This brings back memories...we were there 2 years ago...my favorite Greek island for sure! The best combination of cute villages and beautiful beaches!
Hi Laura & Nicolas. I enjoyed alot your vlog about Paros. Are you very fond of churches? Mother Mary of Paros with the 100 gates is supposed to be one of the most elaborate and magnificent not only in Paros but in whole of Greece. But the one most famous and must see is the Holy Mary of Tinos where tens of thousands of pilgrims visit every 14 of Aygust each year. Apart than this church on this island I had the pure luck to visit a non famous one on the north part of the island on the village of Ano Ysternia and this is St Catherine's church where a couple of shipping tycoons funded it to be build and be decorated with marble sculptures on the temple on the roof and also to the elevated pulpit that priest climbs to by following also a marble staircase. Unique and phenomenal !!!! I named it as Acropolis of all Greek orthodox churches. Apart of this also recommend a small chapel in Peloponesse peninsula near the town of Megalopolis in Arcadia. It's by the village of Vasta , (or Vastas) and it's called St Theodora's ( God's present). This small church has won an entry in the Guiness book of records as the smallest chapel holding 17 trees on top of its roof. Yes you read it correct there are 17 trees on of its roof weighing at least 15 tons and in winter with rain the weight increases at least two tons reaching the spectacular 17 tons or more !!!! I am including a link to see some pictures of it : www.google.com/search?q=%CE%91%CE%B3%CE%B9%CE%B1+%CE%98%CE%B5%CE%BF%CE%B4%CF%8E%CF%81%CE%B1+%CE%B2%CE%B1%CF%83%CF%84%CE%B1+%CE%91%CF%81%CE%BA%CE%B1%CE%B4%CE%B9%CE%B1%CF%82&prmd=imnv&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjsguq42eP8AhVqQvEDHcpNAFUQ_AUoAXoECAIQAQ&biw=414&bih=618&dpr=3 And a comment for Nicholas's first meal. OK octopuss is really excellent not only of seafood but of many other plates. But man it's the very first time in my life to see it served with French fries 😢😢😢. Definitely a ripoff. You should have asked to be served the traditional Milos dish roasted with puree of lentils with a little bit of caper and with lemon juice. Way of superior to that, sorry to say it, plate of trash he was served. Octopus and French fries don't marry at all together.
Not too fond of churches in general, but we definitely appreciate them! We've been invited to Tinos a couple of times but have yet to make it there! Maybe 2023 will be the year! Fingers crossed! Regarding the octopus... We've had it a couple times now on a few different islands and lets just say the quality varies A LOT and sometimes it's hard to predict what will come out of the kitchen! What I've noticed though is that in peak summer a lot of the octopus will be frozen octopus because restaurants just can't keep up with the insane demand. Is that your experinece as well?
Guys, thank You a lot for Your videos! I’ve just found Your channel and have been binge watching it for these couple days ❤️ You are such a lovely couple, and I really like the places You visit and editing is amazing 😍 I will be waiting for more videos from Italy, - Sardinia, Sicily, Como, Liguria and Calabria ❤️❤️❤️
love u guys 😘 I have been kind of stressful recently and u are my motivation when I am unhappy or stressful I just watch ur videos and feel joyful again💕 wish u could be happy and healthy forever☺️
Love this vlog . Honestly watching your Instagram stories when you were in greece made me book my plane ticket and go visit 😍you gave me wanderlust so i thank youuu so much ! I just came back a few days ago so watching this vlog brought back all the good memories .
@@laurandnicolas it was amazing ! Just went for two weeks not long enough but will definitely go back next year and stay longer and visit more islands 😀i went to Ios and Naxos . Highly suggest Naxos !
It’s crazy how a $2 meal over there often tastes better than the average $20 meal here in the US. In my experience even a $50 hotel room in Greece is typically more pleasant than a $500 room over here.
It's so weird seeing your perspective of the island I've grown up in 😆 Great vlog...I was searching for Paros vlogs and came by yours, unfortunately I don't think you came by my village Prodromos I bet you would have liked it! Hope you loved your time here :D
How cool that you grew up there! I don't think we went to Prodromos unfortunately! We absolutely loved Paros and last night we were actually looking at flights to go back with the whole family this summer! Thanks for watching
Great video, guys! I am now choosing between Milos and Paros. Please, advise, what island was better for you and what island is generally cheaper, if to compare them.
