In this episode we explain our understanding of The Great Loop and try to answer some if the questions we first had about the loop. (Recorded July/2022) Thank you for watching! 😎 #greatloop #boatlife #trawler #bucketlist #travelstaycool
Hi Kevin, thanks for watching. Like most loopers, we will be travelling down the inland rivers through the middle of the USA headed towards Mobile, AB. But because of named storms with hurricanes, most loopers stay north of Demopolis until after November. 😎
Thanks for your comment Buck! Every looper will have their own unique experience but we certainly appreciated other looper’s info! Thanks for watching!😎
I ran a tour boat in Vicksburg for 12 years. I saw many Loopers. I've seen many of them fail and give up at Vicksburg. Homemade rafts, small sailboats with a kicker, bigger yachts with thoughts of grandeur and John boats don't usually make it. It's hard to get fuel on the lower Mississippi. It seems that 25-30 footers with a 25-40 HP four strokes navigate the river easily. My favorite was an 18" C-Dory Cuddy with twin 30 HP four strokes. They came from Memphis with 40 gallons of gas.👍
So you are planning to hop over to Bahamas? I’ve wondered if 390 is appropriate for that trip. (We don’t have a boat so all our limited boating knowledge comes from RU-vid videos.). Let us know if you’re ready to sell in about 2 years 😀
Hi DB, thanks for your comment. Yes, we are planning to make the side trip to the Bahamas. The Mainship 390 is a good enough vessel for that trip. They even charter them in the Caribbean! 😎
