Somehow I ended up with a bunch of headphones, including Bose Q35 II, 700s and the current Ultra. These are all some of my favorite headphones and the Ultras currently at the top of the list. Reliable, sure footed and very comfortable. You can also find them on sale from time to time. That’s all I know.
Thanks for the review! If possible I'd like you to do a one to one comparison between the Momentum 4 and these headphones. For sound quality I find my Momentum 4 much better than the Bose 700 and wonder how the QC Ultra does in this respect.
Oh, that's definitely in the cards! I have 3 pieces I'm working on now (a collaboration, a comparison, and a straight-up review), but QC Ultra vs Momentum 4 is what I'll most likely do after that because I'm curious myself!
I want to! I’m keeping an eye on the Bowers and Wilkins site in case they have refurbs. I do have the PX7 S2e, and I’ll be doing comparisons (for pretty much the rest of the year).
Fantastic review. Testing this and qc for weeks. Prefer comfort and overall sound on Ultra. ALSO comparing with Soundcore space one pro.. it's pretty close for $200 less. Compare and let me know. Thoughts. ❤
Thank you! As for the SoundCore Space One, that’s one I haven’t tried. I own both the Life Q30 and Space Q45. They definitely punch above their weight, and I agree, they get you a good 90% of the way there for way less with sound. But the bulk, ANC, mic quality, and comfort (at least with the Q45) I feel are the trade offs. But as I said I haven’t tried the Space One, so they might have made a major change. (As a side note: the Q30 is probably my favorite budget headphone next to the JBL Tune 710BT: the bang for the buck on it is just incredible.)
Im confused as wether to buy these or Sennheiser m4s. Yes my main priority is watching movies. But i hear m4s offer much better sound and bass while this have immersive audio. Which one should i choose? Or is there any other options out there that ticks both the requirements.
Ok, not done with the video about this, but based on what you’re asking, I think the Bose might be a better deal. Here’s the thing, the M4 sounds more “mature” than the Bose, and is more flexible with its sound. You won’t go wrong with it at all. But the Bose can be tuned well enough that the difference isn’t that big. And both can handle ridiculous amounts of bass, so you’re good with both. Plus the ANC is better and I also find it more comfortable, but that’s just me. The only other option I would give you would be the AirPods Max, but wired. I know, weird recommendation, but it’s actually *amazing* for movies, and the cable really improves the sound significantly. But only do this if you have iOS. If you have Android… again, you’re fine with either, but I’d recommend Bose because it also has the potential to do wireless lossless (whenever that rolls out). It’s a tough ones though: both are excellent and I don’t think you can make a wrong choice, given what you’ve mentioned here.
@@simihilal7665 I adore the M3’s: the sound is astounding, and I like it better than the M4, mostly because I feel the M4 have too much bass by default. My review of the M4’s is basically a comparison, so I recommend watching that if you want my full thoughts. But from a technological (and comfort) perspective, the M4’s are better.
Bose have constant hiss/white noise on quiet environment because u can’t turn off anc ! If you watching movies at night you will be distracted when is no sound ! Bose are great on loud/ outside environment use but in home and especially in quiet listening I don’t recommend them !

I can’t promise that I’ll be able to do those any time soon, unfortunately: I don’t own them (and I pay for the vast majority of everything on the channel) and probably won’t have the time in the foreseeable future, since I’ll be doing a bunch of comparisons, plus a few other commitments. The S3 is one that I’ve had on my radar for a while, but just haven’t had the opportunity. (I’ve spoken to Edifier about it, but that hasn’t gone anywhere.) Didn’t know about the S5, but once I have the time, I’ll look into that. Thank you for the suggestions, though: this really helps me decide what to look for in the future.
Not sure what you can do. If you haven’t tired factory resetting the headphones and reconnecting them, try that. Also, does the issue persist when you’re connected using the cable? Or just Bluetooth? That might help show you where the problem is. If you just purchased it, you may want to contact the seller or Bose to see if they can repair it or replace it, as it sounds like an issue with the speakers. Beyond that, I don’t know. Best of luck.
Mine has remained the same color, with no blemishes, but I may not be a good comparison point, since I frequently rotate in using different headphones.
Hi could you recommend headphones in the price range of about under $275. The priority is that they were comfortable, did not hurt my ears/head, you can listen to 2-3 hours and was the best sound. All sorts of contrivances and noise-canceling functions are not important. And what is better sound Sony xm4 adjusted in EQ or Momentum 4? There is a promo for 230$ Sony, Momentum unfortunately only for 275.

But I feel that, when it comes to sound, the Momentum 4 punches WAY above its price, and I’ll put it up against much more expensive things. (In fact, I’ve put it up against the Focal Bathys, which is twice the price, retail.) I can’t say that about the XM4, even if it’s properly EQ’d: the clarity and detail just aren’t there, and the XM4 sounds muddy by comparison to me. You know, I’d been questioning doing an M4 vs XM4 video but… after this conversation, I think I will. I think a lot of people might be asking the same question. Thank you for reaching out and asking!

I’ll be doing a piece on this because it’s not a simple answer. What do you dislike about the XM5 that makes you interested in the QCU? Likewise, what did you like about the XM5 that made you decide on it?
Gotcha. That’s a tougher one and something I’ll have to test myself. Without direct comparisons: both are excellent. I actually had a section on this video which I cut out because of time where I talk about it visiting my family during the holidays, and how these blocked that noise out. On the other hand, I have a part in my XM5 video where I literally blocked out the sound of a concert, although most of it was low rumbles due to distance. Both are extremely good at this, at it might come down to how well they sit on your head, since of the deal isn’t good, the sound will come in. My gut says XM5, but Bose is no slouch. They are both top notch. And the Bose was *good* against my loud family during the holidays. I’ll include this in my tests, but that probably won’t be punished for a while, so I’ll see if I can reasonably test before then.
Hmm. I haven’t noticed the white noise on mine, at least not anything more than pretty much every other headphone. (The Q45 was bad, but the QC Ultras are on par with pretty much every other headphone at this price.) I’m working on another piece that invites these, so I’ll test this out and report what I find in that one. Thanks for the heads up. As for turning off ANC/Transparency, I agree. I had another section where I talked about using these while visiting my family in which I covered that, but I cut it out because I felt the video was too long. (That’s something I’ve started to change my mind about: I leave a lot of stuff in the cutting room floor that people like you would find useful, but I shorten videos because of the YT algorithm. Ultimately, I’m less happy with those videos even if they perform better.)
My video, my opinion :-) You’re free to feel however you want. I’ve seen too many headphones that make the wearer look like a Dr Who Cyberman. These look professional.
