I remember when they were married I was a teen! Loved royalty ever since. A match made in heaven and it lasted for so long at this time and age. Well done Pavlos & MC.
I remember reading about this wedding. There was a great spread about it in People? magazine at the time. Practically all the European royals were there.
She was a Miller. Her older sister and younger sister married well. Older sis Pia married a Getty, younger sis married the son of Diane Furstenberg. Sadly, Marie-Chantal was the only one of the three who didn't divorce her husband.
In times like this, with much destructive force it is so import to pull strength from our culture. Europe has a long tradition of supporting their Kings and the Royal Families. They have so much to offer of their lands culture they know the history of their palaces. The Scandinavian countries model have so much to offer. The people love when they open up their weddings, their beautiful gardens, interesting exhibitions about their antiques and history. Greece you have always had your kings you kingdom, why do you not choose the Scandinavien Model with their openness. It is much more fun to have a King and Queen, the country will be way more happy and all your beautiful castle and parks will again have the "ROYAL TOUCH".
If the great republic of the US did not provide the daughters and heiresses of billionaires, these long traditions would have ended. Try to read the room.
Which is very unlikely. Many greeks are republicans. And Greece at the time was not that unstable as today but still unstable. And many greek kings were in a vendeta with the goverment. Example is 1917. If the royal family wants the monarchy to be restored, they need to do something to prove it and intervente in greek affairs like our crown princess (Margaret) does
@CBA CBA non of the royal families are one race though.... Because they marry prince's and Princesse's from other kingdoms, therefore their children are 50/50 So that doesn't really matter because nor Elizabeth is British, Nor the Tsar was Russian, nor Spains monarch is Spanish.
Ofc… they are not welcome in Greece for almost 6 decades now, but they still call themselves as rulers of Greece 😂😂😂 Want an example of real life leeches, here you go… best example ever
I’m a little upset given that queen of Denmark, is the sister of the queen of Greece, why would you all put her on a bus. How inappropriate. Queen of Denmark is very down to earth, but my goodness, she should have had a car pick her up before Hampton court. The queen of Greece should have done her homework.
It was logistics and this was cleared with Britain's protocol office. Plus, Constantine's family is a deposed royal family in exile. So there are limits to their pomp & pageantry.
She is not queen of Greece!!!!! Greece has no Queen, and she is not even Greek, she is a foreign colonizer thinking she has right to rule Greeks cause her ancestors told her so…
The continental royals do this often surprisingly. Very down to earth. I believe they took a bus to travel to the church for Crown Princess Victoria’s wedding.
Her gown is simple and modest. I am hindu but i love orthodox christanity . It's beautiful to see there wedding, its sad there is no orthodox royal family ruling in the world
A royal family is the immediate family of a king or queen regnant, and sometimes his or her extended family. The term imperial familyappropriately describes the family of an emperor or empress, and the term papal family describes the family of a pope, while the terms baronial family, comital family, ducal family, grand ducal family, or princely family are more appropriate to describe the relatives of a reigning baron, count, duke, grand duke, or prince. However, in common parlance members of any family which reignsby hereditary right are often referred to as royalty or "royals." It is also customary in some circles to refer to the extended relations of a deposed monarch and his or her descendants as a royal family. A dynasty is sometimes referred to as "the House of ...". As of July 2013, there are 26 active sovereign monarchies in the world who rule or reign over 43 countries in all.[1] Members of a royal family The Royal Family of France in classical costume during the reign of Louis XIV. A royal family typically includes the spouse of the reigning monarch, surviving spouses of a deceased monarch, the children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, and paternal cousins of the reigning monarch, as well as their spouses. In some cases, royal family membership may extend to great grandchildren and more distant descendants of a monarch. In certain monarchies where voluntary abdication is the norm, such as the Netherlands, a royal family may also include one or more former monarchs. In certain instances, such as in Canada, the royal family is defined by who holds the styles Majestyand Royal Highness.[2] There is often a distinction between persons of the blood royal and those that marry into the royal family. Under most systems, only persons in the first category are dynasts, that is, potential successors to the throne (unless the member of the latter category is also in line to the throne in their own right, a frequent occurrence in royal families which frequently intermarry). This is not always observed; some monarchies have operated by the principle of jure uxoris. In addition, certain relatives of the monarch (by blood or marriage) possess special privileges and are subject to certain statutes, conventions, or special common law. The precise functions of a royal family vary depending on whether the polity in question is an absolute monarchy, a constitutional monarchy, or somewhere in between. In certain monarchies, such as that found in Saudi Arabia or Kuwait, or in political systems where the monarch actually exercises executive power, such as in Jordan, it is not uncommon for the members of a royal family to hold important government posts or military commands. In most constitutional monarchies, however, members of a royal family perform certain public, social, or ceremonial functions, but refrain from any involvement in electoral politics or the actual governance of the country. The specific composition of royal families varies from country to country, as do the titles and royal and noble styles held by members of the family. The composition of the royal family may be regulated by statute enacted by the legislature (e.g. Spain, the Netherlands, and Japan since 1947), the sovereign's prerogative and common law tradition (e.g. the United Kingdom), or a private house law (e.g., Liechtenstein, the former ruling houses of Bavaria, Prussia, Hanover, etc.). Public statutes, constitutional provisions, or conventions may also regulate the marriages, names, and personal titles of royal family members. The members of a royal family may or may not have a surname or dynastic name (see Royal House). In a constitutional monarchy, when the monarch dies, there is always a law or tradition of succession to the throne that either specifies a formula for identifying the precise order of succession among family members in line to the throne or specifies a process by which a family member is chosen to inherit the crown. Usually in the former case the exact line of hereditary successionamong royal individuals may be identified at any given moment during prior reigns (e.g. United Kingdom, Sark, Nizari Ismailis, Japan, Balobedus, Sweden, Kingdom of Benin) whereas in the latter case the next sovereign may be selected (or changed) only during the reign or shortly after the demise of the immediately preceding monarch (e.g. Cambodia, KwaZulu Natal, Buganda, Saudi Arabia, Swaziland, Yorubaland, The Kingitanga). Some monarchies employ a mix of these selection processes (Malaysia, Monaco, Tonga, Jordan, Morocco), providing for both an identifiable line of succession as well as authority for the monarch, dynasty or other institution to alter the line in specific instances without changing the general law of succession. Some countries have abolishedroyalty altogether, as in post-revolutionary France (finally in 1870) and Russia (1917). Current royal families
The Archbishop of Thyateria and Great Britain Gregorios presided at the Crown Prince's Sacrament of Holy Matrimony. I noticed Metropolitan Joachim of Chalcedon, an Elder See of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, Eastern Orthodoxy's "First Throne" too. The Ecumenical Patriarch sent a representative to the wedding of the Former King od Greece's son. "Crown Them in Glory and Honor" and "Many Years" to them. They currently reside in New York City, U.S.A.
This "royal" family was thrown out of Greece a long time ago. So, What do you do when you're a Poor Royal? You marry a wealthy Commoner. The commoner Brides father is a commoner himself but was worth 300 million at the time. Don't be impressed with them. I mean when you have to marry a regular american to support you....not so royal...giggles. Notice how they have to suck up to the british royals because thats where the power is. powerless, landless and penniless royals marry a vulgar american for $$$$$.
