In this 1954 movie "Un Americano a Roma" Alberto Sordi plays the role of a young man (Nando). June 15th 2020 Italy will be celebrating 100 years from Sordi's date of birth and I want more people around the world to get to know this incredible versatile actor with 138 movies in his career.
In addition to the comic aspect, the film is a penetrating costume satire of post-war Italy, brilliantly highlighting the heterophile myth of America, a land longed for, whose clothes and habits were known only through cinema, comics, magazines!
