I’m ex UK parachute regiment, I had the honours of working with the USMC and the rangers. They where every bit as professional as we where. It didn’t take long for the rumours of the US guys being gun hoo to dispel. We had a blast working with these guys and have no hesitation if we where to fight yet another conflict next to these excellent soldiers. Just basically a thanks from a brother across the pond.
@@imbrxds1414 I'm not Airborn qualified but a ton of my brothers are. From what they have told me, there is a shit ton of cardio and more cardio. I can get you in touch with one of my boys for good advice if you'd like. Good luck and God speed brother. I hope you fly through through it ( pardon the pun haha! ).
Its crazy how I'm sitting at home thinking about a fallen green beret operator that I had the privilege to meet and get to know while I was deployed, stumble upon this video and at the end of the video I see his name. RIP SFC Skelt "Tico" Feb 12th 2014. He was defiantly a great man, my mentor and someone I had the honor of saluting when they carried him off the helicopter. RIP to all that have paid the ultimate sacrifice.
I’m sorry this was just kind of put in your face but I’m happy it brought back good memories for you. My heart breaks when I learn we’ve gained a Winged Warrior bc I never got to tell each of them what they mean, still & always, to my family & I. Sir, I’m not going to thank you for your service: we’d be here until we began to rot. Rather, I apologize that you’re one of the many that literally gave up your life to protect your family, your brothers, our country, most of all- my son. You all have been through too much but you’re so driven I know you wouldn’t take it back & I commend you for that. I’ll never understand what all of our beautiful troops went through but I hope that by relaying my message to you, I can articulate how much you mean to us. Not just as our Guardian Angels but back home in your family life. I hope you’re getting everything you need & deserve & I thank God for you, & every single soldier, that hasn’t claimed their wings & are back home where you’re just as much loved & needed in battle! Thank you, again, for devoting your life to ensure my Killa Cam will see his 11th birthday in September. MEGA TONS of support, love, & good vibes from my family to you & yours! ❤️
These guys are the top. No glamour boys, no Seals propaganda,,,these bad asses get it done. Smart, humble, deadly, and true liberators of the oppressed. Top notch. All Respect to the Green Berets.
+majorsmythe1 The SEALs propaganda is because of the Dept of the Navy. They market the fuck out of the SEALs (Hollywood, book deals by former SEALs, you name it). The USMC are no different.
Naw man, it's some SEALs who can't keep their damn mouths shut and the media. The fleet actually fuckin hates those guys, or at least anyone trying out.
Wrong....only a quarter of the blame rests with NAVSPECWARCOM and Dept of the Navy etc. They get mad all the time for former frogs running at the mouth about specifics etc and TTPs every year...whether it be a book or whatever. I see the argument on both sides, but I prefer how JSOC's Army SOF conduct themselves. Not many books, even less movies, no long OPSEC/PERSEC-breaking interviews on radio/online streams etc. TF Green and ODAs rarely have been the source of scandal....They ARE the ideal quiet professional over just about every other branch's SOF and that's saying something.
So everyone knows, those aren't my words. They came from a documentary I saw a handful of months ago. Probably Restrepo or Korengal. I don't remember which, but the words are true regardless of their origin. There's a host of articles coming out now that say millennials are eager to have someone fight ISIS, or whomever, as long as its not them. IDK what will become of our country in the future, but as long as men and women are willing to suit up and do the hard things, I think we'll be alright.
If it wasn't for the men of some ODA teams in 3rd Group i can assure you i would not be here today! It is because of them...that i can continue to live the life i live....As a support guy who became the most bad ass plumber on the face of this earth i thank you guys and wish you nothing but the best. Ricky Bobby is alive and well!!!!........The lessons i learned about myself and the human spirit on both ends, the relationships i got to build with people because of proximity alone, has made me who i am today........Nomads, Anywhere, Anytime!
