People have probably pointed this out, but Jean and Connie holding each other on the cliff as the rest of the group fled made me finally realise they were the only 2 characters in our main group, there since the start, who had no titan abilities, no special Ackermann abilities, and always there in the action on the frontline. A few fun facts: 1) Eren didn't open his eyes during rumbling, he opened his eyes in his last breath just to see Mikasa 2) Mikasa wrote “Here forever rest peacefully, my most beloved, my dear. 854” on Eren’s grave. The first two times Mikasa visits Eren’s grave she put four roses which means nothing will come between two people who love each other but cannot be together / tragic love. The last time she put one rose which means “you are still THE one". 3)A white flower was placed during her death, which symbolizes purity and virginity. So, taken together, Mikasa's flowers send the message that she won't forget Eren, she still loves him (but believes he can no longer love her back), she will remain devoted to him, and she is waiting. 4)They spent 4 years living together in Paths (ch. 138) And only when he “passed away” there, was she able to kill him in the real world. (it was a gift to them from Ymir) 5)In the ending credits where Eren and Mikasa were buried, an old man Armin still visiting their graves. He was the last to die from the trio, just like when they were kids running to the tree, he was the last one who reaches the tree.

Just like Kenny said. Everyone is a slave to something. Eren was a slave to freedom and Ymir was a slave to love. For 2000 years she was waiting for someone to show her it was okay to let go of that love and when Mikasa killed the man she loved to save the world that did it. God this show is amazing. I’m really gonna miss it.

Ymir thought that obedience was love.But Ymir,who thirsts for freedom also had doubts about it.That's why I wanted to see Mikasa's actions in falling in love with a terrible man like the first king Fritz.(Although I don't think Eren is as much of a crap as the first king Fritz)Mikasa showed that it is also love that stops horrific acts.Ymir was convinced and stopped protecting the first king Fritz from the assassins.The power of the titan was no longer inherited by the daughters,and the power of the titan disappeared.

@dariusporter358
@dariusporter358 6 месяцев назад
@@alphagamer9505 you can’t change the past. When it showed Karl Fritz dead and Ymir holding her kids, that was just Ymir thinking back on what she would have done in that moment with her new perspective. The reason Titan powers are gone now is cause Ymir is gone. When ever a Titan was created it was Ymir who created it. After Mikasa showed her that she could let go of Fritz, Ymir moved on and thus so did the Titan curse. If Ymir actually changed the past, which you can’t do in the AOT verse, it wouldn’t just get rid of the Titan powers. It would have changed A LOT more stuff in the world.

I really like how Carter points out that if you view the ending as “well it was for nothing, everything is pointless” you fall into Zeke’s mentality. The cycle will never stop, war will happen but it’s the little moments and understanding we can have that make life worth living. Even a boy walking in the wreckage of the world has a companion. Has something he loves and makes his life worth it.

People who have not experienced serious pain may think that even the small joys in life are worth all the pain. This means not being able to see what a destruction life is. Just as destroying is violent, creating something that you know will eventually decay is equally violent. In order to secure the lives of his friends, Eren prepared the end of the Eldia people who would live years later. This is not the power of friendship or good-heartedness, but selfishness and murder.

Sadly, the author thinks this is a realistic cycle that will never end. Yes, even in our real world we see recurring conflicts. Israel - Palestine, Russia - Ukraine, ... For me, it is a mistake to show to the world that it will never end even with a parallel to today's events. The legacy of this anime sucks. I would prefer if the anime ended on a more positive note and the cycle of war ended. That would be a better message to today's world. It would show that it can be stopped fighting when we stop being racist, etc. We saw what started the conflict in the anime, how the Marlians treated the Eldians, just because they had the power of the Titans. They didn't know that it wasn't their fault that Ymir fell where she fell and got the founding titan. That has already been forgotten. The reasons for war have always been deceptive and wrong. Paradis was not responsible for what the Marlians wanted to exterminate them for and had to defend himself somehow. Although Rumbling was not the right solution, Paradis had to somehow defend himself against the destruction. The correct solution would be for both sides to communicate as we saw when both sides were camping and Magath realized the mistake. If the cycle ended and people realized their flawed reasons for wanting to exterminate Paradis, it would be a much better ending for the anime. To the question of whether global peace is possible? Everything starts in people's thoughts. If people will doubt that such a thing is possible, then it will not be possible and therefore the concept of this ending is flawed, since the author himself is implying that wars will repeat themselves and world peace is not possible here.

