I'm so happy for Marina. She literally single handedly revived Greek interest for Eurovision this year. 11th place is actually a very good position for the competition. Hope Greece keeps sending strong entries. I want a Greek golden era in the 20s, like in the 00s.
@@twicelandyx because europe doesnt like us not only us but a lot of other countries that send really good songs but juries and the public only votes for the most generic or dumb songs like sweden or the netherlands this year...
@@lefteris9741 That makes no sense, greece had placed very good a lot of times, and everyone sends generic songs at least once... Not always the well placed songs are generic. Europapa is not a generic song, is in dutch something strange in the neteherlands esc songs, and talks about joost kelin (the singer) and his love for europe, have you seen the performance? In the case of sweden, i think the song, the artist, the scenography it's great, maybe it's a little bit generic but it's a great song. To finish, remember that Greece has sent a lot of "generic songs" like in 2021 or 2023
ZARI was one of my favourites this year. The music video is incredible too. Thing is, ESC is becoming both more interesting and more controversial year by year, so I'm looking forward to getting more similar entries.

@@ΙωάννηςΕλ So what? Top 10 or close to 10 results are still very good. If we send something outstanding, it is possible to go top 5. But that's not the whole point of Eurovision. The point to participate, to show that we are here and we send decent entries.
In eurrovision there is a tendency that Greece can be underestimated. If the same song was with Sweden, Ukraine, Italy it would be top5 That is eurovision.
Greece in the 90s was the absolute disaster. We were always out of top 10 😊 Imagine that in Greece there was not even a slight interesting for watching eurovision. We knew our position before the show 😂 as it happens now.

Πιστεύω πως ο τουρισμος στην Ελλαδα εχει αυξηθεί πολύ τα τελευταία χρόνια. Θα μου πεις, τόσο όμορφη χώρα με τόσο μεγάλη παράδοση και τεράστια ιστορία και φυσικές ομορφιές, είναι πολύ λογικό να εχει μεγάλη προσέλευση τουριστών 🇬🇷
Από το Die for you μέχρι τον Αλκαίο, πάρα πολύ ωραίες συμμετοχές και "μύριζαν" Ελλάδα.. Μετά αποφασίσαμε να το παίξουμε αμερικανάκια και καταποντιστήκαμε...με εξαίρεση την Αμάντα που ήταν πάρα πολύ καλή. Το Die for you και η Καλομοίρα έπρεπε να είχαν κερδίσει τον διαγωνισμό, και η "Άνοιξη" να πάρει μια καλύτερη θέση.
Αδερφέ μου νομίζω ότι κανεις ένα μικρό λάθος το 2013 "μυριζε" αρκετά Ελλάδα μιας και παρόλο που είχε επηρεαστεί από βαλκανική μουσική το ελληνικό στοιχείο φαινόταν καθαρά λόγο του Αγάθωνα. Επίσης το 2011 το ζεϊμπέκικο φαίνεται... το 2012 ωστόσο είμασταν για τα πανηγύρια

The same song if participated with Sweden, Italy or Ukraine would be top3. But it was a Greek entry, so it should be 15th in its best place. I do not know why my country still participates.

Do you realize what a lucky 2 years Greece had? In 2004 they win the euros like absolutely no one expected them to, and next year they win Eurovision too.

Seriously underrated entries from Greece: 1976 1991 (should have won that year, it even was the favorite to win before the contest, biggest esc crime ever, 13th place????) 1995 1997 2001 (should have won) 2013 (deserved higher than 6th, maybe even win) 2018 (okay staging and performance were bad but this beast of a song should at least qualify) 2024 (should make it in the top 10) and MANY others were at least a little underrated, basically all the 90s were Greece bringing gems that Europe was then throwing in the trashcan and even some from the 2010s which weren't all that bad really. And unpopular opinion but I think 2004 and 2005 are rare cases of overrated Greek entries. Like I said above, there have been many Greek songs that I would expect Greece to win with more than with My Number One. Still very good though.
@loukaspappas8476 Europe does not want to see Greece as a winner. So they will always press the things as much as they can. Imagine 50 years of participations and they never gave us a 2nd place. Never.

Saying that 1990 was in Zagreb, Croatia is historical revisionism. It should at the very least say Zagreb, Croatia, Yugoslavia. Just because Yugoslavia doesn't exist anymore, doesn't mean that it didn't exist.
Most stupid country in eurovision. Greeks should stop taking place in that competition. They are underrated and they still go there. EPT should wake up and stop.
Aphrodisiac is the best and most joyful song of them all to me. Even after 12 years I still don't understand why it got to number 17, it was completely wrong.
One thing I don't understand about Greeks, is that (Despite Zari being my personal 34th, above Ireland, Finland and Estonia) we were all expecting a top 10 finish this year, but we got 11th. YET GREEKS ARE FOR SOME REASON OBSESSED WITH MARINA SATTI. (Συγγνώμη Έλληνες, αλλά δεν καταλαβαίνω όλο το hype σας...)
