Great Bear (On-Ride) Hersheypark 

I’m a wimp with coasters, and this ride had a pretty long line which gave me more time to regret getting on in the first place. Once I finally got on it was such a fun ride! I absolutely loved it and it wasn’t jerky at all! Totally recommend this for people new to riding coasters.

Hersheypark: We want a big, intense inverted coaster but we don’t have a lot of space to put one in. B&M: We got you fam.

Omg I went on this ride yesterday!! There were these two girls behind me probably 2-3 years older and when I told them it was my first time riding it they were so excited. I sat next to them (I was gonna be by myself if they weren’t there) and one of them was like hyping me up and giving me tips. They were overall so nice and I’ll never forget how big one of them smiled in the end and said “I’m so proud of you

Everytime I go on it I feel like my legs or feet are going to hit something like a bar or a tree

Omg I just rode this ride today and I was literally crying in line. As soon as I got off I was so happy that I did it bc i had sooo much fun and it wasn’t even scary! It didn’t even feel like you were upside down and the corkscrews were the best! It didn’t even make your stomachs drop (that weird feeling in your stomach) which was part of the reason why I didn’t wanna go on! I totally recommend this for beginners

I am not one for roller coasters but I kept watching this video and I was convinced to do it. I thought it was so fun. It is less scary than wild cat or the comet. I hope this helped. 😀

Wow That's A Cool Pre-Drop! Never Seen A B&M Do Something Like That

It took me a few rides but I finally got a ride in where I thoroughly and genuinely enjoyed this coaster Absolutely amazing.

this ride is amazing!! this is the first ever roller coaster i ever went on and it was so much fun!!! there are no big drops, just loops, and those loops are so amazing! would recommend for people trying to face their roller coaster fears!!

When I was little, I would always feel like I’m missing out on riding “big kid” coasters because I didn’t have the guts to ride them myself, and thought people riding them were so cool and I would see them fly overhead on one. I remember watching riders on the Great Bear and thinking “wow… I wish I can do that…” Now at 22 years old, I ADORE roller coasters! The Great Bear and Candymonium are my favorites at Hershey Park! It’s places like this that make me proud to live in Pennsylvania

long line but it's worth the wait. it is the loudest at the park. i LOVED it!!!!! I just went yesterday for the first time. I like looking at the pictures. Micheal's(boy) face was hilarious! He was screaming and it looked like he was praying to live or something. lol but he said he wasn't.

ive been on all of hershey's roller coasters and i love them all! Great Bear and SkyRush r my fav. Have fun at the park!

I've ridden a lot of roller coasters but I still have to say this is my absolute favorite one.

Just moved to the west coast. I used to live in Lancaster and Hershey Park is one place I will miss deeply!

My favorite ride there. It isn't the fastest, it isn't the most intense, but it's the best experience. In the front row, it really feels like you're flying. Thrilling but smooth--it makes for a great time.

I think im the only one that hated skyrush..... Maybe because I went on it when it was brand new but the leg harness got tighter and tighter and was squeezing my legs so hard it hurt

The near miss elements on this are incredible. I was terrified that I'd hit my leg on a tree or support beam. Plus that 3rd inversion is so snappy and intense.

I love this rollercoaster so much because this ride is the best ride ever. This ride means everything to me. I miss this ride so so much.

I went to Hershey this past summer and we went on this ride legit like 6 times. It's even better at night.

Advice to all who get on inverted coasters (hang down seats from the upper track, like this one): tie your shoes tightly before you get on. I nearly lost my left shoe on the Volcano at Kings Dominion last week.

We just did front row on this, last month. Great Bear is probably my all time favorite coaster.

I went on this today and it was sooo fun!! Definitely recommend you do it when it is pouring rain.

Went on this one. Not as intense as I expected. Loved everything about it, until I nearly greyed out during the Zero-G loop. I wish I got a front row seat, it has the best view.

I went on this yesterday and it was my first big coaster and I rode it at night and it was a really smooth and nice coaster, it feels faster at night and I wasn't scared at all somehow even tho it was my first big boi roller coaster

This is a fabulous B&M invert. Several great one of a kind elements here my favorite being the first drop off the chain lift. Wish I lived closer. Great park too!