Ymir and Mikasa are both bound by love to a man who does wrong. Mikasa showed Ymir that even if you love a person, when the right thing to do is to stand up to him, you do it. Ymir realized what she could have / should have done at King Fritz's assassination, refused to go back to the Coordinates to make any more titans, and passed on; and the titan power ended. At that time, all of the Survey Corps' spirits which were bound to the world were released, as their mission was finally complete. For those that still don't understand the last 1/3: they were memories that Eren buried inside of Armin's head when Eren was still alive. Eren did the same to each of his friends, and would explain to them what he must do and why. They were like his letters left to them, but in a different form. He locked those memories after the visits, to only be unlocked after he died. Armin looked differently in each segments either because Eren visited him multiple times when Armin was at different ages, or just for style reasons. But in either event, the (last? only?) memory segment was buried in Armin's head when he was on the ship with Annie. Once Eren died, all those memories were unlocked and all of a sudden they all understood Eren's true intentions. The middle scene where Eren and Mikasa spent time together was Eren illustrating to Mikasa an alternative future if she had just answered differently when Eren asked her what she thought of him, back towards the end of S4 in the camp. Mikasa refused to stay in that scene and forget him, and woke up when Eren's power ran out. Note that at the end of each of these mind illusions/memories/visits, signs of having used/expired the Titan power show on Eren's face and he must end the illusion. This shows that each of these instances has been created by Eren's titan power and only lasts for as long as his titan power lasts. The unclear bits remaining would be how an Ackerman (ok, half - but her mother's half isn't Eldian either) such as Mikasa can have her mind successfully played with by the Founder's power like that. One of the theories is that the claim that Ackerman cannot be brainwashed is a lie fabricated by the Paradis government; after all we have never seen any evidence of that and they for sure can be brought into the paths without problems. The exchange with Armin: Part of Eren's guilt was for wielding the power but not being smart and therefore he could not imagine any better solutions that could result in a better future than killing 80% of humanity. In a way he was saying if he were any smarter, or less hostile and hating, if the power had been vested in someone smarter or more peaceful like Armin, perhaps the destined future would be better - and he blames himself. Armin essentially said to Eren that he didn't need to bear all the guilt alone, that Armin is willing to share the burden, responsibilities and consequences with him, that he will be happy to spend the rest of eternity in hell together with Eren. They are facing everything together, Eren no longer needs to be alone, even in hell; it's an ultra warm gesture from Armin. At the end, Eren did save most of his friends and everyone he knew on Paradis island. History did eventually repeat itself and Paradis still met its end, but that's hundreds of years later and not relevant to anyone he knew. So agreeing with him or not, it's not that he did all these and achieved nothing. Yeah there are a lot of details buried that are easy to miss if you just watch this once. If you do a second or third watch, you will see a lot of details. Down to little ones such as Ylena pausing and getting teary eyes because the crate she was about to handle happened to contain baseballs, which reminded her of Zeke. Or that the tombstone that Mikasa left for Eren said "[Here lies] my dearest beloved, dozing off here forever, 854." (the alphabets used in Paradis are simply upside-down Japanese katakana).

The one important information about the 'Mountain scene' - this was the path which Eren would choose if he could, which he really wanted. But Mikasa's path was the one where he lives as long as possible within his destiny (everytime when Eren is about to die Mikasa has this headache - it's Ymir revising Mikasa's memories/intentions/will and alternating to different path in which Eren survive).

