Since ive seen u use either spies hecker or standoblue 1,5 coat system... do you also have a problem with some whites and some reds (for example fine reds like the 1st stage of renaults NNP), causing silicones in the first coat of clear? Otherwise great vids, subscribed
Hey bud, so I'm running spies hitec 480, and have been having the same issue your talking about latest today..talked to my rep and it's from over-loading the basecoat, wind ya fluid needle in and adjust the pressure to suit and make sure to back your distance off abit awell. It seems to be predominantly blacks and blues and the odd red, which is the one I had happen today...depending on what gun you are running, and setup of course..hope this helps 🤘
I would definitely recommend getting a 1.3 for basecoat. Mine is a 1.3 and I love it. It sprays everything very well. Thank you for watching and subscribing!
Hi I work in a production shop and recently started switching to iwata.. I grabbed a super nova for clear and what an opinion on a good quality base gun to get? Thx and love your content!!
It is an amazing spray gun. And for the price you cannot beat it! It sprays just as good as my other more expensive spray guns. I have the 1.3. I have tried it on a bunch of jobs and it has handled every one great. First was a big silver job. Haha.
What clear did you use on this job and what tip size for the Kiwami. I currently use the Tekna Clearcoat copper gun. I love it, but thought about trying the LPH 400 or the Kiwami 4
Honestly I’m not exactly sure. I haven’t been running a regulator on this gun. Have just been going off sound. But I’m gonna assume around 22-24. I run fluid wide open and adjusted fan to spray pattern. Not sure how many turns I have it out. But it is almost open.
I'm doing this 20-24 psi and wide open and our fan is shit . 6" log fan is best I can get and have to spray at like 6" off the car . My input pressur is 100 , regulator on the gun has to shooting at a consistent 20-23 but that all it varries .
Great job, you made it look great and effortless laying down base and clear! Do you recommend this 1.3mm Kiwami 4 for base/clear? Not a pro, just a guy wanting to paint personal cars and have it come out good without having 2-3 guns hanging around., thanks!
From my experience, the Kiwami is great for the garage painter if used for basecoat. With the pressure turned down to around 20 psi, you will still have a nice fan and great atomization without clouding up the area. Higher pressures will tend to use more paint, putting paint into the air. It does well on clear, but again, it will require more pressure with the chance of putting out more overspray.
Looks good I’ve been wanting to try out the Kawami4.And have you ever sprayed the wet bed on something only to see crap like a hair or bug fall into it?haha what a pain .
GOT THE SAME GUN CARNT WAIT TO USED IT I WONDER IF IT BETTER THAN THE OLD DEVIBLISS GTI PRO BASE GUN HELPS ALOT MATE IF YOU PUT THE SETTINGS ON FOR THE BASE COATE AND THE CLEAR AS WELL ..
Fluid and fan I use same settings for clear. Pressure is maybe about 25. I don’t use a regulator anymore. But I’m gonna get one to show my exact pressure in videos.
Thank you! I have used it for clear and I love it. I actually use it for clear in my video I just uploaded of Mazda 46G. I will also be making a compilation of Kiwami for clear soon as well. Thank you for watching!