That last prayer gave me chill .. so professional and most honest prayer I have ever heard...they ask God if they every put on line of someone live they ask God to help them do in code...absolute stunning...
The amount of respect I have for these guys is indescribable. I will always remember the sacrifice men like these make for me , my family, and our country on the daily
It is beyond my comprehension how these men are able to even function in this environment, let alone consistently act with the unbelievable levels of bravery & selflessness. I apologise for that sentence sounding so wordy and stupid. I just don't even know how to put into words how much I admire them. When I watch programs like this, my own life seems so stupid and pointless. And I can barely navigate it. Thank you all for everything you do.
@@bvsd4396 just like everyone has his own story and troubles due to a reality imposed on them, they can be praised if they held up. those poor civilians and villagers who only think about their families safety and feeding does deserve all kinds of praise but those soldiers have no choice either, they are the tools of a system/agenda/goal so most of them could be justified rather than praised as they might not always be in the same thinking with their superiors
@@RAPEDBYBLACKS and yet most of them didn't know the agenda behind the wars, maybe they find out at some point after they get into it, then their decision/actions after that point matters. Not justifiable if they continue to enforce their superiors ideology and worth praising if they have the guts to leave. *That's my opinion with the info i have at this point. Might be narrow perspective so don't judge me😁
Very true but you have get very used to it believe me. When your only worry is do I have enough water in my canteen & enough bullets if needed that’s when you know u are there, I that state of mind.
Michael Are you still in? Also I see your thumbnail. I remember seeing the plate carrier you guys had back then . I'm still trying to figure out why there were jungle camo plate carriers and not desert camo plate carriers .
I was in Afghanistan 09 to 2010 my last Tour and it was by far the worst deployment I lost a lot of brothers that year.. I struggle every day I lock myself in a room and drink and contemplate suicide most days but the things that keep me alive is my family God and my brothers in arms....God bless you all stay safe Rangers lead the way
I want to say first off I am a grown man and shed tears for these men, and for the lost. They depended on Jesus Christ our father. I want and hope its gods will for me to do the job these men are doing, God bless all of you & the men who are in this video, also the men who are still keeping the foreign people safe. Amen to that prayer it may be a year but God knows everyone's heart. Thank you for sharing.
I was in the army in 60's - 70's, thought about trying out for green berets, but chickened out, just didn't think I could make it. Now I will always wonder.
The saying goes, if you think you will fail, you already failed. You have to have the mentality that you will go to the ends of the Earth to reach that goal.
I always wanted to, but guys who were way cooler, way more switched on and way more tough and smarter than me kept coming back failed.....it kinda put me off lol
These guys are so humble and soft spoken. So different from interviews I've seen with SEALs. Look at how one of them restrained that ANA soldier from prisoner abuse at 27:30. Then 1 min later 28:30 BADASS! Respect.
Lol yeah SEAL guys and the tier 1 guys (from what I heard) along with fighter pilots are a bunch of cocky - type A personalities. I guess it's justified with how hard it is they worked to get where they are, when you are in the club, when you earned it, I guess you can be a little cocky lol
+Hercules Trunt well ya!! because asama bin ladin is the president of the United States. and we are under siege and Marshall law, since 09/01/01, wake up armed forces. how did a cruise missile hit the Pentagon??? the United States military. how did the passenger jets get missiles in the noise??, and field with thermite plasma??? why are the police murdering us for expressing our rights???? or for non capital punishment crimes??????. especially when they have tay tazors ???
They grow beards not to assimilate but to look regular. They don't wear uniforms on regular bases. They don't want to be known as special forces. That's why they don't have on current uniform patterns.
Had the honor and privilege to support the Tribe on my last deployment before retiring. Coming from the Navy, I didn't know what to expect. The SF were the most hard core professionals I have lived and worked with. RIP MSG George Bannar.
I had a Green Beret as a Deputy Division Commander. He was a stellar Commanding Officer, makes me almost wish I had gone in the Army instead of the Marine Corps. The biggest difference for me was he was a stickler for ROEs.
