Camped here in 1974 for 3 months and surfed Green Island lefts mostly every day during the week with no one else out..heaven..magic memories..I used to look forward to weekends to have someone to surf with..spoilt eh..the good old days are true..tip.keep on surfing
Not long you Jump off the rocks it takes about the usual for a point break 5 or so minutes. There is way more Dolphins and Whales there than sharks unless with the increase of people there now lots of waste is going into the water to attract sharks I never saw a shark there in 10 years. In the 70's to late 80's.
Hate to blow what some might think is a secret but I surfed it when there was hardly any Houses in the 70's and early 80s, we used to camp at Bendalong Beach Caravan Park around the corner. It is at the end of lake Conjola near Ulludalla, South Coast NSW. It is not powerful and the swell had too much east this day straight south swells with North West winds it is not an easy break to get good. Straight South swells wrap around and line up better, not much good in North swells. It has not the punch of Black Rock or other South Coast spots. It is a great wave for fun, not deep barrels.
