I must say, without any exaggeration, that that is one of the most beautiful custom paints jobs I've seen! And I just turned 65 2 months ago and have had an interest in this stuff since I was 9 or 10! (1960s) Seriously. Love the blue mono-color and clear on top!
Hi man! Thank you! Nothing stuck. The layers of paint were so thin that it was impossible to stick the parts of wipe. If cover with a thick layers and without intermediate drying, then something will probably stick
hey, thanks for the quick responsel i got a crazy thing happening as we speak..lol...painted a tank today, used automotive paint from a professional shop. Its a copper metallic....the tank has about 1/2 tank of fuel ....when i paint it and its wet it looks great...when it dries the top part where there is no fuel is cloudy....the bottom part where fuel is dries shiny and clear. The temperature is/ was around 16 degrees Celsius which is about 60 degrees Fahrenheit its a damp kind of day ....have you ever experienced this? i can add my email to send a pic, ive painted a lot of tanks in all temperatures but never saw this before....any help would be great
I've never had anything like this. 16 temperature for painting is not very good, too low. Usually, all manufacturers indicate the minimum required temperature for using paint / clear . If you want, you can show the photo to instagram or telegram. I think the easiest way is to drain all the gasoline and try to paint without it
I did some research....I guess the term for the issue is called " blushing" its when the humidity in the air is high amd the cooling of the solvents create a mousture when the dewpoint is reached???....anyway it was too humid and I created the perfect storm for the moisture to form....the cold part of the tank where the fuel was offset the temperature to the good...and thats why that part dried properly
I really like the napkin-texture, the tank turned out really cool. By the way, saw your mask hanging on the wall. The A2 filters hold up longer if you store them in a small sealed container, since activated coal reacts with moisture in the air.
I'm 65 And I have always been into the older cars and most all Bike's, I've seen a lot of videos like this one, But this is the first one that I have decided to do to my Bike, It looks great and he makes it seem to be easy enough to do.. I will find out how easy or hard it is in the next day or two. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Is the material you use as a stencil to spray over at 3:12 baby wipes? Because it seems most that I saw on an online search just now have geometric patterns on them, and/or are scented or have moisturizing oils in them. I suppose the geometric patterns, depending on one's goals, can actually be a good thing. What exactly is the product that you use? Because material with oils soaked into them I imagine would not be the most desirable. Thanks!
These are ordinary cheap antibacterial wipes. Soaked in alcohol or something like that. You’re right, you don’t need to use wipes with oil in this case
That is absolutely stunning !! I love the old school custom style of painting with metal flake and candy, I wish you could paint my car,! but you did inspire me to try this technique, even though I am a total novice when it comes to painting, what color candy paint did you use?? thanks very much for posting!!
Thanks man, that's very nice, I appreciate it. I don't paint at the moment, but I'm looking forward to getting back to it. I do not remember the name of the paint, it was a long time ago
Hi! At the right temperature, the paint dries quickly, especially if the paint layer is thin. You can remove the tape after 10 minutes after finishing work, or you can immediately, because while you are doing the right side, the left side has already dried. Just try it on something to see how fast your paint dries, and then paint the details of your motorcycle
