It is the mark of a wise racing team. A wise jockey will pace the horse first, then slowly work its way up to the front and then move at the right time, its patience and judgement in unison.
Just wonderful, I have been researching "what does handicapping mean in horse racing?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Siyaria Nonpareil Superiority - (just google it ) ? It is a great one of a kind product for discovering how to bet on winning horses without the normal expense. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my mate got great success with it.
This was great, I been tryin to find out about "how to win at horse race betting" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Siyaria Nonpareil Superiority - (search on google ) ? It is an awesome one off guide for discovering how to bet on winning horses without the hard work. Ive heard some super things about it and my mate got cool results with it.
You should watch Secretariat's last to first move in the 1973 Preakness stakes. The turn he made his move in is a very dangerous turn and it was the first turn on the track.THAT MOVE IS THE MOVE HE IS MOST REMEMBERED FOR.
I just came to this video from a Secretariat vid. I'd never seen the Preakness race before. It's truly incredible. I'd only ever seen the Belmont where he just obliterates everyone. I didn't realize he started off slow out of the gates in the previous two races. Well, look, I'm not a horse race guy. I don't know that "slow out of the gates" is the right term for those races haha. Amazing stuff, though!
No, they are the ones that disagree with horse racing I mean look at them whipping those horses away I know they are bred for it but its cruel not all owners are cruel but the sport is.
This was great, I been tryin to find out about "quarter horse race tracks in texas" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Panliana Acclaimed Preference - (should be on google have a look )? It is an awesome one off product for discovering how to get effective horse racing betting tips minus the headache. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my buddy got great success with it.
Great horse. You should check out the Kaleidascopio race from Chicago. He was so far back, the announcer said...."and far, far,far far back is Kaleidascopio", then when the horse wins he goes "kalediascopio where did he come from"
One horse power is one force Oats and corn is the source Horse racing I do not endorse Yelling at a horse gets one hoarse Winner a Jockey knowing a horse
The greatest horse I remember having watched in these kind of last to first finishes is Chautauqua, amazing horse, please do search and watch his races
I liked his Brooklyn Cap win better, he was farther back and on an off track. The competition was not as stiff and the time was slow, but still it was an amazing effort
One that hasn't been mentioned yet is Silky Sullivan in the 1958 Santa Anita Derby. He came from like 40 lengths off the lead and the phrase "a silky" or "a silky Sullivan" entered the American vernacular to describe any impressive come from behind victory.
Dia, I give you 10 stars. I saw him run few times at Aqueduct and Bemont. Behind him and Seattle Slew all others were just horses. They dont make them like years ago anymore.
@Diamonds_BTS_ Leathers we all know he was one of the greats. But MINE THAT BIRD!! One of the greatest upsets of all time. I mean, NO ONE saw that coming
Santa Anita Racetrack in Arcadia, Ca. The time stamp for the video's upload says January, 2018, but the Breeder's Championship races are usually run in November, so possibly this race took place in 2017? EDIT: I checked and CALIDOSCOPIO ran as a 9-year old in this race, a record for being the oldest and the first Argentine-bred horse. He was born in 2003, so that would mean 2012 for the race year. He went on to win the Brooklyn the following year as a 10-year old. On Pedigreequery.com, they are wanting information on CALIDOSCOPIO's whereabouts. No one can find him. Supposedly, he stood at stud at Haras La Quebrada in Argentina.
Long ago I used to ride in the morning gallops a British bred horse who once in a 1 mile and 2 furlongs race soon after the start was last by 100 mts off the pack and won by 3 and a half lenghts! In his racing career I seem his best score was when he finished 2nd by a head in Premio Parioli Gr I in Italy.
This was a great race. It gave me chills. However, to say "it's the greatest race EVER, puts it up against the Triple Crown winning race with Secretariat finishing the race forty lengths (40!!!) ahead of the second place horse. THAT was the greatest race EVER! So, I only mention this because of the title being incorrect. It isn't an opinion-based statement. It's an historical fact. But, this video is so impressive...but for the false claim.
I don’t know horse racing history. So, thank you for pointing out other races to check out. I was a successful sprinter and hurdler, in the 80’s. I’ve loved seeing videos tapes, back in the day, of horse races, as a training study. I’d watch for that spark, that moment when a racer lifts, and lets the physical surrender to its Will/ the Spirit. That shift into Mach drive. So, I was brought to tears, when I saw the footage of Secretariat’s Triple Crown win, for the first time. It was probably 10 years after the actual race, but it was still being talked about. I’m going to look into the races, that you mentioned. Thanks.
@Sophia Schommer you're missing the point Secretariat won by 31 lengths never done at Belmont also his record time which over 48 years later still hasn't been broken. Man-o-war also a phenomenal horse like Secretariat I agree. But this race that we are just watching is not the greatest win in all history that's the point.
People should Check out the 1967 Grand National race at Aintree, Liverpool, England, GB/UK!, where 100/1 outsider, Irish Horse "Foinavon" Won after being the only Horse to Clear the 23rd Fence at the first time of asking, the other 40 odd Horses fell, refused, brought down or hampered!, The Fence was named after Foinavon in 1984!. Carnage!.
It was absolutely brilliant but it isn’t the best one in history but I’m not saying it was bad but it isn’t the best in history but it was absolutely brillaint

Very nice victory; unfortunately, not the greatest come from behind. Watch Secretariat in the 1973 Derby and Preakness...or most races he won. This was something Secretariat did quite frequently.
@Diamonds_BTS_ Leathers Trevor Denman is a sportscaster and public-address announcer specializing in Thoroughbred horse racing. You're replying to my comment about an announcer with the name of a horse.
Zenyatta breeders cup crushed this race even though i had this race and was there at the front runner Your obviously an amateur handicapper This race is like 450th greatest of all time win
What I wished I could have seen is a match race where all the greatest racehorses would race such as Phar Lap, Seabiscuit, Secretariat, War Admiral, Black Caviar, Winx. It would be the greatest horse race the world has ever seen.
You need to see a last to first it was at happy valley horse name was Dragon Duke it was on a Friday night he was last come around corner 400m to go still last not in the picture last 200m Dragon Duke n4 $136/1 was running 3 to there 1 he wins running away 1 of the greatest win I ever seen especially when I had 3x3 on him thinking the last 400m what a waste getting out of my chair look at race 200m to go I couldn't believe what I saw biggest smile never forget that frill and backed a longer price horse 199$ called encounted last year unreal try and sew that race Dragon Duke trainer Dan Meager horse has changed name not long after
How in the world is this the greatest horse race win in history LOL. This was an exciting win but nowhere near as exciting as Secretariat's win at the Belmont Stakes in 1973.
Paused at 2:30 and I'm big into thoroughbred's. And if you are as well don't make statements beginning with "greatest", unless you just want to piss people off. Who wins this?...who cares?
Amazing! Horses are such great athletes. When I wrote "Black Deuce," I had the athletic ability of horses very much in mind. Available in ebook, paperback & audiobook. If you luv horses & racing, you'll enjoy the book: www.amazon.com/Black-Deuce-Stan-D-Jensen-ebook/dp/B0721YVFXL/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=
None of these in this race are good horses. Like all modern horses they are product of cheating. Can see almsot every horse steuggling badly with form running only on jacked up juice. Horse racing ruined by greed decades ago
