Already visited twice this year. First time in Sarti and a walk in Thessaloniki. Last week came back from Sithonia again and a short walk in Drama. In August maybe the Xanthi region, we'll see. Hope to speak the language soon, I was looking for something to complement Duolingo and the other materials I'm using so I'm glad to have found your channel.

We have a love for Greece and are planning to retire to Chania in Crete in around 18 months time. we have had holidays in all areas of Greece for the last 15 years also we got married in Lindos Rhodes in 2009 that is where our love of Greece begun. i hope to learn a little bit of your language but i am finding it very difficult .i am going to go back through all of your videos as i feel you are making it seem a bit easier thank you kindly x

Agree, how on earth can we understand if things are written in Greek? Seems basic to understand that an English speaker who is a beginner will require phonetic translation. Not good.
Dear Elaine, thank you for your comment! The Greek language has its own alphabet and I hope we can't change that. If you are serious with greek, it wouldn't be a big deal to learn it . If not , just listen what i say and use the subtitles! Σ'ευχαριστώ πάρα πολύ!
@@Elaine-tk7nx replay the parts that are hard to understand. This may sound weird, but watch the way she moves her mouth first when she says the phrase. Then try to mimic that yourself. It's much easier than guessing how to sound it out with the subtitles.

Hi! Thank you so much! They have their own dialect , but they definitely understand the greek i speak. I wouldn't recommend you to learn cypriot greek . There is no point!

My grandparents migrated from Thessaloniki (Selanik) to Izmir, Turkey. I have always wanted to learn Greek. I visited Drama, Thessaloniki, Chios. I live in the USA now and I listen to Greek songs (I love Giannis Parios, Helena Paparizou, Despina Vandi, Haris Alexiou), I learn through Duolingo and I've just subscribed to your channel😊❤ What a beautiful country and language! Writing in English because I had an early flight slept very little. I am unfaithful 😅 Today I arrived in magnificent Dubrovnik, in the country of my nation Croatia. Dubrovnik was allegedly first founded by Greek refugees from Epidauros. Staying here for the week. I want to go Greece in September for 2 weeks, but I am not sure yet where. I want to go back to Crete so much but I also want to go Naxos.

Unfortunately greeklish is not a language. Beginners have to learn the Greek alphabet. If not, they can listen what i say and to follow my pronunciation🙂🙂

No, I'm not traveling to Greece,but I'm trying learn Greek to learn all or most of the romance languages that have greek vocabulary that Latin has that was passed to the modern languages. Also, Greek also played a part in Cyrillic letters.
We go back to Rhodos each and every year. I am so happy that I found your channel, I would like to reply in Greek and it is difficult to find apps where you have the prononciation. Efcharistó polý!
