Although it's hard to hear in the video, this thing is great! It can do it all, as far as tape emulators go! SAY HELLO down below! I love hearing from you guys! 🔥🧨💪🏽🤠👍🏽🧨🔥
You know…, these little/big details that make a HUGE difference! It looks beautiful and it sounds awesome. Thank you, Maestro! Hugs from super hot 🥵 Italy 🇮🇹
It's much more apparent without the RU-vid compression. If you're looking to warm up your mix this is it! Thanks for dropping inAND thanks for leaving a comment! 🔥🧨💪🏽🤠👍🏽🧨🔥
Right on . Likewise . I find some tape emulation pluguns really are just eq /compressors ….but who doesn’t love a GUI that makes you feel like you have the real thing . The idea that it rounds off some offensive highs sounds promising and the UAD native stuff has been pretty good. Thank you . I’ll check out more of jour videos as well !!!😎☮️
UAD has made partially a good job here but.... they continue to not think till the end on this. Needed are these: A gain match knob! A lowcut filter to leave the lows untouched. A mix knob to adjust wet and dry. and visual feedback with numbers in the eq adjustments. Its ok ok to faithfully recreate old good stuff... i'm with you. But in todays times we should make things better and more usefull. Right now i have to do a lot of tweakin.. parallel processing to get what i want from the Ampex ATR 102. Further the UAD App does have many problems.. doesnt open properly, crashes, does not recognize licenses, with lot of restarts needed. UAD should remove once for all this tedious Ilok system and provide licenses like any other modern manufacturer😊😊
Luckily, I haven't had any of the iLok or crash issues. I hadn't even considered gain, lowcut, mix knob, etc. This will give them some very good upgrades for the future! I came up using the actual machine, so just changed the things I wanted to hear without thinking too hard about it. I'd be happy if they implemented any or all of your ideas, let's hope! Thanks so much for dropping by the channel and leaving a great comment. Means a lot to me! 🔥🧨💪🏽🤠👍🏽🧨🔥
Hey Jon! I've tried quite a few of the tape simulators over the past couple of years, looking for "that" sound. Every one has been WAY to obvious, to the point of me not using them. They almost sound like they are just distortion, the 102 however is much more subtle. To my ear it sounds much closer to what the actual tape machines did, making the whole mix a bit more cohesive, not just added distortion. I'm not sure technically what it's doing but it seems to compress very evenly, making the track sound bigger. The high frequency trick that Marc Daniel Nelson uses, seems like it will be a real help getting highs that aren't piercing or shrill. I guess all I’m saying is, this works as advertised where the others I’ve tried did not. Thanks so much for stopping by AND leaving a comment. It does mean a lot to me! 🔥🧨💪🏽🤠👍🏽🧨🔥
