GREAT Fish and Chips in GREAT YARMOUTH Cooked in BEEF DRIPPING! 

Nice place Yarmouth, good to see loads of families about. Fish and chips looked excellent, cooked in beef dripping, batter just right and plenty of nice haddock in there, chips and sauces very good. Price good for what you got. A solid 10 from me.

Everyone slates Great Yarmouth as being a bit of a dive 👎But trust me over the last 15 years or so it has transformed into a family friendly seaside resort , not so many Drinking bars as it was in the 90,s so more and more people come here for a relaxing time and great fun 👍Also you notice how much cheaper it is there , with great food at a fraction of the price you would spend further down the east cost ie 4 donuts at Southend cost you a fiver but Yarmouth is £2, burgers for a pound chips for £1.50 if you go to the market and all the people that work there are super friendly and will go out their way to accommodate you in whatever you want 👍Great place great Vlog 👍👍

You re absolutely right about the beef dripping. A few years back I found a chippy which used it and went there every week on a Thursday when I finished my delivery round. Then one day I went in and it had changed hands and the new people were using vegetable oil. I never went there again. It was great to stop and enjoy them before driving back to the depot, but all good things come to an end.

Fantastic! I’m really really dying to have some great fish and chips ! I fondly remember the fish n chip shops near the Air Force base my dad was stationed at in the early 70’s. They would wrap up the orders in newspapers. Such great great memories of living in the UK. Need to go back ! Brilliant video ! 😊😊😊

Lived in great Yarmouth for 18 years and had some nice fish and chips there, but your in the middle of the tourist area whereas if you go each side of great Yarmouth say caister or gorleston-on-sea you will get not only larger portion but more for your money

Lived in Yarmouth for a few months back around 1988 / 89 and have a few fond memories, visited again last year 2021 and this year when the Wheels car show was On, it's sad seeing yet another seaside town fall away, the best thing to come out the place now is sadly the last bus.

Incredible vlog Lee and yes it’s all about supporting the smaller businesses that don’t have the franchise’s of other places. We (as a family) love Great Yarmouth. Brilliant seaside town, and the kids love it. Loads for them to do and very reasonably priced.

we have just come back this weekend from a 2 week holiday in great yarmouth and this is our go to place but sadly on 25th july its was awful the haddock had skin on asked for it very well done it came soggy batter skin still on and had a funny smell to it so the near by seagulls ended up having it and we avoided it for the rest of our holiday and used the market chippy who also cook in beef dripping

That did look good...The fish was a large piece indeed, and all cooked in beef dripping...say no more...Glad you enjoyed. All the best

Years ago Southend had about 50 chip shops, probably! They all cooked in beef dripping and the aroma along the front was amazing. Going to Yarmouth next week and I am going get either fish and chips on your say so.

Always eat there Lee when on hols. Luckily hit the jackpot with it being the first place I tried several years ago and not bothered looking elsewhere since. Prices are magic too. 😁👍

We love Grelly's, the fish is just amazing, proper mushy peas (we call 'em sloppy peas in Northamptonshire!), beef dripping is the ultimate for Fish & Chips, going to Grelly's for donkey's years, just the best! Really pleased you enjoyed our favourite chippy. Take care.

Yo we just come back from great Yarmouth 2 weeks ago & the hut behind you at the start of this video (by the blow up slide things) its a cafe & the food is amazing we went there a few times & its the best place we went to in great Yarmouth to eat. Love Great Yarmouth. You should come to Skegness and try the fish & Chips here! We are on holiday to Great Yarmouth in October half term 21st - 28th and then we off to Tenerife on the 29th for a week! Working seasonal means we get an extra week half term with local schools here. Will give that chippy a try! Take care.

Looks like totally quality fish and chips. Great Yarmouth is the other side of the country from me but the only place local to me (Devon/Cornwall) that I know that uses beef dripping is Rick Steins chippy in Padstow. First time I had it, I thought it was weird-almost like the taste of beef overtakes the fish, but now I love it. This fish and chips looks like Steins. Beautiful. Steins is mega expensive though. A treat to have once or twice a year after doing the Camel trail, sit by the docks and eat it.

Thanks Lee for a most informative vlog which sees you finding a seaside chippy producing a perfect meal at a very reasonable price..incidentally the road sign beside your table "Trafalgar Place" probably celebrates Lord Horatio Nelson and the British fleet who were successful at The Battle of Trafalgar..just a short distance away from his birthplace at Burnham Thorpe in North Norfolk is Wells - next - the Sea where I have twice visited French's fish and chip restaurant overlooking the beautiful harbourside, on both occasions (25 years apart) I have found the food to be "off the charts" ..maybe you would wish to try them out sometime. Onwards and upwards

Hi Lee they looked fantastic the fish was chunky for Haddock but the chips were a bit scraggly but they tasted great the way you were going on about them i agree beef dripping all ways 10/10😋😋

Perfect just as it should be, with good prices too. It's the same here at 'The Golden Plaice' in Shaftesbury, Dorset. if ever you visit this ancient Saxon hilltop town. And to remind me of embarrassing days my Dad was one of those that sat in the deckchair with the knotted hankie on his head back in the 1960s! By christ they were fun days back then!! 😂🌞🎠🎡🎢🏖😎
