Great idea! I don't hate the overlay but it's up for the better part of five months. It's also never made sense to me why they do it for Halloween. The park has one spooky ride and you add a Christmas theme during Halloween. Leave it alone for October and then switch during the beginning of November when they do the big seasonal changeover.

Projections in the background are fine and actually I like them if they’re done right. Too many projections can ruin a ride and bad projections (ie the faces in Epcot’s Frozen) … well the less of them the better

Yes indeed. Having two very high capacity rides down at the same time is impacting the entire park. Just my opinion, but a mistake on Disney’s part during the thick of the summer.

Plus figuring out the issue since WDW been having issues, maybe they can work out the bugs plaguing that ride to open better at Disneyland

Cutting back on the entertainment at DCA makes that park even a lesser value now. I had a reservation at Wine Country Trattoria last week, checked in a few minutes early and all of the table and chairs at the right when you walk up the stairs are gone. Can’t relax and have a glass of wine waiting for dinner. There are a few metal stand up tables by the bar.

According to Jim Hill Media, construction on the Haunted Mansion queue and carriage house are 'way behind schedule, so they are pulling construction crew from Tiana's so that Haunted Mansion will open for the start of Halloween Time at the end of summer, but Tiana opening is delayed to Thanksgiving weekend.

@@jaysonpida5379 They do have the budget for two crews, but not for increasing HM’s crew and maintaining a Tiana crew. If you they increase one crew, they need to decrease the other apparently. I’m not sure that decreasing entertainment is used to pay for accelerated construction. Construction and entertainment may be completely different revenue centers.

I just sent in an email to customer service about removing the Dr. Strange show. My 9yr old son will be heartbroken if he can't see him on our next trip in Dec. I hope they are listening. These shows are a perfect way for cast members to give that little extra to kids, talking to them directly, etc. It changes their little worlds. 💔

@@FreshBakedDisney I knew the people who owned the land they got the trees from in Idyllwild. I know they will be upset too. If it was sick would be the only reason it would be ok. It seems that if they could move full grown trees all the way from the San Jacinto Mountains, they could move a healthy tree to a different place.

They only do that when trees are dying. It sucks, but it is also necessary. They replace most of them.

When you own a home trees always become a concern because of roots. Roots can block older sewer lines. When you sell a house the scope the intire sewer lines curb to the end of the line. I had this problem because I had a great old tree.

The fountain I would think they’re going to remove, is the one next to where PORTO’S is supposed to go. Considering the massive size of Porto’s footprint, it stands to reason, there needs to be as much space for pedestrians to pass to and from the esplanade as possible.

Loggers perspective on the tree being cut down: ponderosa pine (which this appears to be) have a harvest cycle of around 50-80 years. Critter Country opened in 1972, meaning that tree was at least 52 years old. But more than likely it was around 60-65 years old since they would've transplanted a sapling. Why not leave it for another 20+ years? The biggest reason is theming. How often does disney get to rework an entire land? If they needed to cut that tree down in 2044, they may not have the ability to charge to rockwork and landscaping where it stood. Why not remove it and replant it somewhere? Its very difficult to move a well established tree, especially one that large, and transplant it without shock

So sad! I remember going to Disneyland and they always had entertainment everywhere. They always had several different plays and performances going. Outside and inside. Not having entertainment in the Golden Horseshoe is aweful! There was always something for all ages! You see less and less Seniors because there's nothing for them and of course prices being to high. When children were tired or sleeping you could watch a show and still get entertainment while they are sitting. What's wrong with the people making these decisions. Greedy!

