Cucumber can also work. I often make aggourokeftedes (Cucumber fritters), they come up very close to zucchini fritters. One can never go wrong with vegetables and aromatics. As I watched Akis adding that paprika over the yogurt, I immediately wanted to add a pinch of cinnamon, because I find the combination of hot chili and cinnamon very delicious, especially on a savory appetizer. I infuse cinnamon stick and various hot peppers in green greek olive oil. It's heavenly delicious.

Thank you. This is why I am watching your channel. I am here for the best food in the world.. The Greek food. I am French but I have greek family and I used to come every summer for a month to Greece. The food, the country, the people, the landscapes, the culture is so so unique. I fell in love with the country straight away !! Awww ate this fritters in santorini hmmm imma make it !! Thank you for giving us some delicious meal to prepare. @@Egyptologist777 Why would you recommend pretty much the only greek island everyone knows? How about the other few dozens big islands that are as great as Santorini but less worn? Skyros, Samos, Karpathos, I'd even recommend Crete over Santorini and Mykonos.

Akis for Greek tomatomeatballs sliced your two tomatoes to tablespoon or grated to bowl in two big tomatoes , grate to bowl 1 zuchinni , 1 Onion grate to bowl.

That looks really tasty, and I look forward to try this recipe. I have been to several greek islands, but have never seen this dish in a restaurant (only the zuchinni fritters), I guess I must have gone to the wrong places. Or is a dish served mainly on the mainland ?

It's very popular in Santorini and some other islands, but definitely not on all the menus and not as omnipresent and as popular as zucchini fritters.
