I LOVE GREAT PYRENEES!I have one.her name is Aspen.we got her 1 year ago.there great dogs.there good guard dogs and sweet calm gentle Giants I love them so much
There are.but I had a helmet on and my Great Pyrenees saw it.she started barking and growing then when I walked towards her dierection she started running.her feet started to slide to the left as she ran.they slide under the table.(she looked like a cartoon character running lol) and then my beagle saw her running and she did the same.the the thing I think is funny is that she could kill me if she wanted to but she chose to be afraid of me lol
@@ellatrails97 Yes! They can strike enough fear to make a grown man pee his pants. I've also had that happen, where one of the dogs, for some reason, doesn't recognize one of us right away. They ARE guardian dogs after all. And they are very, very good at their job.
@@Wildgrovehomestead yes they are.But sometimes they think there a lap dog🙄 because my Great Pyrenees will just sit on me like she isn't a gigantic giant lol😂
She was a VERY good mother and not overwhelmed at all. This video was just a funny snapshot of their lives at this moment. The puppies are nice a roly-poly, certainly getting enough food. They nursed all the way to 8 1/2 weeks, although mom would only tolerate it a couple times a day by then. Around 3 weeks is just around the time that the puppies started on very wet, mashable puppy food.
'Reject' would be the wrong word. We kept one of the pups. The mom and pup evolved into really good, friendly buddies. As the puppy grew, she nursed less and less. The mom would stop and stand still for a bit to allow nursing, but then just walk away. Eventually, the puppy just stopped. It was a natural weaning.

Even well meaning people get it wrong sometimes. The mother is anxious only because of den condition. She must jump in which instinctively incorrect - risk of injury to her pups; slipping on the paper. You get it. Try creating a den where she can enter and quiet; less light calm
fanofyou62 That could be right for some dogs in some situations, but at this particular time, she was just getting tired of nursing. She wanted to be with people or be outside. She was getting weary of the pups. It was about at this time that we started feeding the pups puppy food to supplement the constant nursing. They gobbled up their wet slop happily and continued to nurse till they were 8 weeks old and went to their forever homes.
Oh no, last summer I went to Armenia and convinced my aunt to adopt a puppy that looks just like these ones.... she's gonna get a giant dog in a few years ;-;
Blankets would have been a bad idea, actually. At this point in their development we ended up changing the newspaper almost every hour or so as the little ones pooped and peed like pros. I would have needed a thousand blankets to have kept up with them. Also, the puppies were not able to move well yet and blankets would have posed a suffocation danger at this stage. The mom, Ursa, was a trooper and was quite comfortable on the ground. When she wasn't with her puppies she had her own cushioned dog bed which she loved.
Yes, the mother is overwhelmed. The puppies are screaming their heads off and the reluctant mother had to be coaxed just to come near the box, and coaxed again to get in it. That poor dog needed some help and relief.
@@valerietrieu4162 So what! The pups are not suffering by waiting JUST a few minutes before feeding. Besides, did you pay really attention to the video? Look at the pups; all, all look very healthy. Its obvious they received very good care from their mother and owner.
www.banfield.com/pet-healthcare/additional-resources/article-library/everyday-care/nutritional-care-for-orphaned-puppies-and-kittens?BanfieldBuildReleaseTag=20171204 "How much should I feed the kitten or puppy? A well fed puppy will be content and restful and does not typically cry until just before feeding time. A puppy that cries consistently is not doing well and should be taken to the Veterinarian for an examination. Typically a puppy or kitten will eat about 1 oz (30 mls) of commercial puppy formula for every 8 oz of body weight (1/2 pound) in a 24 hour period. So using the table below, divide total amount of formula needed for 24 hours into the number of feeding listed based on age. For example a 1 week old puppy that weighs ½ pound (8 oz) will eat 30 mls of formula in 24 hours. 30 mls of formula ÷ 8 feedings = about 4 mls of formula per feeding."
Yup. It was at this time that the puppies started to get puppy chow soaked in warm water. They continued to eat puppy chow and nurse less and less through 8 weeks of age, then slowly they left with their new families.
I always like to focus on the runt and their attempts at feeding. They seem to be overwhelmed by their brothers and sisters and struggle to get in there. In this situation they'll be alright but the poor runts on stray videos are so sad. Without help, they continue to fall behind in getting mom's milk and often don't make it.
Jim Porter. We've had the honor and real pleasure of being able to raise and live with all different kinds of animals over the last decade or so as our children grew. Many don't ever get that chance. It's a shame.
Jim Porter Sad part is many Don't Know. And us Pyrenees aren't for newbies either lol. But these guys seem Fine. Amazing how tough we sound even weeks old !!!
They're acting like they're desperately hungry, it seems like they should have been with the mum earlier (unless she didn't want to feed them, of course). But seeing hungry, frantically crying puppies isn't very cute :-/
These are large dogs; the puppies look big enough to be given some other supplemental food. The mother dog seems to sense this. Why aren't you taking better care of them?
I agree...they are big puppies and I bet the mom feels every bite and pull of the nipple...very painful especially when there are 9...human female cry when there is one
Anthony Sanders--You're right! These pups had very sharp little teeth by this point. That's why this is about the time we started them on puppy chow soaked in water. They gobbled that stuff up soooooo fast and still nursed all the way through 8 weeks.
The mother should be with the puppies all the time unless she is out hunting for food. So where is this mother dog and what backyard breeding situation holds puppies in chewable wood crate with chewable cardboard woven through the slats? All of it is very dangerous for teething puppies for so many reasons I wonder if there is a veterinarian involved at all.
He shouldn’t tease them puppies like that let them eat they know they’re hungry or they get this little bit of milk you got six puppies they’re seven and it’s hard for the money to feed them all
@@lilmizzconteh Exactly. You're spot on. This video of the pups and the mom was when they pups were 2.5 WEEKS old (see description under video). By the time they were 8.5-9 weeks old they were already in their new homes with their new families and had no interest in continued nursing.
L Friedrich oh that makes sense must have read it wrong My bad. But they are massive if they are only two weeks and quite strong too. Are they all hers ? Thank GOD we have our in singular or twins
@@lilmizzconteh Yup, all hers. Great Pyrenees are big dogs. The dad weighed over 100# and the mom was around 70#. I know that one of these puppies got to around 125# at their prime. Great Pyrs are wonderful, fluffy, smart, smart dogs. We miss them.
Feed them please the noise is awful - you know the are hungry. Just get the food!! Why prolong it - just for the video I presume - not much fun for thenpuppies
These little guys got the best nutrition from their mom. Commercial food could not possibly compare to what mothers give their offspring. This was the very beginning of the mom slowly weaning them. Lol, they are nowhere near going hungry. Nothing was "prolonged", we just did a quick documentation of a moment in time
Poor momma would rather not thank you - get a few bottles going - poor momma I’d make a run for it if I were you Look at momma’s face - I’m not doing this again in a hurry. There are far too many of them - I don’t know why you think it’s so funny laughing in the background there are far far too many of them like I said- you try it!,,,,,
Yeah should be ashamed of yourself keep the mother wife and him puppies that long and that she don’t think they hers anymore she have to go around smell each one of my new she don’t want to be none on because of human behavior you are very ignorant
In the woman that filming the puppies crying telling the mother dog to get in there they're hungry they hungry how cruel can you be two animals you guys do not need those dogs
