Well that depends. Some of these cars arent ones you can just go buy new ones of. The most expensive of the cars destroyed are limited runs of which so few exist it may be years before another owner decides to sell. And even then they are usualy bespoke to order making each car a 1 of 1
Nah, these cars are customized and fitted from factory to their liking, as well as like the comment said above, limited runs. Goodluck trying to buy another Veneno, they only made 13 of them. Even something like the LaFerrari, there's only 500 of them, buying another is 1, very unlikely you'd be able to find the same spec, 2, if one is on the market, you and everyone else who lost one is now competing for it, and 3, it's gonna be significantly more expensive.
Oh, and in Dubia, it doesn't matter what you have. There's so much wealth, a Bugatti is a dime in dozen. It's about how soon you can get it and having it customized to your characteristics. That's why "Just buy another one" just doesn't work for this scenario.

Apparently all this was down to two factors. 1.) *Cloud seeding* - They were messing with the weather to make it rain more. 2.) *Drainage -* Because the country is so dry, they don't have much of a drainage system for surface water runoff. Combine those two and....😕
It has nothing to do with Cloud seeding. That was sourced some scammers on twitter who want to make us afraid of chemtrails and stuff so we'll buy their "anti chemtrail equipment." The cloud seeding stopped weeks earlier. Plus, the flooding happened where there was no Seeding, we only hear about Dubai because they are rich, poor areas got flooded too.

The skyscraper, Taipei 101 can withstand a earthquake on the Richter scale of 7.3. with no problem. So yes building a place for cars that are on the first, second or third floor is possible, even if they have crazy earthquakes there
“Customers can expect new clauses from the insurance companies”. That shouldn’t even be a thing. When insurance has to do its job they penalize the customers and we act like it’s normal. Insurance is one of the biggest modern day grifts and nobody talks about it.
Just think a moment about how insurances work and why they work. They bet against your insecurities about a certain event to happen in the future and wouldn't do this, if odds are against them. So they simply change the rules for future bets.

They do have excellent infrastructure in Dubai. But what happened over there wasn't normal weather event, it far exceeded what you could expect...infrastructures are designed according to the local context. You don't build super earthquake-proof buildings in a country where earthquake are almost inexistant, and you don't build massive drainage infrastructure in a country where it almost never rains...

@@HFFCANADAcost of building and most importantly maintaining drainage in Dubai far exceeds damage that occured. Their main concern on daily basis is sand not rain, and said sand would clog any kind of drainage in about a month or so. So every few months they would need to clean all that sand out and when they are done it's time to start over, all that to prevent one in 50 years heavy rain, that this time they coursed themselves by accident.

One of the biggest problems with Dubai is that there’s no drainage on the streets as they don’t expect rain ever, they’re in the desert. Every time it rains even a little bit there’s some smaller floods, it was a matter of time before it ran out of hand
The only reason it has been flooding is their cloud-seeding activities. When they built the infrastructure for drainage they weren't messing around with the weather.
That plus it's so dry that when water does fall it doesn't soak into the soil. It has nowhere to go even outside of cities because the dry ground is solid.

While I don't outright feel bad for the owners, I do feel for the cars. Some of those vehicles can not be replaced. Rarity due to age or limited runs, specific customizations, etc. So with enough time, skill, and cash, most can probably be restored, the ones that can't are pieces of automotive ingenuity and history that will forever be lost to either a scrapyard or relegated to a permanently stationary decoration.

If they can actually buy it from the owners, because all the abandoned cars in Dubai can not be purchased. Just like they don't do bankruptcy there, so abandoned what they can't take and leave with what money they could and live a comfortable life in exile.

As of now, there's nothing to support the belief that this flood was caused by cloud seeding. From what I can find, the general consensus amongst meteorologist are other scientists is that the cause of the flood was the result of other man made issues. Namely, climate change.

The storm here in Dubai was extremely harmful, My all 17 cars including the Remac nevara, Aston Martin DB12 and McLaren 750s, got absolutely saved by not existing in this world.
It's total bs because in florida there was a massive flood that flooded the electric car dealership and all the cars caught on fire and they could put out the flames because it's all chemicals burning polluting the air and water

You got it wrong. The insurance probably covers flood because they don’t happen. Insurance companies are not gonna insure you for stuff which is frequent unless you sell them your kids and a kidney.
Extremely common. If you’re in the states, 9/10 homeowners insurance policies don’t offer flood coverage. I sell insurance and most people have no idea what’s in their policy. A 5 minute phone call can clear that up but people aren’t willing to do that. They’d rather wait for disaster and then get angry

That's not the case at all. I live in Dubai since I was born and most rich people here keep changing their cars. Majority of luxury cars u see on the road are pretty recent model years and expensive.
Something tells me that a lot of those cars aren’t insured. If you’re rich enough to afford one, you’re probably rich enough to be your own insurance company.