@@laurandnicolas Thank you. For beaches try Ionian islands, Lefkada and Kefalonia in particular. Nature and beaches is breathtaking. In this trip we spend first week on Lefkada, it will be our second time there. And then move to Cyclades for the second week (Santorini and Paros).
Hey guys! Great video really enjoyed watching this as we’re spending 12 nights in Naoussa next year. Please can you tell me where I can find that church which you can walk onto the roof? Also the spelling of that village was it Lefkas? Many thanks!
Lucky you! We're officially jealous! The village is named Lefkes! For the church, we wrote a whole blogpost about the best Instagram spots on Paros and how to get there. I'll put the link in the description of the video right now so you can have a look!
Just a suggestion! Greek music is so rich and you can find so many songs with bouzouki in any rythm you like so i dont get it why someone would take time to make a beautiful vlog and put the same music that all vlogers do! If one of the goals is to be differend , than music is a big part of it! The same goes of course with travel vlogsfrom Italy ,Spain etc
Thanks for the feedback! Using music isn’t easy because 99% of the music is copyrighted! That’s why all the creators basically uses the same music over and over again! 🥰
Hey guys! Loving your content. In Paros right now and looking for great places to eat - what was the name of the restaurant you went to in your last shot (the one with the sardines and fried feta)? Thanks!
We were there in August and the weather and water were perfect! Just a little windy bit that’s unavoidable on an island I guess 😅 Thank you for watching ❤️❤️
Tell me you’re a girl, without actually telling me you’re a girl: She’s wearing a different outfit every few seconds AND THATS DEFINITELY ME ON A VACATION, SO I CAN TAKE A LOT OF PICTURES! love from Greece
I get that your first priority is to find A”Instagram “ spots but your just missing everything in between. Your walking by local houses and being loud during the afternoon when most Greeks are sleeping. You don’t seem to respect their churches either. Your running around looking for the money shot and not respecting the Greek culture, religion and people. Also completely wrong about the beaches. There are so many beaches. Instead of going to social media for information about Greece, you should actually explore the island.
Sorry you feel that way! Good point about the churches. I agree we could have done a better job there. You just constantly see other people doing it and it's easy to assume it as 'normal' and do it yourself. Bad judgment on our part. I do however think we did a good job exploring the island. But feel free to think otherwise based on a 20 minute video we made of a week-long stay!
@@laurandnicolas Not to diminish what you're doing, but I have to agree. As a Greek, I was taken aback. These are people's homes and neighborhoods, not to mention Scared sites. I think it's prudent to consider what you are 'teaching' younger generations that are watching your vids. I watch many travel vlogs so this was sadly a bummer to watch. Food for thought. Happy (and respectful) future travels :)
@@daphnesheba i agree.. the part that truly stunned me was when they clearly recognized that someone living in that house places items to keep tourists off their balcony and Nicolas laughs about how it didn’t work. They need to respect Greece along with anywhere else they travel.
@@staycurious644 yes they did, especially when taking pictures at that person’s home, who even put stuff outside to clearly send tourists away… They were disrespecting Greek culture which was rly sad to see. You would think someone who travels this much would have learned how to be more respectful, especially when walking through the local’s neighborhoods :( But everything for the “gram” am I right?
Love it!! Hope you guys had the best time and come back soon!!☺️ I've got a few vlogs from Greece on my channel you could check them out for some must visit destinations!! x
about your coffee oder, Greeks are the inventers of cold coffee as this was a must since 60s with Frappe coffee Greeks use to enjoy cold coffees decades before anyone else , after all those years is in our dna so the people who work on those shops are amazing they know their job very good and their equipment and the cofee mixes are the best so cold coffes here is a truly Greek experience
@@laurandnicolas You guys seem very ignorant to the problems afflicting Greece. You were upset that your neighbours were being loud - now imagine thousands of loud tourists running around your city at all times, being as obnoxious as you were. You wouldn't like it either. I found this video to be very disrespectful.
