as someone who is working on an LFS install, i've found that using a virtual machine is perfect as you can pause and save them. i run the vm on my server, work on it a couple hours a week, have it compile in the background and save it at the end of the day. it's a great timesaver, especially because i can simply close my laptop and the vm will keep running.

For recommendations, there's also this French Dawn of War Let's player that started doing Linux News a few years back. Fair disclaimer, dude does some highly unorthodox stuff, like having good production values, not sitting in his man cave with only his server rack and five monitors for illumination or genuinely liking Gnome. But his videos are quite entertaining, always a joy to see in my feed. Dude also started a 40K voice acting channel and hasn't been uploading in a while…

The possibility of making a 15 minute Video of how and where to learn linux might, in my oppinion, scare completely new users away. My advice, and how I learned everything, is just use any Distro with a big community and dont think about if or how linux is different and just look things up you are trying to do. That way you only learn what you actually need.
@TheLinuxEXP
@TheLinuxEXP 5 месяцев назад
Well, you’d also need that when using windows or macOS for the first time, or for anything new you’re trying to use?
@USBPixel

Absolutely, the way I suggest here is just how I learn everything. By just using it. Still great Video btw. but in my opinion just not for complete newcomers but rather for relatively new users who are already interested in learning more.@@TheLinuxEXP
