It is for me too in a way, as I said I prefer not enough than too much flares. But I also have to mention it as a con as people might not expect that from an anamorphic lens.

I actually think that super-wide framing looks great for the shots of people in open space. The way anamorphic gives you extra width without compromising on the centre compression is one of its main advantages in my view, and really gives the sense that there's a whole world around your subjects. From your experience, is it workable to frame and to focus using only the internal monitor on the 6K Pro, given that the camera doesn't currently offer 1.8x desqueeze? Or did you find that too painful? My main use would be travel and family, and I don't really want to carry around a cage and monitor in those situations.
i own 35mm and 50mm lens. I love the look and feel of the image for sure. But unfortunately 35mm lens have huge vignette on Black Magic Full frame camera, when you shoot on Open Gate. Really sad. Cause, You have to make quite crop (at least 25%).. and loose the sides. So there is only 1 option - Choose Anamorphic setting in the camera. With 50mm lens there is also vignette. But not so dramatic.
Lovely footage! Question for you, I'm a landscape still shooter, that enjoys shooting panoramic. Is this any good as a stills lens when stopped down? Does it cover the full 35mm frame? Could you perhaps post a sample JPEG, or better raw? Please and thank you!
6:30 thats just a common flare that you get from any lens regardless of anamorphic or not, I see you're not using a mattebox+topflag which would have easily corrected that issue. Nothing to do with the construction of the lens.
so it looks like this lens's anamorphic block is at the rear of the lens, while on the 50mm it's at the front. I'd assume this is why it's harder to make the 35mm flare.
yes, rear anamorphic. Little to no Flares, no oval Bokeh, no Imperfections, no anamorphic Look. Buy a super sharp 22mm spherical Lens (same FOV) for $500, add fake Bars to your Video = same Look, but much cheaper.

I have the lucadapter speed booster in my pocket 6k, and my measurements suggest that this lens will just barely fit with the speed booster...wish I could rent one to try! If it did, I would probably never take it off of my 6k!
This is off topic but I saw another Tuber (Jordan Vanderplate) says he is leaving the BMPCC6K and going to the Sony FX30 cause touch screen on the BMPCC6K stopped working. This is only after 2 years of use. My wife flip out if I tell her that I think I bought a $2k throwaway camera. What are your thoughts? Have you had this problem?
Haha nope, I have never had this problem. I have been using my bmpcc6k for 3 years and still works as day one. I also use my 6k Pro pretty much everyday and again, no issues. Even my original OG BMPCC bought in 2014 works fine haha! I think cameras are never 100% perfect regardless of the brand so anything can happen of course, but not in my case.
