This is the only stone I currently use on my Murray Cater neck knife in white #1 steel, Richmond Remedy in 154CM and my Benchmade Griptilian in 154CM steel. It gives a toothy edge that feels like mantis arms grabbing your skin on your fingers during a 3 finger test of sharpness. Excellent edge for anything from tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, fish, steak and daily tasks of cutting up cardboard boxes etc. Unless you plan to carve wood, this should be all the stone you need for EDC and food prep.
I can't comment on any steels other than Hitachi white #1 and 154CM until I get enough time to try & test it on other steels. On these 2 steels however it really shines. A 3 finger test feels like you have syrup on your fingers. They get all sticky on the edge and wont move. The edge gets like praying mantis legs. The teeth are small enough it seems to avoid dulling quickly too. I used my Carter neck knife to cut & breakdown cardboard boxes for a week straight without resharpening. (100+ boxes)
do not touch the tip of the knife. do not swap your grip. do not let your slurry dry out. i cant watch it till the end...you have no idea what you are doing.
