I wouldn't be super happy about the 2-2-2 layout if I were flying alone. The breakfast look blah, not sure if there was a hot food option. Thumbs up for chocolate at the snack bar!

Great video! For me, however, lack of direct aisle access would be a showstopper, especially if I were paying cash for a business class seat.

In 2017, Lufthansa revealed its new business class product, which still isn’t actually available on any planes This new business class product was supposed to debut on the Boeing 777-9, but those have been delayed until late 2023 at the earliest More recently Lufthansa revealed it would debut its new business class in 2022 on either the 787 and/or A350

Who needs direct aisle acces? If you want one, book an aisle seat, preferably in the middle if you’re traveling alone. A/C and G/K are oriented parallelly towards the window, while the middle seats are more separate from each other (feet to the middle) for more privacy (this is unlike e.g. on 747/8 in the upper deck). In my opinion, the layout and comfort are really fine.

I was actually shocked to see such poor seat layout. I usually fly British Airways business class, and at least they have the privacy partition you can put up between seats. It is great when you fly alone and don't want the person sitting next to you staring at you the entire time. Also, they have way more room to get in and out of your seat than the Lufthansa layout. I was considering them for a trip in the fall, but will stick with BA. Thanks for the video!

That was our go to Business Class seat on the Lufthansa A380. Perfect for couples but not nearly as good as the ME3. We may have to try it once it is safe to travel. Maybe in 2023. That bath in the 'bathroom' tour was very short and narrow but the lid would prevent splashing. 😁

@Stuff Broken Here Thanks. You're right, Stuff is Broken Here. Travel is ALLOWED if you are vaccinated, not safe. If you are vaccinated you can still get infected and become contagious. If you are infected you may develop symptoms that are not as severe as if you are un-vaccinated and hospitalization may not be required. I will not sit in a tube for fourteen hours with 400 people who are so irresponsible as not to care if they become infectious and pass it to others and may infect my wife and I. I don't want ANY symptoms, no matter how mild, and I don't want to pass the infection to my family and friends just because someone is so irresponsible as to say 'screw the rest of the world, I'm going on holiday'. Until there is NO risk for me or my wife becoming infected, it is not safe to travel. I.e., when Covid is as dead as the Spanish Flu travel is not safe. My wife and I travelled from the UK to Asia, Australia and Europe a few times a year. There is nothing we want more than to travel, but not yet. If you want to become a 'speader', bon voyage.

Awesome review man!! While not really a "five star" business class like what Skytrax claims it to be, LH definitely looks superb. I thought it was kinda weird though how they were still playing the safety video on takeoff, but still such a cool view!!

In terms of service it definitely beat the US carriers. But, the seat design is a bit dated - DL, AA and UA’s business class seats would have been a bit better. They started the safety video late, and it’s a quick taxi from T1 over to 13R. Thanks for watching!

I actually stayed at the TWA Hotel at JFK on July 5th. I had a good two night stay there. I also flew into JFK on the 5th of July on a DELTA CRJ-900 from DTW in first class

@@NewYorkAviation I saw your Lufthansa A350(D-AIXL) Land at JFK from Munich at my room at the TWA Hotel. It is cool that I saw the same aircraft that you flew on come in to take you to Europe. I also saw a Lufthansa A340-300 registered as D-AIGS take off from JFK bound for Frankfurt. I actually happen to have a Herpa Lufthansa A340-300 registered as D-AIGS, this model has the football/soccer nose. I thought it was a cool sight to see.

Very nice. Thank you. I'm not impressed with that seat though. In today's world there is no reason to have a business class seat with no aisle access. The lack of privacy is an issue also. And from what I could see, the food was not inspiring. U can't comment on the wine list but that is important to me also. My 'go-to' airline is Singapore. Their business seats, menus, and amenities are superior.