The manga ending compared to the shows direction feels substantially different honestly. Especially the order of the dialogue between Eren and Armin. You read it and think this is so incredibly unsatisfying and Armin is passive throughout the whole conversation with Eren's justification being unexplored or poorly executed. The show does a much better job at calling Eren's actions out and Armin to drive the themes of the series home, whilst providing closure to their friendship. However both suffer from the confusing need to mention that Eren sends Dina to kill his mother to set off the events, absolutely robs a lot of Eren's motivations from Season 1 until now. The idea that Eren has even more influence on the events was definitely not worth the plot twist and added nothing. I'm still trying to work out how it even works within the rules of the series, the time loop stuff was definitely hanging on by a thread but that line really broke it for me at the moment.

@samibalunza That's how human life is. The cycle continues because of conflicts between nations, not because of titans since they're all vanished. Eren did everything but nothing happened, the ending is still disappointingly the same like what eren said. There's nothing he can do but move forward. If he runs away with mikasa, everything would be still in shambles, and he's just waiting for his death. In the end, he would still die, and the cycle would still continue (war would still continue because of conflicts between nations, I just want to repeat it.) But at least, he fulfill his goal to give his friends freedom and to live longer.

Granted that Eren's love for Mikasa was not fully fleshed out as it could've been as per Isayama, but us as the audience were never with these character's 24/7 so there could've been moments these two shared "off camera."

What? He only exterminated titans for a very short time, relatively speaking when you consider the lifetime of Earth and the universe. They showed a boy with his dog walking into the tree several hundred years later, after Paradis had been decimated by bombs, presumably to gain titan powers and repeat the cycle of Ymir. The final message of this anime might be realistic in that humanity is doomed to repeat its mistakes but it's also a sad and pathetic ending which gives no hope for the future to the watcher. A terrible legacy for the author to have Attack on Titan leave behind. He destroyed his main character and his story.

I find the whole thing kind of poetic in a way. Right from the start of the story Eren swore he would kill all the titans and get revenge for his mothers death. Him choosing to go through with the rumbling, and Ymir ended up eliminating the titans. Also having himself die, since he said in this episode that he was the one who sent the smiling titan to his mother. Thus his death would have been the vengeance he wanted for his mothers death. So in the end Eren kept true to the vows/oath he made with himself right from the start.

The war that we see in credits is centuries later. The reason for that war is unknown, it could be anything. It is even possible that it is a war among Paraids themselves. Even if Eren wiped out the entire humanity outside the walls, who's to say there there will be peace for certain among Paradis, they may fight among themselves for some reason. The message of the ending, which was lost on many in the manga, is that as human nature dictates, there will always be conflict. However, through our choices, we can build a future where there is hope for mutual understanding. The power of the titans is gone, but violence still perpetuates. So was it the titans, or our human nature that ignited so much bloodshed?

The part with Eren saying he didn't know why he did what he did was because of obtaining the Attack Titan and Founding Titan. He essentially adopted the same ideals as Ymir and the will to fight for freedom from the Attack Titan. It turned into a messed up and cruel intention, yes HOWEVER; The main theme here was he had the same type of emotion and intention that King Fritz had by his vow renouncing war. The two go hand in hand and both were extreme regardless. With Eren choosing the path he did, it ensured the peaceful future for his friends. Once Mikasa and the rest died, that's really when the war erupted. You can see that happen in the end credit scenes. Two big take aways I found with this last chapter was that history repeats and humanity will continue to face conflict (Eren and Commander Pyxis had this discussion when they walked on the wall) and that AoT produced one of the best love stories I think I've ever had the pleasure of watching. Yes it doesn't end the way A LOT of people wanted but the love Eren had for Mikasa and vice versa cannot be compared. Her love for Eren was what gave Ymir reason to let go. Ymir couldn't kill King Fritz because she felt she was powerless and her slavery to the love she had caused her to be so stuck. That's why she chose Mikasa because she could actually kill Eren but still love him all the same. That gave Ymir closure and that's truly what she needed to rest.

