The only old song I like is “somewhere over the rainbow” from the wizard of Oz. I’m not saying the others are bad, I like them, but they’re just not my type.
I think because most people at this point have seen world war 1 and then the great depression. Then a second world war eventually and even further costs for basic living so the music had to be uplifting and happy that's why I love old tunes simple and happy. no bad words either lol
No percussion (no drums or metronome), that's why it feels so non-aggressive. Even modern day classical music features drums. That's why this feels so unique and alien in today's music... in case you were wondering.

I don’t think you would want to be alive during the Great Depression when you had to take turns each day to eat with your family and a small cut could get infected and kill you
even with all the bad stuff that some of the people had to live thru .music always made them feel alive for what ever length of time they listen to the radio, or if they could afford a record, or could sing .. but i am glad to hear some of this classic tunes ..thank you for uploading and creating such a kool video.
The thing to note when watching old movies like this (in addition to enjoying the music that is) is that almost without exception, everyone you see is now dead. Go on, pick out a face two, wonder how and when the person met his/her end.
