Quality of the media does not take away from the quality of the teaching, thanks for the wisdom Rufus

What a clear and, above all, powerful explanation. It's a lot for me, but I always get something out of this lesson. Thank you very much for your public(s). Kind regards from the Netherlands!

Despite most of your content being above my knowledge and skill level, I still watch it. I've bought two books by Joe Hubbard one about chord tones, one about harmony and they are making your content a lot more accessible. I have an idea about what you explained in this video and I will try to study it a bit later on. Thank you!

Now I took the time to watch this with my instrument, it taught me a lot. First that I have to learn half-whole/whole half scale, it seems essential for soloing. I've also reminded myself that I am not forced to start my phrase on the root of the chord (I've just started learning inversions), that C minor pentatonic phrase starting at Eb really gave me some new ideas. I've immediately made my own variations on the theme, because I like it, and because it was hard to hear/see some of the stuff you did with the half-whole scale even at 25% speed :) But it's mostly because I'm not that used to the sound and shapes of it. So, this lesson being "lo-fi" didn't take anything away from the great content. I don't see it as such, the sound quality is good, video quality is good and the content is great. Thank you again.

do you have any advice or exercises on learning the notes on the fretboard with fluency?
@rufusbass
@rufusbass 7 месяцев назад
Hey apologies for late reply- Yes- learn everything with at least 2 different fingerings and practice SLOW to begin. Make sure you are aware of exactly what note you are playing-don't just rely on a finger pattern alone.

Gm7 use C half whole diminished scale?
@rufusbass
@rufusbass 3 месяца назад
C half whole dim perfect on say a C7b9 ( or where you want to IMPLY that sound) on the G min 7 you could try G dorian, G min pentatonic, etc etc- experiment-set up a looper w G-7 to C7b9 and practice moving between those
