Yes! This video brings back great memories flying with my father. Trainer 60 ✔️ traces of snow on the ground ✔️....those were definitely the good ol' days. Love your vids...thx for sharing!
My first successful plane was a Goldberg gentle lady. The trainer 40 was my first aileron plane. Flew beautiful! That was in 1989. We're about the same age. I was 15 then and self taught.
My first kit I built summer 83 was the GP TR40. What a great flying plane. I still have two GP TR40's and one GP TR20 NIB waiting to be built. One day I'll get to it. Thanks for sharing your flight.
Built 6 of the Trainer 60's 4 crashed pilot error aileron jammed on 1,the last my dad crashed. My first had a OS40,the last 2 ,one K&B 61 and the last OS 61, FSR ABC its a blast to fly! I have 2 kits I had cut from the plans that I have a OS GT-15 gasser for the first I one
Yep I miss the good ol' days too! These old trainers are too much fun. Your engine sounds lovely. My first RC plane was a Goldberg Falcon 56 with a K&B .40 and as you said "I flew the snot outa that thing". Still have that K&B and it's in a Sig Cub now, still pulling strong. Merry Christmas From Canada
Sweet airplane! Nice job flying too. I learned on that plane with a k& b .61...not exactly a trainer. I also have a super aeromaster. Maybe we're related? Allen Speer
Im with you man...I dont mind flying in the cold to as it gets dam cold here in Canada in winter....If i was in your area i would have bin right beside you with my supersporster 60....Long live the classics....
10mmJHP I know of a couple instances where planes, motors , radios, and other stuff went in the dumpster because the owner was moving and no one would buy. And this was thousands of dollars worth of RC equipment.😔🤮
Awesome job on putting that classic through it's paces I love the hovers too. My uncle learned on the 20 size version of this same exact trainer back in the 80's he trained me on it back in 1994 we both enjoyed the plane a lot he first had a Enya 21 engine on it but later upgraded to a Enya 35 ss helicopter engine with a 9x6 apc prop he didn't need to hand launch anymore with that engine on there LOL. Sadly he doesn't have the plane anymore he give it to a friend of are's he ended selling it to somebody else I think? Without ever flying it which was his lost IMHO. It's too bad it isn't being kitted anymore I found some plans for it online a few years back.
@@n1114v I saw him fly pattern here in Vegas back around '79, I think. AMA regionals, as I recall. To paraphrase him during one flight, " Half Cuban-8. How does that go again?"
Thank you for the kind words I really appreciate it! This plane was built from a set of Great Plains plans since the kit has not been available for almost 30 years.
Great flying Andy, and a lovely plane! Does this have dihedral as per plan, or is the wing flatter? (I'm currently building a Bridi RCM Trainer Jr 52" span)
my name is Greg and I really enjoyed your video. I did see your flight on Christmas day as well. I have a big favor to ask you, if you would be willing to copy your prints for the trainer 60. I have the same plane that is now crashed and I need to rebuild the fuse. its a long story ,but the wings are great because they came off in flight and landed on the beans this summer. you can pretty much figure out what the front fuse looks like. if you will I will be willing to pay you for your time and materials.
you shit head, its been there the whole time. thanks, I guess my thirty years puts me in the same category as you . what a freek, I saw your video about your troll. I cant find him, I was going to mess with him . thanks again.