Great video, thanks! I'm not sure though I would use the term "Impressive" in the title of this video, their outdated seating arrangement is certainly not impressive :) Another thing I do not understand about LH is why their flights from the US to Europe leave so early (in the afternoon), they typically land in Germany when it's midnight in NY (obviously time to sleep for most passengers). Not to mention that it's almost impossible to check-in at a hotel in Germany at such an early time of the day. I must have been missing something or maybe it's just cultural? A German obsession to always be early no matter what? :)

Thanks for watching. I was impressed by the service, not so much the seat. I really do find it unusual that the flights leave so early. The Frankfurt one leaves at 3:45pm. And I thought the 5:30pm to Munich was early! I think they schedule it this way so passengers can easily connect to ongoing flights throughout Europe. The timing is terrible for jetlag though, so I wonder if they miss out on some sales because of this.

New York, JFK, during normal times sans Covid has 3 flights out of FRA and MUC each, spread throughout the day. You can pick the one most suited for your needs. LH413 leaves EWR for MUC at 20:35, and then you have the Star Alliance partner United Airlines. In general, FRA is handling the mid-morning North Atlantic flights wave, while MUC deals with the afternoon wave. There has also never been a daylight out of JFK/EWR leaving very early in the morning, like BA/VI is offering to LHR. Mainly due to the fact that an 8am departure would make a 9pm arrival in Germany, and only used by point to point passengers, making transits difficult as there are curfews in place at 11pm both in FRA and MUC. Please keep in mind, as time is money, passengers travelling for work, do not go to a hotel after arrival in FRA/MUC, but go straight into a work day, or fly onwards to places that do not have nonstop flights to New York, or other North American metropolitan areas. Subsequently, an early departure out of Europe provides for an afternoon of work after arrival in North America, while a late departure to Germany/Europe gives a whole working day before the flight. Also, depending on the conditions of flight time restrictions of the crew, some flights need a 3 pilots flight crew, when flight duty starts later in the day. Early departures allows a flight with only two pilots, saving money. Everything is planned without wasting money. Just how the cookie crumbles.

The seats look comfortable but not very large for Business Class. Did they lie completely flat? It's disappointing that one still has to climb over another person (possibly a stranger) to get out from a Business Class window seat, especially given the cost. UA's 777 Polaris is only one seat on the side and they look larger to me (though I may be wrong). If there is no First Class, Business Class needs to be even more special - more privacy as well. I did like the "snack bar" and the food service looked great.

Nice video. I see the one major drawback of Lufthansa business seats is that you have to climb over the legs of the isle passenger to get to your window seat.

Yea - it’s definitely a drawback, and I think direct aisle access should be and is the now norm. But it’s not too hard to climb over your neighbor.

Airbus installed only one hydraulic circle. With the A 380 in the beginning. The older versions ( A 330,340,300,310,320 ) had at least 2,3 or 4 ( ! ) independent hydraulic circles. The A 380 was the first Airbus with only one. So they changed the hydraulic pumps. They installed new ones with more power. Side effect is that the slats and flaps are in and out much quicker than before.

nice, but dislike Lufthansa's configuration in BC: when travelling alone, you've little privacy and have to climb over your neighbor! Catering decent but not exceptionnel! AF is much better I think.

To see Lufthansa and Austrian together gives me flashbacks to the Anschluss my mother fled from. Creepy. While Austrian's B767s' are nearly 30 years old Lufties are brand new. Maybe they should lend poor Austrian a few new planes.

It might not have looked great, but it was the best tasting airplane meal I'd had in a long while. I'm also only 16 so can't drink - alcohol was offered.

For business class, that is sorely lacking. No single window seat. No individual ceiling vent. Having a 'seat buddy' like that, and paying first class prices does not rank high. Heard Lufthansa is upgrading their first class in the summer of 2023.

You got stucked in the window seat. It's hard to jump over your neighbor's thighs not legs especially how the seats are positioned. Center seats should be better. Food looks very good.

Poor business class - Seats 2 x 2 x 2, (the best airlines have 1 x 2 x 1 on the A350 ) , Starters, Main course and desert served together all one one tray, and a cold pathetic breakfast.