Hi David. Even though I'm on the opposite side of the world, I watch your vids everyday (and mostly pretend to understand all the niche 'locals' references!). Always a great start to my day to take a virtual spin through the park. I wanted to ask how you create your blue/yellow titles that slide in and out. I use Adobe all day every day and was curious as to your process for adding titles throughout the video. Please take this kindly, but I could see a bit of a masking issue on some of your longer titles... happy to help optimise that for you, if you ever need any input. Just a friendly nudge. No spam :)

What is the status of *The Candle Man Rumor* for HM? If Constance is getting a face lift, the we should be hearing more on The Candle Man as well (maybe at D23, I would imagine there will be a ton announcements made there, some super exciting, some not so much; time will tell). I think there’s a very good chance that haunted mansion will be open but it will be the holiday version. Tiana’s though? If I had to guess I don’t think it will but I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if it was. So I guess my guess is the same as Dave - yes to HM, probably not to Tiana’s

Watch Dave's updates when all green pipes are installed and capped it is close. The pour concrete if the pipes are not functioning. Green pipes are sewage and excess water.

if they are done or almost done with the mountain at the Tiana rided then my guess they will work on the inside setingup the animatronics through out the ride.....and since your not able to get inside that part "Fresh Baked" the updates for the ride will stop unless you see reports on a web site to let everyone know how things are going.

Keep the original hitchhiking ghosts, they are so cool and original that way. If you want to see the Florida version go to Florida. Also, they should bring back the pop-up ghouls and the "I do" that they added in the 90s, in addition, they should bring back the original wedding bride that they had at the beginning, the scary version, I thought Constance looked like crap and her character was stupid, I'm glad they are changing her but they should bring back the old brides. I always felt like they ruined the attic when they brought in Constance or whatever her name is. It would also be a dream if they brought back the magnificent Splash Mountain instead of creating a new ride no one wants, and has been given really bad reviews.

I think the character changes being reduced on Sunday & Monday is because of the larger crowds? Too many ppl standing around there no space. Those are busy days

You can clearly see that all the sewage line is not in place. Sewer lines are green. That is why you see in some areas that there are green pipes that are vertical and the soil has been pressed down. It is at hh and critter country. You also see their are pipelines not yet installed. We cannot tell if this damaged over past storms or they saved it for new work. If the line were fractured then you would remove the soil. As a footnote the city of San Francisco was recent fined for putting 1.5 billion gallons of sewage in the bay. Remember run over water in storms goes first to lakes then sewage to move the water. Remember that on one day the park was closed after water underneath the train trestle pooled. Think back Dave you originally covered the lavatory closure by the tiki room and the prolonged repair. Hard to go forward with this problem unless completed per building permits. I find it hard to believe the issue is isolated...adventure or frontier lands may be next.

Thanks for this! People tend to forget Disneyland’s foundational work is 1950’s, so it’s just like when you renovate an old house. The work takes longer than if you’re building a new house, it’s why they don’t run into these issues at DCA or the newer theme parks IMO I don’t want the construction to be fast, I want it to be done well!

Haunted Mansion, yes. They want it open for the start of Halloween Time at the end of summer. Tiana's Bayou Adventure, no. According to Jim Hill Media, it'll open Thanksgiving weekend.

I'm happy about the updates to the Haunted Mansion, but my big concern is that this is all an excuse to make the HM a $25 Lightning Lane attraction meaning visitors either pay or be forced to wait for 2 hours to ride. Between gluing IP onto any old ride (not a comment on The Splash Mountain upgrade) and grinding even more money out of visitors, Disneyland just isn't for regular people anymore, only the wealthy.

LL or not HM would be a 2 hour wait on busiest days during the holiday season anyway. The other theme parks have been charging for express lanes for a long time now, some since the 90’s. Offering free fast passes never made sense to me 🤷🏻‍♀️On the busiest days the lines don’t seem any longer to me than any other time I’ve been to Disneyland. I can remember waiting 90 min for Indiana Jones when it opened and Star tours was always more than an hour back in the day. Disneyland has never been affordable for everyone.

I do not like it😢 when they take the trees out I always have to keep the faith until they put another one back. We always see them taking them out, but please make a video on when they put them back.

How was it? I’m a 62 yr old, lifelong Lander, but never had the chimichanga. I think that DL and DCA need more breakfast options(pick-up, not sit down with the dang reservations.) and at least till 11.

is it just me or does the top of tiana's look incomplete? the "empty" patches of green and tan (to the left) paint don't look great. but who is gonna see it from the ground i guess??

i;m hoping they finish that as well. that initial green layer does suggest that it is unfinished, rather than simply ignoring. they may just be doing it last.
