4:19 I was in Copland Road end for Doddie's goal from free kick where he ran over ball and wee Tommy chipped the wall for Alex to volley it home. One of the best set play goals I have seen in the flesh. Copland Road end was magic in those days.

This takes me back to the good old days of football. Playing on icy pitches in the snow. Now most modern players are just snowflakes. I saw my first Rangers game in 1978 aged 14. Many of those playing in the video played that day, John Greig, Sandy Jardine, Bobby Russell, Alex McDonald, Derek Johnstone. And of course there was the sublime Davie Cooper, who remains my favourite Rangers player to this day. Thanks for posting, I feel younger.

Derek Johnstone must have created some kind of record in the 1977/78 season. He scored in 3 consecutive games at Hampden Park in just over a week. The Scottish Cup Final v Aberdeen, Scotland v Northern Ireland and Scotland v Wales - all headers.

@@gunternetzer9621 Big Derek scored 38 goals in the 1977/78 Treble winning season. He got 210 career goals for Rangers, and even played centre back on occasions. It's interesting in these clips how many players in the 70s spent their whole career at Rangers. Johnstone, Jackson, Tam Forsyth, Peter McCloy, Alex McDonald, Sandy Jardine. They seemed to be with us forever.

The finest and fittest squad in the history of ibrox ..Jock Wallace and Tommy Craig knew the score !..how many players in that era went onto management media and have all shone since then ...bless my dad Tom ..the seeds that were planted blossomed in to 1972 barc bears ...history that can never be removed or changed ! WATP❤
