Turks call Greeks "Younan" which means the nation that lived before their existing in the area of little Asia! They simply found music and dance folk tradition in the area that became part of their culture.I don't say they don't have music tradition but most of the instruments in Middle East come Hettites,Greeks and Persians existing along with the habit of dancing in circles due to their long long existing!Buzuk or buzuki is the Persian name for the ancient greek instrument pandoura and it is not turkish!Santouri is a persian instrument that is loved in Greece.Most of the dances and music that Turkey claims comes from ancient greek place of Thrace!"Karsi" in ancient greek means the dances that are performed by people across to each other! Belly dance has also it's roots in ancient greek danced called kordax that used to be performed for the grace of Artemis , the goddess of hunting in Peloponnesus and in Aristophanes comedies!I won't speak about the ancient greek and byzantine food recipes!

Reading comments from people surrounding Greece: Dear Turks: no, these dances are not belly dance, cifteteli or anything like horon and other middle eastern dances, to be similar to turkish. There's only one horon (from pontic Greeks) and the rest of dances are nothing like turkish, nor music sounds oriental like Turkish music does, because Greek tradition comes partially from medieval Europe (Byzantium included) and partially modern Europe with little oriental touch. Funny fact is that yoy will never see any turk mentioning similarities with Arabian music, no matters if their music is IDENTICAL to Arabic. Albanians, my favorite part: here in youtube anyone has the ability to search for albanian music and see what it sounds like. And all Albanian songs i listened to, have NOTHING IN COMMON WITH THESE SONGS in this video, maybe excluding a couple of Epirote songs in the middle of this video. Albanian music is not familiar in my ears, it sounds more "stereotypically Balkan" and less Mediterranean, meanwhile rythm is usually slower. Stop repeating the same nonsense under every Greek and Italian video (i recently saw a similar Albanian comment under a south Italian song) , because wearing a black vest over a white shirt and dancing circle dances are things that half of Europe does, it has nothing to do with being Albanian. Fyromians: your music is a hybrid of Slavic and middle eastern, as you didn't have contacts with other people in your history, in contrast to Greece which had 2 centuries less ottoman history and 4 centuries more European history than fyrom

TIL I learnt Turkish / Ottoman music is all "belly dancing music" nor was I aware of how IDENTICAL our music was with Arabs. Are you even aware of the songs we share that doesnt have a fricken doumbok every 2 secs? Have you ever listened to regional traditional folk songs? Ever heard of Stelios Kazantzidis?
@Chris-xb7gm
@Chris-xb7gm 4 года назад
@@attomicchicken stelios kazantzidis, an anatolian person himself has been accused in Greece for translation of middle eastern music to Greek, a music that has absolutely nothing to these songs in the video and any folk song missing. The exactly same way that any regional folk music of turkey has absolutely nothing to do with folk Greek, except for the folk music of middle eastern Greeks: Anatolian Greeks and pontic Greeks. The songs in the video have absolutely nothing in common with turkish. And since you say that your music differs from Arabic, i believe you that some differences may exist but only people from turkey and west asia can understand them, for foreigners like us difference is not understandable

Each Greek will praise the traditions and dances and songs of his own region. My people and me are from Nafpaktia and Kalavryta. So in our house, traditional means Clarino. But not that pathetic sound that comes out of cheap sound monitors in today's Panigyri. I prefer the musicians when they play without electricity. And the best ones come from Epirus. Both Greeks and Albanians have their masters. Those in the comments section who state that this or that is strictly Greek, or strictly Albanian, are idiots..They are COMMON traditions. Stop hating eachother. There is this small restaurant in Vathis square, owned by Albanians. Every other Sunday they put one Clarina. One Sunday as i was walking around what is probably the worst are in Athens city, i heard some slow magnificent Clarino and by my nature, i raised my hands and started yelling Greek words like Oooohhh mana mou! and OPA! And then i see 4 Albanians coming to me with wine, with the exact same ecstasy as me. We danced for the rest of the song together. Then they insisted i sit with them to drink some Tsipouro, another GREAT COMMON tradition. I told them my views about Clarino belonging to all of us. And they ALL agreed. All 4 Albanians.

Man you should stop smoking hash xD, your literally making fun of yourself with those alligations, Arvanites make 1 to 3% of the population and are ethnically Greeks not Albanian as you claim, on the other hand Albanian was mainly populated by Romans, Greeks and Normans in the 12th cenury, I wonder where these guys went, probaply assimilated and passed on their culture to the mountain albanians coming down 2 centuries later
