Just to add some additional meaning / history: HASAPIKO DANCE  The hasapiko, meaning “the butcher's dance” from the Turkish word: kasap “butcher”, is a Greek folk dance from Constantinople. The dance originated in the Middle Ages as a battle mime with swords performed by the Greek butchers, who adopted it from the military of Byzantine era. Probably, like the zembekiko, is a WARRIOR'S Dance to elevate One's Real Spirit in preparation for battle with the baseness of human animal-nature tendencies.

I actually was teaching this dance using the analogy it possibly portrayed a warriors confrontation stance dance before I read this history. Thank you for the confirming historical background. Will use it in my next teach!

@@aghdamlirashad No, the original name of the dance is: Makellarios, which means Butcher The turks later came and used the ARABIC word Kasab which the dance took as well. It is already documented 400 years before turks! 👍

It would be preferable if you filmed it from the other side (back side) so people can see (and follow) your steps in the same direction. As it is now people have to do the opposite of what you do as they are facing you. Just a suggestion! Please do not kill the messenger ! LOL!

460 yıl Osmanlı olarak yaşamışsınız. Osmanlıdan hiç kötülük gördünüzmü. Yunanistan, Osmanlı için bir evlattı. Türkiye Cumhuriyeti için ise bir kardeştir. Türk kardeşlerinizle iyi geçinin. Kendinizide yıpratıyorsunuz. İnsanı ,dostluk ve sevgi yaşatır.Sizden bir ricada bulunacağım. Biz Müslüman Türkler Atinaya sizleri ziyarete gelirsek, ibadetimiz için cami bulamıyoruz. Kapatılan Camilerin hiç olmazsa yarısını açın. Bizi çok sevindirsiniz.

We are not your brothers. We are your Step Fathers. You are the weak sperm that sold your soul to islam & the asian eyed turkic invaders. We will bury all of you when the time comes..remember that well. You are not deserving of any Anatolian Lands, you are mixed with the Barbarians now. We got back the Aegean & made it a Hellenic Lake. Soon we will come for Anatolia as well. We will free you, but we will never accept you. Just remember, you cannot compete with a 5,009 year old dominant civilization. COPE in the meantime 👍

@vasaligiannis9836
@vasaligiannis9836 6 лет назад
Hasaposerviko - does not mean serbian or connection to it.. Serviko in greek means fast..... hasapo serviko butchers dance -its origins are from Constantinople. The dance on this video is a haspiko! Both dances have nothing to do with the serbian kolo dance. That is very distinct and very different.
@vasaligiannis9836
@vasaligiannis9836 6 лет назад
you might be right but in this instance its not serbian.... serbian music is much more balkan in style. This is far from that.... anyway..... people can believe its from mars for all i care.....

It’s not turkish game. Makellarios Dance predates turks in Anatolia. It was called Makellarios Dance which means Butcher. Later named was changed because of turkish influence and their arabic words in their language like Kasab/Kasap! 👍
