I usually see this deck playing half Supernovas + half Donquixote (so you can run two seekers instead of just the 1-cost Bonney), and I would say the only card I always miss in that version is Izou... not being able to rest or destroy any character on your turn is a pretty big deal if your opponent plays a couple of blockers in the last turns (well, you have Hody Jones, but it's just one card and you can't even search for it).
This game needs more bans. 8c Kidd, 10c Ace, 10 Linlin, 8c Gecko Moria, and 3c Black Maria in OP08 needs to be severely limited or outright banned. 8c Kidd: One card shouldn't allow you to turn a whole game around and stall in a deck color that already runs a lot of powerful blockers. This makes any color running fortress builds just too powerful and the only counter is Black removal but due to Rosinante, you can't remove kid in one go unless you remove Rosinante. Now with black they do get large bodies on the field a lot but will just get frozen by 10c Doffy immediately after trying to attack into the kidd. I feel like Green has been getting a lot of strong cards lately and the focus is on defense, resting, and freezing and 8c Kidd makes the playstyle too safe. This will allow Red and Blue to flourish more which is what the meta needs. 10c Ace: Too strong in Enel. Gaining life while rushing 10k is very braindead and combined with Enel makes Enel always have to take 3 hits qnd you can play him back to back and crash into opponents cards and put them into a cycle. If you don't attack then he will get up to three life and thus take 4 hits. 10 Linlin: you shouldnt be able to regen life and trash life for free. That defeats the purpose of the game and is bad game design. Let alone the card being a 12k monster. Gecko Moria: Too much value and fills the board very fast. I love the combos you can do with it but i do admit that Gecko is a bit obnoxious. Definitely if they have a 2 limit rule to this card, it would be better for the game as a whole. 3c Black Maria (OP08): This card makes R/P Law tier 0. It completely fixes law's low don issue and makes the deck have 0 weaknesses while being a 2k counter. This means that Law can remove, go wide, play rushers, play blockers, ramp easily, counter easily due to the sheer amount of 2k counters in the deck (Sanji, black maria, sachi & penguin, otama) and remove characters realy easily while putting them at the bottom of the deck, thus countering Black's trash recycling tactics. It is more braindead than B/U Sakazuki.
This deck is a lot of fun, but unfortunately the current meta game doesn't allow players to actually have fun unless you play Bandai's golden child that is black decks or RP Law. Thank you Bandai for killing all of my joy of the One Piece Card Game by allowing 1 color to ruin the entire meta for 4 sets in a row!
4 sets??? I’ll give you op5 and op06, but black was trash before Rebecca. And Rebecca was an extremely specific archetype that didn’t really allow much flexibility at her debut. What other sets did black ruin? I ask as a black player who has played (navy) black since op02, and off-meta black at that (until Sakazuki)
