The Great Central Railway has clocked up a special milestone in June 2023. It’s fifty years since volunteers were able to return steam trains to the award winning heritage line.
I attended the 50th celebration weekend with ‪@OONeal‬ to film 92214 hauling a special 50-wagon goods train, both from the lineside and drone.

Was fortunate to see the 9f plus 50 wagons, great sight. Used to see the 9fs in Sunderland, early 60s. A fantastic day, well done GCR. Steve

Some lovely footage here. Great to see "my 9F" on the freight train. Was lucky enough to cab it when it was at the NYMR some years back. An absolute beast of a locomotive!

I cannot get over the power of these steam locomotives in that they can spin wheels with the crank point on the wheels 1/3 the radius of the wheel

A great day with some great locos and great footage! I went on the Saturday and saw the 9f and 50 wagons depart Loughborough which was a sight to behold! Happy 50th Anniversary GCR! Magnificent footage and drone shots! Can't wait to see another layout update soon! I was also in the Inspection Saloon behind the Peak.

Incredible to watch and it goes without saying the drone shots are spectacular. Being up close to these old steam loco's is amazing. The smell, the feeling of power and yet the majesty of them. I was in Pickering last weekend (day before the King visited) and the NYMR as with all heritage lines, are a wonderful experience for all ages. Well done on this production.