This was my favorite one my honest opinion is it’s REALLY fast so put ur head back ( especially on the parts where you turn and spin i could not keep my head up 😂) and enjoy because your feet are dangling and that’s the best part ok bye

I can almost feel my feet being ripped off watching the train go through that helix. I haven’t gotten a chance to ride this yet. Probably won’t until this fall at the earliest next year at the latest. I love that B and M roar. When I went to the park with an ex boyfriend and his parents several years ago his mom said the coaster was called Great Bear because of the sound it makes. I now know the true cause but I was young and new to coasters at the time.

My favorite ride at the park! I rode it at night & there was no wait at all. I went on three times in a row, went up the stairs and got right onto the ride. It's so fun and worth it! However it does make my stomach feel a bit sick afterwards.

Went there yesterday. It was a private event and we got on the great bear twice in just 15 minutes. It isn't shaky at all.

I love the unique supports throughout the ride, I think this is the only B&M invert with support bars that run under the track and it’s awesome... correct me if wrong though

I went to Hershey last Summer and chickened out of this ride. That was before I loved upside down roller coasters. Can't wait to go back.

The Fact that you get an excellent view of the roller coasters in the front part if Hershey Park on Great Bear, It wouldn't be as fun if it was built on Flat ground.

I made my mom ride front row on this ride. I don't regret it but she does. lol

well on stormrunner, keep your head back so you dont bang it on the sides of the restraints. on fahrenheit, the line will be really long, but the wait is worth it, especially if you're in the front seat. on the great bear, dont wear flip flops. on skyrush, pull down the lap bar a few inches from you legs and when the person comes to push it down, lift you legs a bit so they don't crush it, and during the ride dont lean on it. and on the 2 big wooden ones, their sort of rough but still very fun

I love rides with seats like those cause you barley feel anything in your stomach all you feel is wind which is so much fun

Legit my favorite ride at Hershey park. Storm runner has to be my close second.

I recommend riding this at around 8:30 or 9:00 PM. The lines are so short because most people are either leaving or riding the more intense coasters. (Or younger children are playing games & visiting the gift shop).

The most fun coaster is shellraiser in American dream mall you blast off without a countdown or stopping then it hangs over the edge of the drop so u can see nyc skyline then it drops u more then 90 degrees!

i got on this for the first time not too long ago and screamed so much i couldnt even pay attention to the ride.. lol. gonna ride it again on a school trip tho

Me and my friends got on the tall swings at hershey park multiple times and every time we did we always yelled have fun to the people on great bear cus they were so close and we would always hear bear noises when it was coming it was hilarious 😭

Heyy this is a typical question, but are there any ways how I can get over my fear of drop rides and roller coasters? I'm going to Hershey park with my friends and they want me to ride this...Yet honestly I couldn't even go on the frog hopper (I forget the actual name of the kids ride) without crying at least twice lmao

i swear to god this park takes on-ride pfotos at the weirdest times!

I rode the skyrush first and then great bear. So I wasn't really scared I was just smiling and yelling wooo but not in terror. It was great!

PA has some great parks. Hersheypark is no exception.

For those worried about your shoes, most rides at Hershey Park have a huge shelf to put your things, like this one.

I'd say it's about on par with Alpengeist. Using elements of the terrain to enhance the ride.

I rode this twice today, can't wait to go back on it tomorrow.

This is my favorite ride so far at Hershey park and why I say so far we are going this upcoming up weekend so I don't know what ride is going to be my favorite

When I rode it, I barely saw anything, cause my eyes were shut. I could barely feel when I went upside down. Next thing you know, I keep getting the feeling back again the day after.

I had much higher expectations for this ride, but me and my friends really didn't like it. For one of my friends it was his first coaster with an inversion and I feel bad that this was his first impression of the park's coasters. Storm runner was my favorite and I feel he would have liked it too, but then again, now he hates inversions. I'm not sure if the fact that it got bumpier or what because everyone says it's really smooth but that wasn't the case.

this is literally one of the best coaster a hershey.

Love This Ride

While the track may look the same as S:UF (built by the same manufacturer in the same style, riders suspended beneath the track) the two coasters are drastically different. S:UF is a Bolliger & Mabillard flying coaster, whereas Great Bear (and the Batman clones, Silver Bullet, etc.) are all B&M Inverted Coaster Models, where riders are SITTING, not LAYING, beneath the track.

I went to Hershey park yesterday and I didn't want to go on the Great Bear but then my cousin's that are like 8 went in line so I went on with them.After the ride finished I went on Sky Rush immediately. LOL
