best trick plays in football of all time Business inquiries - JaydonBusiness1@gmail.com I ALMOST DIED??!! ~-~~-~~~-~~-~ Please watch: "Greatest Football Playoff Catches" • Video ~-~~-~~~-~~-~
I personally feel the hook and lateral by Boise State against Oklahoma in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl, to tie it up with no time left, was really impressive. Followed by the Statue of Liberty play in overtime... great trick plays. Really memorable game to watch.
As a Colts fan, I can verify that onside-kick by the Saints changed the entire flow of that game. It was never going to be one-sided, but the Colts were in the driver's seat at halftime. When the Saints recovered that kick, we never recovered.
Technically, and according to the video, the colts got the ball and were on the ground with possession. According to the rules he was down and in possession when touched by an opposing player. It was stripped after he was down. Just an unbiased opinion from a fan of neither team. Apparently replay does not count on on-side kicks.
@@JoeGator23 Nah...the Colts never established possession. A Saint had his hnad around the ball the same time the Colt player jumped on it...then a Saint dove in and broke it up
@@joemarshall4226 I think colts #81 had both hands on the ball and was touched, therefore down. After that he was mugged because he never pulled the ball to his body.
What’s crazy is when the Steelers did the fake spike, the cowboys somehow managed to get All the way down the field and won. Definitively one of the best regular season games of all time.
2:38 The things that needed to go right for this play to happen are insane. I just realized the guy who ends up catching the ball had to run all the way down the field to catch the ball, then run all the way up to score. Insane stamina
@@lastmanstandingfan4267 what a well thought out anwser. I'm baffled like how did you understand the complex philosophy needed to bring such raw mental power to bear
Honestly wondering why the Bosie State Broncos aren't on this. They used so many trick plays to such a deadly degree to win some big games. For example vs Oklahoma the hook and ladder as well as one of the most beautiful statue of liberty plays of all time.
Morstead (former Saints kicker who nailed the onside kick to open the 2nd half of the super bowl against the colts) played college ball at SMU, my alma mater. Used to see him on the practice field kicking balls into trash cans from the opposite endzone

Coach Jeff Fisher of the Rams was very inventive with trick plays (such as 2:33 ) and stung my Seahawks a few times: In one game Rams had two successful fake punts, the second of which was from their own end zone!
i like the 2nd to last one where they use the personnel change to hide the receiver on the sideline. 10 people came onto the field and 10 left, but 11 went toward the sideline, pretty smart I wonder if you could even pull that off in the NFL without them noticing
Travis kelce, Darrel Williams both in their college days now playing for the chiefs. Both mentioned in this video. The KU player in the end zone and and Albert Wilson fake punt made my day as a person from KC
The LSU fake FG was a pretty amazing call imo. Watch the lineman @ 8:43 this precise play accounted for every person who could stop the Touchdown. Beautiful stuff
The Hook and ladder that they pulled out of no where was also amazing that got them into position for the Statue Of Liberty. I watched that game live. They pulled back to back consecutive trick plays to win
Thanks! Those were really fun! My favorites, though, would be the playing like the punt was to the left, and the real guy receiving it is all the way on the other side of the field. I still can't believe that worked! :). Just beautiful. And the other favorite was the "camouflaged" receiver in the end zone, lying down the turf which was of course same color as his uni. Another beautiful idea. Just wicked!

Everyone has their opinion, but the Stanford-Cal kickoff touchdown run through the band was the greatest of all time. The butt-fumble certainly ranks up there, though.
The Statue of Liberty play Boise State used to beat Oklahoma was the play that made coach Chris Petersen's reputation. No one expected a WAC team to beat Oklahoma. As a result, Chris Peterson is now at The University of Washington where his winning ways have continued and he is now the highest paid coach in the PAC 12. If you thing bowl games do not matter; you know little about college football.

8:48 Welcome to Death Valley. *You walk in the stadium *You get teleported to a valley *You die *No one comes to your funeral *You cry even though you are dead
DiamondWolfStar You notice that too? I'm laughing because I live 20 minutes out from Death Valley, it's actually not a bad place barring a sandstorm, car breakdown, or any visit between March and August lol
but they didn't show that amazing trick play against the patriots where they throw a pic at the end of the super bowl to lose when they had the best running back that could have easily scored... sure did trick me hahaha
Ending this with the butt fumble is the best decision you could have made. I laugh every time I watch it. Fantastic, all the way through. But that ending is a masterpiece of football.
JESUS LOVES YOU. HE is the ONLY and LIVING GOD. He Wants to help you. He is your Savior. If you are tired of everything, pray to Him. He will hear and answer you. HE IS YOUR FATHER....
The triple reverse with a pass at the end to a receiver all alone in the end zone in peewee football when I was ten, they humiliated us. I am still scarred and haunted by the memory!
Evan Gonzalez no. This is the EXACT play. They did not snap it directly to the passer. It was snapped to clement. Who laterelled to burton, who then threw to foles....
Great stuff! Recently, Daniel Faalele, the 6'9", 380 lb. Left Tackle for Minnesota played RB from 2 yds out and bulled his way in for a TD in the Gophers 18-6 Bowl win over West Virginia. Can you say Refrigalele? Good luck in the pros, big guy!
Reasonable assumption. Just as understanding the rules of chess would assist in appreciating a brilliant gambit, or knowing how to play the piano would assist in appreciating the virtuosity of the performance of a Rachmaninoff concerto. You have stated a tautology. And I have commented upon it. I don't know which of us is worse. ;-)

Glad to see that the offside kick that the Saints made in the Super Bowl was one of the trick plays, we made history... enjoyed the LSU ones as well. Sadly the Saints wasn't in this years Super Bowl but I am happy for the Eagles beating the Patriots. The Eagles also had a trick play, when Nick Foles caught that pass for a touchdown... after Brady didn't catch his pass lol
and actually that very trick play the eagles called is inthis video in the clemson game at the 7:37 mark. take a look and compare it. ITS THE SAME GOD DOnG play.

As an old Dolphin's fan I remember the hook and ladder play that the Dolphins ran against San Diego in '83 very well...many years later I read someone's biography (Maybe Strocks?) and it was stated that when Shula called that play the players were like WTF? You have to be kidding us? We haven't run that play since training camp and it has no chance to work....pretty neat how it went for a TD....the genius of Shula.
I was watching this video without sound, because I was listening to some podcast, but 13:03 left me crying from laughter. The infamous BUTT Fumble!!? why?! lol
Bravo! For years, mostly in the Sixties, I only watched the college games, never the pros. Reason: the guys in college (basketball has this too) play like they love the game and trick plays are the pinnacle of this behavior. Besides, even the guys in the booth can be fooled too. More, more, more!

David Parkes interesting season, cowboys have a streak, someone on ESPN says Prescott looks like a young Tom Brady, and he loses to Eli and the Giants twice, oh the irony
It is illegal under rule 9-2-2-b: "No simulated replacements or substitutions may be used to confuse opponents. No tactic associated with substitutes or the substitution process may be used to confuse opponents"
I think that's arguable - they only line up with 10 players in the center of the field; can't tell from the video, but I think they did a full replacement of on-field players. That the defense didn't notice the 11th man is their mistake.

But Seattle is on here even though they're one of the biggest jokes of the 2010s. I mean, they even have their own nicknames for one another, Legion of Whom?
I never understand why there are never more passing plays like this in fiotball... all the times I've seen openings for forward passes... and its NEVER taken
