I do enjoy your videos as they are very informative. Social media platforms are a nasty place to take the risk of making political statements and unfortunately that’s what you chose to do by putting the acknowledgement to country at he start of all your videos . They don’t make me angry but they do annoy me as I’m off the view also that it’s “ virtue signalling “ and no need for it in any forum but hey it’s your channel and if i was that annoyed I would unsubscribe. I will unsubscribe however if you start “ preaching “ all about Australia Day and then later get sucked into comments about The Voice as that’s all purely political and nothing at all to do with caravanning and off road adventures in what at the end of the day should belong to all Australians …..
Hi Robin … thanks for watching and we appreciate your input. we do understand where your coming from, however by definition virtue signalling is the deliberate making of a statement on a political issue that is then enabling such person to be seen to be taking the morally correct position. We hoped to clarify by saying that PART of our journey is about learning and understanding BOTH viewpoints (particularly around why aboriginals feel so aggrieved), not about soap-boxing on political issues. Our journey is not an exercise in changing others opinions, it is about defining our own. Your absolutely correct that caravanning and offroad adventures belong to all Australians and because we will in the future travel into disputed territory, we seek to be better educated fence-sitters 👍🏼
Interesting mate ? You know I reckon if your average everyday Aussie saw aboriginals doing something constructive with their lives instead of blaming us ( the current generations) for things that happened over 100 years ago and if they stopped running around screaming “ it’s our land always was our land and always will be our land “ then maybe there would be some mutual respect coming back from not only Caucasian ( white ) Australians but also the Chinese Vietnamese Greek Macedonian Italian and so many other immigrant families who’s parents and grand parents helped build this country to make it what it is and yet all the Australian Aboriginal can do egged on by the “ aboriginal activist industry “ is cry for more and more and more money and recognition . Your see respect is a two way thing and is earned not given . In closing mate we just did again the drive with a caravan up through halls creek and Fitzroy crossing to Kununurra from Perth through Broome and saw towns like Carnarvon and derby and Wyndham and Onslow ….. well wait till you drive your chev and van through there mate and wait till your robbed from and threatened with violence for what ….. for just being there and being white and then maybe you’ll understand why the only way forward for aboriginal Australians and especially the children is to stop blaming the past and claiming sovereignty and to instead look forward and join main steam Australia….. until then it will always be a bloody mess ….. I feel for the kids and when you see the filth and drunken mess these parents let their precious kids live in your heart sinks and you you look at it all with despair and unbelief and we get told it’s all because of “ generational trauma “ …. I call BS on all that crap ….. I say they have no self respect and I can’t respect that in reciprocation…… anyway good luck with the trolls I hate them too . That’s why I got of face book and twitter and I just watch you tube caravanning and off road adventures…… nothing you or I do will help them as they have to in the end help themselves just the same as everyone else has to …… cheers and best wishes Robin
