preach, standing on the rostrum by herself. 😮
awesome tutorial. I like the way you teach the chords first and then play it through with the lyrics and chords..such a help..also I like the foreward about he song..you're right we need to use our talents for God. I am very talented naturally in song and playing music, but I have not been able to afford regular lessons and I have not been disciplined as muuch as I should be. And I hate it bc I could have been good enough to lead worship already if I had been more consistent the past decades. With great tutorials like this it leaves me no excuse, and encourages me to practice more. Thanks for the videos. And tell your wife there is no reason to be camera shy. She has a beautiful voice!! I would love to hear her more from being in front of the camera. 😍
Hi Brandi, thanks for the kind words and I just want to encourage you to keep working on your music! A very wise lady once told me that God has given you a gift and if you don't use it, it could disappear. I believe God gives us all gifts and we should use those gifts for him! It sounds like he has blessed you with a musical gift, so use it for his glory! Im sure many will be blessed by hearing your praise leading. Keep working, and God bless!!
LeadPraise Thank you so much for the encouragement. I really needed that bc sometimes I get discouraged and feel like my progress is so slow, between my busy schedule and past inconsistencies. But, you and that wise lady are right, God gives gifts to be used for him. And these videos are a big help. So I am committing myself to keep practicing as much as possible, even if it's only 10 minutes sometimes. My goal is to play well enough to lead a 2 hour worship session at David's Tent in D.C by next summer. It's gonna be awesome. Thanks again.
Great practice. You have great lessons. The only thing I would say is if you could put a link jumping straight to the song. I myself don't need the lesson, I just want to learn the song. Thank you.
Is there a certain "strum pattern" you use? This was played at a close friends funeral service yesterday and I'm just in my 2nd year of learning guitar, since this was a favorite of Amy's I would like to learn it. Thanks Daniel C.
such a great song too. I was playing this song last night, not perfect for sure, but my husband and I were singing together too and harmonizing like you two were. Is there a specific strum pattern or do you just do what seems to flow with it?
I love to hear that! There is nothing better than a husband and wife signing together! It blesses the marriage in a special way. Anyway, keep singing together and may God bless you both greatly!! Regarding the strumming pattern - it is a 3/4 count, so you are counting one, two, three - one, two, three ... I typically strum this in a down, down, up down where the up comes right between the two and three count. It is helpful to say "and" between the two and three, so your counting will look like one, two and three - one, two and three ... Hope that makes sense. Keep in mind the dynamics of the song though - on the verses I'm sometimes barely touching the strings and on the big chorus's I am hitting them pretty hard! Sound good? Keep praising God!!
LeadPraise Yes that strumming pattern makes sense. I think I just need to practice doin it faster for the climatic part of the chorus. Thanks so much! And, I agree, I do feel a special blessing when my husband sings along. He is very talented too in voice and he use to play the trumbone. I'm praying he will play an instrument again. Thanks for the videos and reply.
