We all love great desserts, but often we turn them down because they contain too many calories. This video explains how we can have these great desserts but with only a very nominal number of calories. The first step is to figure out how many calories is the maximum number you want, then put in the right amount of ingredients to match that number. It is possible to make most of these desserts with the following numbers of calories: 35, 50, 100, and 200. Who can say no to a great dessert that has only 35 calories? Realistically: no one! So when a guest says a dessert have too many calories, tell them you can make the dessert with either 35 or 50 or 100 or 200 calories and let them pick the number! The two main strategies discussed are these: first, eliminate the “add-on” items like crème wafers, chocolate candy, and substitute decorations like American flags and parasols to take up space; second, use smaller containers to serve smaller portions!