Only after bloodshed and destruction the people live peacefully, but this peace lasts only for a couple of generations, after that the cycle starts all over again. What really matters is the time that we have now, the moments of joy and happiness that fill our lives. One of the many, stupidly trivial things people are still hung up on even after this finale is Annie Leonhart. Idk I think people give her too much of a hard time still. I didn't care about her on my first watch-through of aot, but then I realized her character perfectly embodies a nihilistic perspective that is very thematically relevant to AoT's story. People mainly have an issue with how she doesn't value human life, namely through how menacing she came off in the female titan arc + when she killed the Levi Squad. And to that I say: NO SHIT. Never in her life was she treated as a person; literally abused by her father and treated as a weapon. I'd argue she was worse off than Bert & Reiner in that respect, who at least had loving families. But, I agree that her redemption arc could've been done MUCH better; most of it was implied or done "off screen," which is why the characters "forgiving her" felt wrong to so many people. I had no problem with it because I understood that these characters have gotten to the point where they understand each other. They have ALL, Alliance and Warriors, been forced into dreadful positions of violence. Even Levi wasn't explicitly shown to be spiteful toward her, likely because he (unlike many braindead fans lmao) understands that she was an indoctrinated child who had a mission to complete (although, interestingly, she tried to end the Paradis mission MULTIPLE times. When that didn't work - courtesy of Reiner - she just wanted to get it over with and return back to her father, hence, the female titan arc). I also think Reiner's redemption was emphasized more because his betrayal hit harder for the main group; he actually bonded with them whereas Annie actively (and understandably) tried not to get attached. Anyway, long story short: People bring up the Levi Squad every time, even though it's been years, all while ignoring EVERYTHING else that’s developed her character. However, she did not need to be taken out of the show for 4 whole seasons. It worked, story-wise, but there was so much wasted potential there; and that's one of my biggest AoT criticisms.

The subtle scene we got in the credits where Eren’s tombstone was getting covered up by the growth of the earth around him, really hit me. The one with true intentions of self sacrifice for the potential of a greater outcome only to have his idealisms covered up and forgotten over time does make it feel like what he did was for nothing. @@OnMyLunchBreak07No I have to strongly disagree there. It absolutely was for nothing. He could've easily given his friends that peace without killing billions of innocent people. In fact he having the ability to control titans in the past and being responsible for his mother's own death shows he is responsible for the very events of the entire series anyway where all his friends had their lives uprooted and many of which DIED. Every single abnormal titan that ever hurt anyone in Paradis is now Eren's fault because he was able to stop it using the founding and attack titans powers but he didn't. So no Eren didn't offer them peace, he at best let the events happen and at worst forced it to happen like he did with his mother. Folks can argue it was predetermined, but it would only be predetermined that way because of Eren's will to begin with. If his goal was to save his friends he would never had seen a future where he wasn't doing that. So where's this "peace" for the friends? In fact if the Armin inner dialogue is to be believed all Eren's friends could have been immortal in PATHS but now since Eren went out of his way to get rid of the titan powers they are now dead. So in fact his actions made it sure they'd be dead. Yes what he did was meaningless and any other plan would have lead to a better outcome. They should've just kept his original plan of trying to destroy all of humanity instead of trying to save face and pretend like he wasn't a villain. Just let him be the villain instead of destroying his arc by trying to "redeem" his motives when they don't make sense with what was established.

