@@andrewlong6438 I'm pretty sure it had 2. Most of their songs have double tracked guitars which help give them their signature sound. Although I'm pretty sure this BBC version is just 1 guitar
Agreed. Would love to hear modern re recordings of the first two albums, but admittedly they'd probably be a bit strange due to the age of the band members now singing about topics like teen romance and sexual frastration 🤣.
@@dragoon1090 whenever I hear them play stuff like who wrote Holden caulfield, Christie road and going to pasalaqua live it just sounds so good with the modern equipment. I'd actually really, really love a re-recorded version of kerplunk. 80 being one of my favourites from that era would just be amazing imo.
I’ve actually heard some people say that dookie was their first album. Until I got Spotify I kind of thought this too. While 39 smooth is an ok album with its amazing moments (imo), kerplunk is such a great, charming album
Recordings like this remind me how iconic and sweet sounding Billie Joe's voice was. Not many punk bands have singers with such nice sounding voices, I wish I was blessed with his vocal chords :)

I've been a fan of Green Day since I was 8 years old. I'm now 26, and a musician myself thanks to their influence. Over the years I've slowly put their music on the back burner and haven't listened as much. I just got burned out. ( pun completely intended) My parents just got me this album on Vinyl, and I am reluctant to open it being an exclusive press. So I thought I'd come here to check it out. These are some of the best cuts of these songs I've ever heard. Completely raw, and unadulterated rock n roll. Reinforced my love for the band. REALITY digging the tracks from Warning in particular. Wish they gave that album more recognition...

@@Scsigs it's honestly sad people can't recognize the "old songs" only sound more gritty or whatever because they were recorded on terrible equipment 💀 Punk rock didn't die, equipment got better.
@@ParadiseDB7 I know, right? Those old recordings from their first 2 albums sound really low quality & compressed because of the quality they were recorded & mixed at. If the master recordings were in better condition, I'd recommend them work with a producer on a remix or something. They stand out as some of the black sheeps of their discography because of this.
@@Scsigs I know Billie has talked about digitizing the old songs to where remastering would be possible before, but said it would destroy the original master copies and he doesn't want that.
Not too hard to see the seeds of brilliance, even at that relatively early stage of their career! Huge shout out to Mike D, the most virtuosic base player I’ve heard in a long time 🤘 Coupled with BJ’s song writing and TC’s crazy drumming - man what an outfit!
Im fine with Green Day just separating all the songs in the setlist to different albums but to actually listen to Cigarettes and Valentines all together would be a blessing.
I love that the LP has a bunch of songs that aren’t played often! They’re some of my favorites!! Definitely just pre-ordered a little early Christmas gift to myself ;)
I've pre ordered it as well because it's a limited edition so there's only going to be ten thousand copies, so it's a good idea to order it early before it's sold out

What i wouldnt give to have classic Green Day concerts like this on Blu-Ray or UHD. I never buy discs but id buy these in a second. (Also, dont forget about Jaded in Chicago).
