I remember that footage from the Herald Sun's 150 Years of Australian Rules Football. So lucky to have brought those DVDs from the paper in Melbourne at the time in 2008 as I have never seen any DVD release of those that would have been a good reminder of how far this game has come.

Love watching Daicos, the man was something else. Would have been fun to see Gary Ablett's goal in the 2nd quarter of the 92 GF, I remember that as a great one as well.

With no 50m in the old days it's harder to tell how far out they really were so it just adds to the legend

Malcolm Blight's and Jeff Fehring's goals were OK but the YT video of "Wills' 100 metre goal" (Rupert Wills for Collingwood) was from near the half back flank on the field!

Notice how they kick the ball similar to a football punt (with the goal of maximum distance) A very acute angle, and kicking the ball with the plant of your foot (and not your toe) with the wind in favor will beat the shit out of physics

5:04 is a monster 60m out and goes through at post height 0:20 is a massive one aswell from the middle

only one player ive ever seen could regularly line up inside the centre square off a few steps & put a drop punt through post high -Sav rocca, the longest kick we will ever see by a mile, no doubt !

i didnt think all of these were long bombs, yes some great goals, but other from 50m just dont cut it, you want a modern day long bomb, go to quintyn lynches 80m goal

Too many from inside 50. There is also a goal from Percy Jones, Carl v Rich 70-80's. Ruck infringement Jones kicks a goal from the free, man on mark center of the ground. Cannot find it her though.