I spent a year in Kapisa Province back in 07-08 and ran missions with the SF guys out of FOB Morales Frazier. The hottest area in the province back then was Tagab Valley, even the kids gave you the death stare
This was the best inside look into the green berets. What SFC haddock said at 36 minute mark is spot on. I've never been able to explain it but he summed it up perfect.
The way MSGT Scott was talking...I could feel the emotional weight from everything him and his team have been through. I pray they are all well to this day. DOL
We must respect those great humans that devote their life to serve their country. Instead of enjoying partys and civilian life pleasures, decide to to and train beyond human limits. Seals, Green berets, Rangers..... all of them, God bless them all.
just want to take a moment to thank the Green Beret soldiers on this video and fallen brothers taking the fight to them. may God bless you and your families
This is one American Citizen who HAS kept tabs on your 13 years in Afghanistan. I am damn proud of everything you have done, all you have given and all you have sacrificed along the way. I have a best friend from High School who served as an officer with an ODA, and I am humbled by his experiences. It is an honor to know him and have his friendship. Few people understand what "brotherhood" means (across many service domains), and how difficult it is to leave behind and find commonality with those in a society that is essentially self-serving. If I ever get a chance to pass any of you on the sidewalk I will shake your hand with a grateful heart. God bless you all.
With all sincerity, I thank you all for your service and sacrifice. Thank you for making this video and for sharing your feelings and experiences. I am sorry for your losses. God Bless you guys!
I worked with a SFGB in Somalia, appreciate many years ago. He was a great guy very professional, and willingness to learn new things. I did not give him, the respect he deserved. For that I apologise, my mind was on my job which was very hectic. If any one knows this GB, then please pass on my deepest respect. I was running, a demising project throughout the whole of Somalia. He was the only GB, working with me, and doing this task. Would love to see or hear from him again. 🇬🇧🧑🏻🎨
Dont listen to the Trump idiot, he is the exact problem my countrymen are facing at this time. Ignorance and stupidity. The PEOPLE of America have much respect for the PEOPLE of Russia.
I'm an ole CAG guy started out with 75th Ranger Regiment, 5th Group then CAG. You men of 3rd Group did a fantastic job over there. De Oppresso Liber my brothers!!!!
Did training with these guys at Bliss in 2011. Never met a more professional group of men, also our platoon totally redid our TACSOP with everything we learned from them.
I'm only half way through watching this, but so far this is an awesome video. I don't care what all the youtube comments say, these guys are what makes SF so good.
I have respect for Green Beret's, they trained tribesmen in Vietnam and were a serious thorn in the V.C.s side, they're still a mixture of brains and outstanding soldiering, a rare combination!
They're all child rapists! Everyone knows about the ANAs parties where they dress little boys up as girls and pass them around raping them, but the command ignores it.
Most folks will never understand the intensity of the relationships that are built in battle, or the lost feeling you have when your thrust back into society. At the end when its time to leave everything you know behind and you look back at all the obstetrical you have had to over come just to get you to this point in life you hope to God that all your efforts and the efforts of the brothers that are no longer here were not in vain. GB all the women and men that fight the fight i thank you for all you do and deeply appreciate it.
Very, very well done. I saw this video many months ago. Then the person that posted it went private with it after a couple of days. Really glad to see its back out there. This is why USSF is so important.
These men really make me proud to be an American.like the other commentor said..no glamour, just professional, candid operators.no bullshit.for what its worth, wish I could have served with the green berets.
One thing I think most will agree with is that within SOCOM, the Green Berets have the most combat experience out of all of the SOF units in the SF community. They always have.
They both have been nonstop, 75th with more, but shorter deployments, and SF with annual 6-10 month deployments. There are multiple Bns at group that have deployed every single year since GWOT kicked off. That being said, the Rangers do have the luxury of living on the FOB and letting their guard down at night, that's not afforded to GBs at a VSP.
