We are so happy to have been able to help guys, and thanks for the kind words! It was great getting to meet you, talk about the hobby, and see everything come to fruition like this! Keep sharing your fun with the world and we’re rooting for ya! Did you guys get a shirt from us at RC Fest? 👍😁😎⚓️
THANK YOU! Yes, got a shirt for my son...and he wears it more than he wears the ones for our own channel! :) Hope to run into you again at a future event, and thank you for your help.
Long time viewer as a crawler fan, but as a budding pilot I stumbled upon this video. Have to say that this is one of your BEST videos ever! The new experience and family content made it a smile fest. Awesome job on capturing this first foray into RC planes as a family event. 👍👍
Great job guys, I concur, the AeroScout is a fantastic plane. I have two in my fleet, one stock and one I've modified with higher rates, flaperons, etc and even as an experienced RC pilot they are lots of fun and capable. Safe is great to get you out of trouble if you are quick on the button but my main suggestion is get up high and out of safe as soon as possible and practice your maneuvers. As useful as safe is it will teach you some bad habits if you use it too long. Habits such as holding full aileron through a turn because the bank limiter is holding it there. Once you switch to "expert" mode and you try that you'll be upside down in an instant. Maybe you've already got some non-safe flights under your belt, if not keep practicing and keep flying! I also greatly respect your attitudes. Laughing off the inevitable crashes, even expensive ones, is the best medicine!
Awesome, fun, entertaining video documentary! Your enthusiasm and attitude are exemplary for all levels of the R/C community. WELCOME! The AeroScout does make an excellent camera platform! Your relationship with your family will be very interesting/enjoyable to follow. I subscribed to your channel. I predict many enjoyable experiences in your family’s future. Keep the rubber side down, and the shiny side up. 👍🏻🙂
Nate and Abby got me into RC ground vehicles about 6 or so years back and then helped me get interested in RC flying several years later. A wonderful couple for sure. Hey, you guys are doing great with your AeroScout. Thanks for documenting and sharing with us. PS. I managed a tree "landing' on the maiden of my AeroScout. IMHO, the AeroScout is not only a great starter plane but a fun plane even for an RC pilot with intermediate skills. Rolls, loops, inverted flying and a few other aerobatics are handled very well by the AeroScout. I would get another if I were to total mine.
These are really nice flyers. Your son had a great maiden flight! He should be proud of himself! Awesome touch n go😝 eachine makes some other great begin flyers as well that are worth checking out! Looks like you guys had some awesome time spent together!
Haha I wondered when you were gonna do a video on this. I remember running into you in the tent when I was buying the arrma, and you said they got ya for an RC plane
My 6yo old son and I flew ours today. 3 successful landings on a pretty windy day. Next time, no wind! We too watched RC Saylors video and were sold as a good choice for first plane. Fun stuff! Mine was 200 from Horizon Hobby on ebay but was surprised it didnt include battery or charger. Had to buy those from local hobby shop.
Great 1st flights guys I got the eachine p51 mustang as my first plane I was nervous and my adrenaline was going on the 1st few flights. it's been crashed and stuck in a couple tress as well
When I got back into flying a couple years ago I found @TheRcSaylors channel and bought a AeroScout through their link. I took it out yesterday and had a ball teaching one of my friends how to fly. He done really good. he landed it first try and that was his first time ever flying. I highly recommend the AeroScout as a first plane for sure. ✌🏻
I bought a rc plane after looking at them for months at my favorite hobby store but I bought a Sport Cub S 2 and I love it after just a couple of flights. I never thought I would get into flying after 35+ years in the hobby but it has been fun learning how to fly. I recommend these beginner planes to anyone who maybe be interested in learning but unsure about the initial investment.
Hello! Nice video. I was wondering though, do you have any tips for flying the Aeroscout? I just got one and wasn’t sure if there was anything I needed to know.
Congratulations on getting it! My main 2 recommendations: 1) keep it in the novice mode for the first few flights 2) fly up high - so if you do something wrong, you have time to recover 3) make sure you are flying away from people and known airport areas.
Nice journey Video, i think you should get a mini aeroscout or another small plane for your younger son, he seems interested in planes and wants to also join in
Have you tried a simulator? You can learn a lot and not worry about crashing. Just a suggestion. Just SMALL movements of the right stick. Fly high at about half speed. Things I learned the hard way. SAFE is your friend until you have plenty of experience. All the best.
Hi there! It is this camera - super lightweight. www.amazon.com/dp/B0C9HNWFRT/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_apa_gl_i_Y5EHMF5Q8S7C7BS0EKBE?linkCode=ml2&tag=roadsiderc-20 I have actually placed it in a lot of places. Doesn't seem big enough to cause an issue with balance. In this video, it is on top of the wings.
@@RoadsideRC I was going by memory. Ok later today I'll take another look and make a quick post, now I'm curious, i thought I saw others that said they had reverse thrust, thanks!
I find it rather Bizarre that you can just fly on a Schools grounds. I live in east central Florida and Every school is fenced OFF to prevent Entry except by way of Administration offices. This all happened after the rash of school shootings around the country. Heck, even our Public Parks are off limits to anything that can fly! I fly mostly 4 rotor UAS but have an Amazon junk 400 mm P51, It's a blast for a tiny winger.
information. PRACTICE GLIDING.! at a safe altitude. BECAUSE, when you know how to glide a model, you know how to LAND IT. gliding is not about flying slowly. gliding a powered model is about, flying the elevator so that a nominal sink-rate and airspeed are maintained. elevator trim that is correct for powered flight, will not be correct for gliding.
guess Logans previous Drone flying helped his pilot skills with the plane nice flights until the tree got it whoops and then the nosedive wow bit smashed such a lot of fun though despite the crashes guess all par for the course *fully viewed 👽Au👍thumbs up like*
@@RoadsideRC they just can with a ladder after my sister tried climbing the tree they were very confused about how I got it there I just got my aeroscout .
