Once you throw out a bag of rubbish you tend not to think about what happens to it, but we got to take a look behind the scenes at Green Gorilla; a rubbish sorting facility in south Auckland.
This isn't any ordinary 'tip' though. This one's clean! Everything on site is electric powered, either by a mains connection or by battery power, and that electricity is climate positive. They also have their own DC rapid charging onsite, plus they collect their own rainwater!
Why isn't every business doing this? Saving money and reducing environmental impact go hand in hand, so what Green Gorilla are doing is pretty inspirational!
And if you're keen on tidying up your global footprint, come and join us at Ecotricity, which is now New Zealand's only climate positive electricity provider! That means by switching today, you're actually turning back the clock on Climate Change, while saving money in the process.
Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, it's not! Ecotricity is real, with really affordable electricity, thanks to it being purely renewable.
Head to www.ecotricity.co.nz and chuck in your address to see how much money & carbon you can save right now. It's that easy and it makes a real, positive difference for the next generation.

I'd bet, because I know it's true in Norway courtesy of TB, electric heavy machines will have a additional advantage of being able to work longer hours in built-up areas due to being quieter. So surely this new government is going to get productivity going by incentivising electric heavy machinery. Eight Billion dollars kiwi, $8,000,000,000 nzd per year. We give to authoritarian petrostates including the Kremlin by burning fossil fuels in Aotearoa.

Great to see new tech cleaning up old rubbish. And I love the lack of noise and the staff not needing to wear ear defenders.