It’s like Navy seals are masters of the operation and Green Berets are the commanders of the battlefield. I can see each of these green berets being a field commander, creating long term rapport with locals, building a security force and stabilizing a region.
Thanks a lot for the candid views. I wish more people knew of the changes that have occurred due to ISAF operations. It just blows me away that more is not made of the progress of the ANA and other branches have made by the different politicians that visited. Just weird given the effort and sacrifices made.
Reading through the comments I have come to the conclusion that the military is like fantasy football. Everyone on the outside knows they have it all figured out when they really have the slightest clue.
I read these comments, 90% of you never served, yet experts. Comparing Marine Raiders, SF, Rangers. Yet have zero experience or balls. Bunch of whiny millennials arguing over petty things. Grow up boys. Put down the video games. - 0311, Bravo 1/3, 31st MEU 96-00. God bless the heroes who actually man up and protect you kids
Marc Scribner no kidding. I haven't served, but a lot of these comments are ridiculous. "Nayvee Seulz r bettur! Hurr durr!" This coming from a kid who still shits his pants.
Oliver Allen, very well said. Our soldiers are at war, and America is having a coffee. It's just not right. God bless all of our soldiers, and keep you safe. THANK YOU!!!
Army Green Berets are the quiet few, we never quit.....Navy Seals are loud and proud, they love recognition...we Green Berets love each other (fucking team work).....we all have our specialty.....DE OPPRESSO LIBER....(18Bravo)
Ah young warriors, it's good to see the rivalries still exist and are alive and well. But you gotta play by the rules. 1. To get in the club and have the right to talk shit, you have to have earned your SF or Ranger tab, trident, or whatever insignia designates you as a SOF warrior. 2. To have the right to really talk shit, you also have to have combat time. Now you're in the inner circle. But you still have to do it right. a. There must be beer in sufficient quantities available to quench the firey thirsts caused by talkin' shit. b. You must wear a helmet and combat boots, 'cause flying shit can be hazardous. c. Every story must be proceeded with, "This is no shit". If you don't meet at least criterion 1, then you ain't in the club and have no right to talk shit. Now, since I do meet criteria 1 and 2 and am older than snot, I also qualify for the old fart warrior dispensation regarding rules a through c, so...This is no shit. A Marine Corps first sergeant and a Special Forces Team Sergeant were having drinks in the NCO club and discussing in detail the relative strengths and weakenesses of their respective services. To end the discussion, the Marine said to the SFer, "Watch this." He turned to a table full of young Marine sergeants and yelled, "Jones, come here!" A large and sturdy example of Marine Corps junior NCOs jumped up, ran over to the first sergeant, snapped to attention and yelled, "Yes first sergeant!" The first sergeant pointed to the wall of the club and said, "Get through that wall!" The young man, lowered his head and butted the wall until he broke a hole through it and collapsed on the other side, mission accomplished. "Very impressive", commented the team sergeant. He, then, called over to a table where his team was drinking beer, "Hey Smitty, come here a minute, will you." A young, wirey SF sergeant walked over and asked, "What's up top?" The team sergeant replied, "Get through that wall, OK." With that, Smitty walked over to the door, opened it and walked through. He then walked back and asked, "Is that all you need?"
Ed Tolliver the Ranger tab has nothing to do with special operations. Maybe you meant the 75th Ranger Regiment's scroll since the 75th is one component of Army special operations along with the Green Berets, Civil Affairs, and PsyOps. Ranger school is a leadership course. To get into the Ranger Regiment, you have to get selected after completing the 8 weeks of RASP.
Ed Tolliver that was funny but I think the two guys used in the joke should be the Marine corps first sergeant and a SEAL chief, because usually I here of comparisons between the Navy and the Marines with the Navy SEALs being the more intelligent ones. Regardless, good joke!
