Been following for a few weeks now and have been wondering how does a boat like yours do on fuel consumption? Do you have an normal cruising speed distance per gallon you use to calculate your trips? The GPS is pretty cool and I never knew one could guide boats just like a car!

We are about 1.4 mpg currently. At 9mph. Consider signing up for our newsletter for the inside scoop. Hit SIGN ME UP on our website of www.WhatYachtToDo.com Great to have you onboard with us 😎

Wonderful trip. I myself enjoyed a special nautical visit to Cape May for about 9 weeks a couple decades ago. A VERY cold snap rolled in with record January lows. Semper Paratus.

Thanks. Yes, it can get cold and windy there! 😎

Sam & Rev, after doing two loops do you think that the marinas give you extra attention because of the size of your boat.? For example would get the same service if your boat was a 32 or 38 footer.?

Hi Captain Richard 😎 Not really any difference that we sensed. Hope you are well. Sam and Rev

I just bought a 38 Sundancer and it is presently winter stored in Baltimore Maryland at Marinemax. I have to drive it back to Point Pleasant NJ in the spring (April) . I've been to Ocean City maryland on my old boat a 320 Sundancer. But never was on the inside and never had to do the C&D canal. I plan on stopping in Cape may to overnight it. I've also never gone through that canal to cape may. Anything to worry about (hazzards ) depth to worry about ? Once i get to Cape May i'll be fine since i've been down there a few times already. Thx Art

Hi Art! Sounds like a fun trip! The canal is well marked. Use the Navionics App. It's great!

Wow. Someone else remembers the Diving Horse on the Steel Pier. Remember seeing it as a kid. I believe that the folks that used to do the performance, were from Millsboro, DE. Thanks for the memory. Question for Sam: How do you know the height above water for all of the bridges you pass under?
@WhatYachtToDo
@WhatYachtToDo 3 года назад
Yes, and it was a woman on the horse not a man, I found out from some research. I was very young at the time. As far as bridges, the design height is posted on Navionics or Active Captain software. But each bridge also has a board at the base to show the actual height at the time based on water level.

It doesn't look like there were a lot of people to bob and weave through. Lots of good eats on the pier. Did you get any saltwater taffy? Nice simple approach and dock maneuver when you got there. Well done Captain. Not much sense leaving a lot of paint wherever you go. I thought you were at Wild Wings when I saw part of the sign. Chips did look good.
@WhatYachtToDo
@WhatYachtToDo 3 года назад
Well we skipped the taffy this trip! Seemed like Wildwood did not change in a lot of ways since the early 60s!

Sam, out of curiosity does your Garmin have down imaging (DI) capability? Sometimes seeing what is below you can be interesting.
@WhatYachtToDo
@WhatYachtToDo 3 года назад
Yes, it has sonar, so I can see stuff down there, but interpreting it is another issue!