My personal takeaway of the story is that even though the cycle of violence and hatred will always continue, a notion that was repeated by Erwin, Pysix, and Kyomi, we have to try our best to not perpetuate it and if we can’t we have to keep trying regardless of what the outcome may be. It’s been repeated throughout the series that human conflict will never cease. Like Niccolo said, there’s a devil in all of us; we’re all capable of violence and hatred. So what do we do? We escape the forest and even if we can’t we have to keep trying. I believe that's what the scouts were trying to do. Because remember, they actually had a hand in furthering the Rumbling by helping Eren get to Zeke. Aot has always been about making choices that one thinks they will regret the least. They just didn’t wanna regret not stopping an omnicide. The scouts represent what the Survey Corps stands for and what, I hope, we all stand for: fighting against insurmountable odds for even the slightest chance of an unrealistic idealist world. Thank you to Isayama for writing this incredible masterpiece ❤

Yeah, even if we know that we will eventually die, doesn’t mean that we sit and do nothing to try to survive. And just because we try to survive, doesnt mean we cannot find meaning and happiness in seemingly mundane and small things. Just because the nature of the world is full of fighting and wars, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try our best to fight for a peaceful world for everyone.

Like when I realized “how did Mikasa walk ALL the way back to the island with Eren‘s head… and without starving to death?” And the whole part about causing his own mother to die seemed unnecessarily confusing. I loved the ending. I felt like everyone’s story arc was wrapped up beautifully while keeping with the core themes. It was perfectly bittersweet. Everything within the fabric of this story is cyclical, so while the bleak final minutes is deeply depressing, it is completely befitting. With that said, I am incredibly sad about Eren. I lost count of how many times I cried, but his death especially hit hard. Eren is such a heartbreakingly tragic character. All he wanted was to live his life free and yet he was never free a moment in his life. His very free will was nothing but an illusion and his fate was sealed the moment he was born. His journey is devastating from start to finish. To the boy who sought freedom - goodbye. 😢

I was crying since the part when I saw Mikasa's face after everybody said let's kill Eren. Where did it go wrong indeed. The best part of AOT is that it holds almost everything about the world, how humans are greedy, hungry for power, controlled by fear but also pure and innocent. Of course there will always be good and bad, but sometimes it's not as simple as that, sometimes you have to choose to hurt people for the greater good. But is it worth it? Is hurting innocent really worth it? To keep your power, to eliminate what you think is threat, is it really worth it? AOT shows us both sides, and those who literally have nothing to do with the war but lost their lives because they got caught in the middle. This anime is going to be timeless, because I don't think human will ever understand each other and we won't have peace as long as we live. Call me a pessimist but it's the truth?

