I have been there 4 or 5 times. This is a great experience. When you climb high enough, there was a hero's spot where you can take pictures. It takes some guts but this is mankind's greatest effort for national defense extending several thousand miles !

I like this place very much , the first place I wanted to visit is Great Wall when I visited Beijing in 2003

@PrincessHv101 I visited this section of the Wall in 2005, it was about 20% less busy then what you see here. It's the closest part of the wall to Beijing, the further you get out the less busy it is. We hiked about 5 miles of it, and were almost by ourselves. You have to be in good shape, but it's well worth it. It's just an unexpainable feeling to be there, it's so grand and magnificent.

WOW BEAUTIFUL CHINA.

It was very crowded because it was in the middle of their 8-day National Day celebration. Their is no school or work in that period. The weather was also spectacular. Your date probably falls during that holiday, I was their the first week of October as well. It was a 3-Day Princess tour prior to a Southeast Asia cruise.

I really hope that they do some investigation on it.

Probably it's the weekend or public holiday? I was there in 2008 and there weren't nearly as that many people. But it was an exhausting hike to climb to the top of the mountain.

thanks for the video. Our day on the Great Wall was the day after the Holiday and there was hardly anyone on the Wall. Almost completely empty, same spot as you went to Badaling. We were very fortunate. I would have had a rough time with what you dealt with. john

Are you kidding me you want to reach the end of the wall? For you information, the length of the great wall is 8,851.8 km (5,500 miles) long from Hushan in Liaoning and Jiayuguan Pass in Gansu. The wall in Beijing measures over 550 km (342 miles) long.
