90% of me wanted to see that shark go beast mode

I tell you one thing if that was me, that paddle board would be looking like it has a 250hp outboard on it.

I love how these dudes are smiling and laughing like the water can turn red in seconds everything's funny till it knocks you off your board

In the end, everybody died. Even the sharks. A lone octopus swam off into the sunset, content with his victory over both man and shark. RIP to all.

What I like to think when I watch these vids is... 3 years ago I was having a normal day... and at that exact same time someone was paddle boarding next to a frickin shark

Nope. Nope, nope, nope. I LOVE sharks, but the hell if I want to be near them while I'm on a PADDLE BOARD! I would have been shaking so hard from fear that I would have fallen off. The last thing I would be doing is chuckling and pointing at him like he's a tourist attraction.

After watching this video, i've decided to not only never go in the ocean again - i'll probably never take a bath again either...just to be sure.

And they always blame it on the shark😒

When I was young and stupid I used to do this kind of stuff. After 4 years in the military and 27 years as a firefighter/emt, I have seen alot of people die doing stupid stuff and make better decisions.

An amazing moment but reaching out to touch it with the paddle is a dick move. That could have made the situation ugly very quickly.

What a beautiful animal! They are absolutely magnificent predators, and it’s a rare gift to see them this way.

As surfers, sharks go by us all the time. If you don't flail and panic they just kinda check you out, bump you maybe, and just kinda hang around sometimes because they're curious. Circling is actually a good thing, whites have to keep moving to breathe so they circle to keep looking at you but keep breathing. If you see one head straight at you at speed, that's when you have to take it seriously. Most of the time the shark is just chilling and looking for skates or fish. Discovery channel has made people paranoid. Sharks swim past me out on the surf all the time, it's their home. In Hawaii I would regularly see sharks around my feet while in the lineup, they're not frenzied killers just another animal trying to survive.

These Great Whites were young.. I doubt these guys would be as relaxed if it was full grown on the prowl.

I mean, at the end ... feet dangling in the water ... after chasing him around ... kinda just wish the shark would have given a LITTLE nibble. Nahmean?

Harmless juvenile just like most of the sitings around here.. If you leave the allonym should be fine, all they eat at that size is fish before moving north to hunt mammals.

They're just babies!!! its probably a great white shark nursery area of some sort. The babies are not dangerous to people, but obviously must of been very exciting to have come across on paddle boards!

Breaking news, the scene, a horrific site at Huntington Beach, a man was fatally attacked and mauled by a great white shark at 3PM today... and he filmed his own death. People at the scene say he thought the sharks were his friends, we take you live to the scene, Steve.

Sharks are not as vicious as people make them out to be . I surfed for about 25 years so I've seen a shark or 2 in the water with me . the only time I got scared is when I drifted into a shark feeding frenzy and didnt realize it until a couple of the sharks bumped against my board while they were feeding . that scared the hell out of me for sure . im still amazed 5 years later that I didnt get bit . I guess the good Lord was looking out for me that day . but I got the hell out when the wave came my way . and I had a couple of nice dings in my board from where they hit my board . its some wild shit I promise you

i saw some drone footage of Great whites that was filmed off the coast of california, and there are surprisingly more great white sharks just chilling about while there are alot of surfers around them they even get very close to each other but they tend to ignore the surfers.

Admiring the awesomeness of this animal is part of the risk. I think they know the possible risks.Look what happened to the Crocodile hunter. He was admiring wildlife all his life. He knew the risks and it ended up killing him.

Huntington Beach was our hangout when I was a kid. Senior ditch day, a group of us ditched and went to see Jaws, and then went to Huntington Beach. I swear, we saw Great White Sharks in every whitecap.

First off, thank you for sharing this awesome moment with everyone, thank you for helping change some preconceived notions and hopefully help with conservation. I hope to one day appreciate great whites at any age or size some day, and not from a screen. But definitely NOT on a paddle board. I'd be on a bigger boat lol Sharks have a bad rep, they are like most predators, they're not stupid animals, there's a complex conscience - they know where they sit in the scheme of things and they know what they're capable of. These sharks looks small and in good condition, they must be young. That said, they can still cause plenty of damage if they wanted to. If they felt like investigating one of those paddle boards (or paddle boarders) they could cause some serious injuries. To say that these guys were in no danger at all would be really, really foolish. I'm not saying they'd attack and/or eat the paddle boarders, but if they felt like flexing some prowess or practice some skills, if they for whatever reason felt threatened or annoyed, or curious to know what those new things in the water are they have what it takes. These ones seem quite gentle and placid, just out for an equally casual swim but there's no guarantee. It's like here in Canada, I see people walking up to bull elk in rut and trying to pet them or hand feed them french fries because they think the elk are herbivores and therefore the elk are gentle and won't hurt them. Nope. Elk aren't out to get people either, but if they felt like it they have what it takes to fend off bigger, tougher, meaner animals than human beings. Bottom line, I'd be panicking, I'd probably be petrified to even put the paddle back in the water lol I think I'd be doing my best job to be invisible. "This is an amazing moment but I'd like to be home now. K thnx bye."

Someone in the comments said that you have a better chance of being hit by a car than attacked by a shark. Well yes, because there are way more people around way more cars than there are people around sharks. I love the ocean from an observational standpoint, and I will never call anyone "stupid" for going near sharks, but they are unpredictable animals. Full grown White sharks (these weren't, I understand that) are apex predators. They'll bite what they want when they want to. Even if they don't want to eat you, that simple bite to see if you're tasty could remove a limb, or cause you to bleed out while trying to get back to shore for help. This was some cool and scary footage!

I tell my friends I'm never more closer to God then when I surf every minute I check in with God and make sure we're still cool because of these types of scenarios