What an absolutely fantastic finale! Every main character's arc gets rounded out perfectly. Levi fulfills his last order by killing Zeke, absolving himself of the deaths of Erwin and the Scout outriders. He finally embraces the idea that Armin is necessary to save humanity, forgiving himself for picking Armin over Erwin. After everything, his body is broken, and the titan killing tool he had become overextended itself when he killed all of his men, dearest to him in the whole world, in the woods. He now has to live without being that tool, and he is all the more peaceful for it. Zeke, who has scoured his own life in search of any semblance of meaning for his suffering, is confronted with the horrible truth that, in doing so, he neglected the sources for all of his joy. His life's goal, the sterilization of Eldians, had been a dismissal of both any possibility of a joyous future and the Eldian race as a whole. As his last act, he rallies the most terrifying avatars of the Eldian race he hates so much. And in his last moment before dying, he enjoys the simplest of small wonders-the nice weather. Mikasa holds on to the love she has for Eren and her commitment to him, despite his final wish not to do so. And it is through this unfathomable love, this fundamentally unbreakable loyalty to him, that she manages to save him by ending him. The biggest act of love she could ever show him was killing him. It is the final testament to Eren never being able to grasp how her love for him worked. He thought that she needed to let him go to save him, but she would never. And it is through this that she stops the rumbling. Armin's final moments of greatness embody his three main characteristics: his incredible mind, his role as Commander of the Survey Corps, and his devotion to Eren. Through sheer willpower and critical thinking, he not only manifests himself in the paths, but for his last move, he figures out how to come out of there stronger than he was forced to. As the final commander of the Survey Corps, he asks for not just an army of Scouts to lend them their strength but an army of fallen Eldian souls through path-manifested titans. By finally standing up to Eren and proving himself his superior, he gets to see the sights he always wanted. And he finally proclaims himself as Eren's equal by owning up to setting him on his path, even though the legacy he claims is one of genocide. Reiner has always been a shield, forced to be a weapon. His soul commands him to protect those he loves, but his mission dictates that he attack them. It has led to a broken mind, but finally his mission and soul are aligned. He is not charged with killing Eren. His only goal is to protect his comrades while they finish their missions. And at the end of it all, he stands as the shield against the souls of all titans in defense of all of humanity. Eren is a difficult one for me because there's so much going on with him that I do not understand. But one thing that stood out to me is what I feel his story has been all about. He's never been as steadfast as Reiner, as talented as Mikasa, as smart as Armin, as charismatic as Jean, as dangerous as Annie, or as beloved as Connie and Sasha. He's always been average. Average but dedicated, and coincidentally gifted with godlike powers. He is a warning to us all of what happens when ordinary, unremarkable people manage to get lucky enough to be embued with powers they shouldn't have and are willful enough to use them. He is every world leader with a finger on nuclear codes. He is an omen for the end of humanity. An average person with the potential for divine consequences. Jean is more difficult for me. I feel like Jean's primary arc has always been that of someone who despises the idea of responsibility, is drawn to it, is good at it, and is thrust into it. His arc got 2/3 fulfillment from (1) his acceptance of his fate as a Scout, even being proud of it, and (2), after all of these years, finally being the one to end Eren (in his Founding Titan form) and bringing their rivalry to its natural end. I feel like it should've been him instead of Armin who rallied the Marleyans to put down their weapons after the Eldians got turned from titans into humans. It would've signified him taking charge of his people's fate and being prepared to shape the future they would share with the rest of the world. Connie turning into a titan is poetic considering his mother being turned into one was one of the first steps for Eldia to understand the titans. I've never really understood what his character was actually meant to say, though I've loved him greatly. Maybe the role of a normal person among great people. Maybe he is a mirror to Eren in that regard? What choices can an unremarkable person make to become a great one? In any case, him embracing Jean before they turn into titans is absolutely tear-inducing. The ending of this story is both sad, true, and meaningful. While the "heroes" (as Eren calls them) will be able to form a better world from the ashes of the old one, the sacrifice Eren made will never be worth it. War, genocide, and human destruction are cyclical. Even the metaphorical presence of the titans will repeat itself. That, to me, is the great takeaway Isayama intended. No, none of Eren's actions were worth it. It will all happen again. There is no excuse strong enough to justify the destruction of human life.

Very good analysis. Only thing I would add is Jean really highlights the qualities of a great leader. Jean has one of the strongest moral compasses throughout the show. I love what you said about Eren. He literally was just an average person and paralleling that to these leaders that we have now is definitely what's happening currently. I was having a conversation with my bf about political leaders and you literally need no qualifications to get into some of these positions. "Mayor" for example. People just need to know you. From these smaller positions, you can move up to president if you wanted. Trump is another example. No experience in government, but he was president. If recognizing a face and possibly some things they stand for too, is simply all it takes, we don't know who these people really are in these positions. They're just people with power who can do whatever they see is the best outcome. There were other outcomes that could have been more peaceful, but like someone else mentioned in these comments, Eren just wasn't smart enough like Armin to use the powers in a better way. I know he said he tried other outcomes, but without Armin's smarts, those plans failed. That's not a bad thing. In the end, he just did what he thought was best and that's all anyone can ask for.

