"The eagles are coming!!"
Not Orc, nor warrior, not elf nor hero....today we fly through the skies with a tutorial focussed around the Great Eagles of Middle Earth! Majestic and powerful beings who always turn up JUUUUSST in the nick of time to help the Free Peoples of Middle Earth!
These plastic sculpts are absolutely gorgeous, lots of well defined detail all over the models and when painted up and accompanying their windlord Gwaihir into battle, an unrelenting force to be reckoned with, ripping orcs asunder with beak and talon alike.
We've used a variety of browns, beiges, drybrushing and feathering combined with our usual painting style. All highlighted up with some slightly strange combinations in order to bring you a tutorial that will let you get these majestic lords of the sky painted up quickly and to a superb standard on the tabletop!
These were a great joy to paint for the channel and I can't wait to get some traction going on my Radagasts Alliance army now!
We hope you enjoy this weeks video and as always!
Happy Hobbying!!

Do you think you could do a video on brush care, and how you go about it? Your brushes always look immaculate!! I get through so many myself

I'm always curious why you do all over layers when painting? What's the reason for doing the first layer if you're going to completely cover over it with a different colour?

It's probably because he's working up from black. Would probably take longer to get solid coverage if he didn't use an intermediate layer.

Yeah the way this guy paints is weird. He'll base the same parts multiple times, essentially deleting his previous layer. He says its to build up colour, but I don't see it myself, and I've never seen anyone else do this. He wastes a lot of time, explaining why his videos are always so long 🤷‍♂️

It clearly works for him, the results speak for themselves. I was more interested in the reasoning for it. Does it give better coverage, does the colour show through etc...

Thank you for your interest :). So personally I dont like working off a single base layer, i've found that by increasing the hue over a few layers helps build up a more solid and consistent tone for working off the layers and highlights later on down the line. 90% of my models i've always worked off a black undercoat and its just something i've developed myself which helps me achieve the look im going for. Ive also had issues before with patching when washing over one initial basecoat and this seems to mitigate it, at least in my experience anyway. Its just something i've always done and it seems to work for me although maybe i'm just blinkered into my routine after 20+ years painting lol

@@brucewayne8562 Thank you for the feedback bud! TBH the length of the videos has been something I want to work on going forward so will deffo be taking this under advisement,, see if I can shorten the video time. Hope you're enjoying the content so far.
