Wow Nigel, these are wonderful memories of your dad. Great to hear all those stories about how it all started in stourpaine. I myself went to the show for the first time in 2011. And from then on I have lost my heart to this wonderful event. Since that year it has been saving money every year to be able to go there again. which has been successful every year so far. This year was supposed to be the tenth time in a row, but covid 19 decided otherwise .... Hopefully the show can go on in 2021. Thanks for watching...!

For me it was the 9th time in a row and I hope that many more may follow....!

@@MultiNaatje This year was much more relaxed to be at however the 50th was special I was in the play pen with a couple of friends engines last year. It was madness in there at times

@@ivanmullen3015 You're right. I have never seen it as busy as last year in the play pen. Sometimes a complete trafic jam...!!

The playpen is one of my favorite places on the steamfair. To drive up the hill with the Foden steam wagon must be an experience that you will never forget for the rest of your live. I hope someday I can ride it up with someone and make my dream come true....

@@MultiNaatje i have been in the play pen while sitting on top of the coal of my friend's steam roller it was great to hear the engine's working hard while they go up the big hill

@@MultiNaatje they do trailer rides behind a traction engine around the Playpen i think it was two pound each back in 2019 the money is given to a charity

Met Fred Dibnah at Dorset way back in time. Stopped going due to camping getting expensive and "Undesirables" being allowed in. Still the best Steam Fair going though.

I only have visited Dorset for several years. Which shows do you visit in your neighborhood Stuart?

@@MultiNaatje I like going to the Driffield show and watching them doing the road run through the town and Ackworth. I did Lincoln for the first time this year.

You are so right Huge, it remains difficult to show in a few minutes what really is going on there...!!

looking at the acres of caravans, i'd have to say you don't seem to be trying too hard to get in...……… if they vanners can...………. ??

I live in Poole it's easy to get to even on public transport so if you caught a train to Poole you can catch a bus to Blandford from there and there is a bus service to the steam fair from there don't think you have been looking into it enough

The rides in the heavy haulage arena are 2 pound if I remenber well.....

Wich engine is yours peter? The steamroller or the road locomotive...?