Whatever Eren was experiencing, we get such a small picture of it, and yet I find it just as haunting. The absolute lack of life he shows in his appearances throughout the last season is so upsetting. Eren is emotional, he is angry, he is the 'soul' of the trio and for the show itself in almost every case up to now, but up until the finale, he is just so vacant. The show does this thing with Eren's eyes, where they show different variations of blues and greens reflective of the scenario. In many of the scenes where Eren appears in season 4 and is the most dead, his eyes are grey to black. One prime example being his altercation with Armin and Mikasa, when he tells Mikasa he has always hated her, all the color is completely gone. I think Eren was just not really present during any of it. Not only is he experiencing a multitude of memories past and present as well as the present, but he is also presumably searching for futures, looking through branches, and trying to find an outcome where things don't turn out like this. Those kind of time loop narratives (even if here, Eren isn't necessarily time traveling) mess me up. The idea of a character going through the same hell over and over trying to find the right choices and save their loved ones, on repeat, but never succeeding, and doing it all alone? If that's really what Eren was experiencing on top of all the other things, it's no wonder he said his mind was messed up. Overall, I think one of the most impactful parts of AoT's overall core, what causes conflict, why these things happen, what people fight for, is shown by its' incredible ability to humanize every 'demon' the story has. Not in a way that justifies what the consequences (or even goals most of the time) of their actions, but in a way that makes you understand why in a visceral way. Because as Armin said, it's never the actions of just one person. I think that's why Eren had to be the final villain, and how the story manages to do that with it's main protagonist. Coming back to this story after years and finally seeing it to the end was something else. When this started I was in middle school. I am very glad I returned after all this time. I think it will sit with me for a long long time. Lately I've been watching many other peoples' reactions and thoughts, which has been really special. There's so many many things to talk about and so many little and big facets to examine. As someone who caught up from episode 1 of your reactions, thanks for sharing your own experiences with all of us.

I can't believe we're already at the end of this AOT journey. It was a very fun time. I just like your reaction because you will give an honest opinion if you don't like it but you word it politely. Also I like the vibe, you guys are not too noisy but also not too quite while watching. Ngl, I feel less lonely too LOL. Please keep it and I hope you don't force any unnatural reaction. I can't wait to watch another anime episodes with you all.

I physically could not hold back my tears during the baby and the cliff scene; all I could think about was my 9 month old being handed off to strangers as her mom and I would fall to our deaths. 😭😭

being handed off to her death with the titans just behind, as if these strangers prolonging her life as their last hope. I wonder if that baby was taken after later :

I started this show when I was 12. There were only six episodes out. Time flies. So grateful for this story. It’s going to be weird not waiting for more of this show for the first time in ten years.

I nearly cried through the whole episode. The depth of the characters…every single one of their stories was meaningful and powerful. MAPPA brought the ending to this story a beautiful conclusion. This story is one of the greatest pieces of fiction. Ever. ❤

I think people kind of forgot about the fact that Eren tried other ways to ensure that Paradis will be left alone without the violence. When he said to Armin that there is no other way, there’s literally no other way. Please remember, they’ve attended a meeting with all the world’s leaders to make a petition but was miserably disappointed as these “leaders” decided that people from Paradis are the “devils” and would not even listen to them. Back then, Eren’s decision of the rumbling became solidified giving “if you are not going to listen to us, I will show you instead” vibes. Also, please remember that he sacrificed himself to make the squad (the “devil” people who opposed to become the devil themselves) be the world’s heroes to give them a chance to be heard around the world. Thus, the squad was on a mission/boat scene with commander Armin. It’s really a subtle detail we often forgot. :) PS. I have binge watch all your reactions and was procrastinating on watching the last episode (as I have with the anime and manga when it was released) because my heart couldn’t take it. Lol I bawled my eyes out so hard. AOT really is the best anime!

AOT is so well-written 😭 the finale really touched my heart, made me cry, made me feel things.... And I never thought I would hear "Call Your Name" by Hiroyuki Sawano as BG music again 😢❤ been listening to it everyday since Season 1❤ just hits different now

too bad it's a mediocre show with mediocre one dimensional bad guys, with the most overused gimmick
