I was 7 when my dad showed this to me. I remember I asked my mom if I could show it to my class because we were reading The Three Little Pigs and she said no. I was very sad
Haha I can relate to this, I was 8 when my dad showed me this, I downloaded the video on my mp4 player and watched it over and over. None of my friends found it as amusing as I did... Such a shame😂
@CYRUS DAWSON I was introduced to metal when I was 12 also but it was from metallica and slipknot. I am now into death and heavy metal now but i occasionally listen to goofy songs like this lol
Same thing happend to me just few moments ago, after a 30 years oblivion here it is. In my few memories I had very poor clues and in my research I found this creepier one... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-j-qQ_brIsfY.html
Recently hosted grand son ( 19) for his vacation and introduced him to John Prine, " Big Door Prize " . I was like: oh yeah! I luv this song then was kinda embarrassed over some of the words... with my gr.son! But turns out: he luvs it too. His mom thinks it's funny. His other granny is kinda straight laced. Variety is good. Rock on woman!
@@Paislywalls4767 I love introducing my grandchild to all kinds of music. Last night she fell asleep in my arms dancing to Otis Redding. Coco melon is killing me. I like Prine, when the day is done is a good tune.
My dad had me listening to this when it came out in the 90's and now as a 35yo dad I have my little girl listening to it. She's 4 and says "daddy I wanna listen to little pigs!" Or "daddy I wanna listen to rock concert"(lamb of god)
My 2 girls are similar, one actually decided to ask if it was OK to put her playlist on. 'Sorry dad, it's all Halestorm......' Ah, I think that's OK little one. Raising them right.
+xoen6 Some people will never realize this. They let nostalgia cloud their judgement. Complaining about MTV sucking now is like complaining that Blockbuster sucks now.
I remember catching this on MTV back in the day, I was 9 or 10 and thought this was the absolutely funniest thing i'd ever seen. Still holds up all these years later, I forgot how good the actually music is
Lol. My 6 year old neice and 2 year old nephew ask to watch this video all the time. They love it too! I say it can't be as bad as some of these trashy kids shows these days.
they never stopped. god damn, people love to glorify the past. people have always made intentionally shitty music and many still do. its even worse in many cases
I remember that I was like, 6 or so when my dad played this song in a party and I even saw the video. I was scarred for life but I also loved it. Strange feeling.
Yeah you can say that again I've haven't heard this song when i was 7 only heard it once and could never remember who did this song 30 years later good old RU-vid
Oh, I see. Mr. Nugent isn’t very famous in Germany, so I don’t know him. Watched the video on MTV and can’t understand the refrain also. Internet doesn’t exist at this time. 😅
@@larssievering5705 It's a play on words kind of thing... Instead of his dad's name being Ted Nugent, the famous musician, he's named "Pig Nugent" in the fictitious Three Little Pigs world. Green Jellö was just having fun and put a twist on the name. 😊
My dad showed me this when I was younger. Passed away last year. I'll make sure to pass it along whenever I have kids. I'd like to think hes out there somewhere riding in his 1975 oldsmobile in the sky with this song blaring.
They were originally called Green Jello. Then they got sued by Jello. Ended up changing the band name to Green Jelly. This song still remained. As it should.
I have cereal killer on cd that I found on ebay with the green jello still on it. Originally I owned my first recording of the most awesome puppet show ever on cassette that I wore out on my sony walkman if that gives any indication of how long this has been around. I feal sad for those that have never had the pleasure of tuccan son of sam in the title track or anarchy in bedrock twitch twitch ....f@#& I love this most holy of audio and video(which it was released as first) back when mtv played music in lieu of pregnant trailer park teenagers in all their glory...I do not come across many know much more than little pig if any at all...it's nice to see that I am not alone in my love for these imho ,creative, genius gods of metal. Having said that this is the only album I know of if there is more from them I seriously dropped the ball this...
@@Vladdamyre with all due respect, you are incorrect. This band was sued for their name and copyright infringement by kraft foods inc in 1992. I bought this album in a PX store on a little American military post in Germany back in the day. After that I was stationed near Seattle. That was a great time in my life.
LA was an amazing place in the late 1980's and early 1990's. Got to see Green JELLO, Failure, RATM, Tool, Jane's Addiction and so many other amazing LA bands.
This has to be one of the most catchy guitar riffs in history. I still catch myself humming this tune when every I'm stressed, bored, concentrating or just chilling.
@@parker469a I hadn't heard of that song, so I looked it up. Yeah, it's pretty sweet. Thanks for the suggestion. Green Jelly is a nostalgic classic for me. It came out when i was in the 8th grade around the time ugly kid Joe's cats in the cradle and primus' my name is mud were released on MTV. Those were the days - hitting up the skate park, and the arcades.
When you actually dined in at pizza hut now it's either carry out or delivery least here in my town it is, I'm assuming it's not much different anywhere else!?!
Seeing all the comments about people remembering their dads showing them this as kids. I remember, and now I am that dad showing this to my kids feeling nostalgic as hell
when i was 12 i just came upon this song and holy crap i thought it was the best 90s song ever other than like a million other songs but its up there for the wacky comedic pig thing
i don't have kids nor did my folks show this to me at all but my brother used to own the single on cassette i have that around here somewhere. i watched the shit out of this video back in 93 and i never did hear anything from Green Jelly after this one had it's time in the sun
Fun fact to those who don’t know, Danny Carey and Maynard James Keenan from Tool are both in this song. Danny is (obviously) playing the drums and Maynard is singing backup vocals (he does the “not by the hair of my chinny, chin, chin!” part, and also played guitar). They both played live and recorded with Green Jellÿ from 1990-1993, before forming Tool with guitarist Adam Jones from 1993-now. **EDIT**: they actually formed Tool in 1990, but didn’t get their big start until 1993, so Green Jellÿ was one of their things before 1993 as Tool was gradually progressing through recording their first EP in 1992 and their first album in 1993.
Yeah just found out it's Maynard, had to come back and listen😂 so funny I'm a huge tool fan but had no clue of the connection. I wonder how many rabid tool fans have ever even heard this song lol (btw I'm not bashing on this song, it's great... Just not super well known)
@@colestowing8695 I actually heard this song way before I knew of anything about Tool (I’ve only heard of them at that point) and it was cool seeing the connection afterwards
@@jakedc6 yea, 100%. It's just blowing my mind that in some weird alternate universe danny carey and maynard stayed with green jelly and tool never became a thing. thank god it didnt happen that way here😁
i’m 42 and love this song as much as i did listening to the tape on my walkman delivering papers. so heavy and so fucking awesome. now my little guys ask for it 3 or 4 times a day
I remember being 7 years old at my grandma's house and seeing this really late at night. For the next eight years I thought it was a fever dream I had and not an actual music video I saw.
i though the Same with the first chapter of Stargate Sg1, i watched it when i was little and always thought it was a dream i had, then, i saw it and it was like OMFG IT IS REAL!!!!
Fun fact: James-Halliwell Philips heard this song, and loved it. So much infact, he decided to right a child friendly version for his family that we now know as the classic children's story.
I'm thirteen and my parents are 90's kids, and they showed me this when i was like 6, instantly became my favorite version of three little pigs. i love this to death!
By the looks of these comments?? Yes! These Bible thumping goody two shoes in effect got at least 3 generations of smaller younger children exposed to nursery rhymes & 3 little pigs as gateway labeled porn rock instead of letting real musicians and songwriters have the opportunities they used to!!
That's why twerking to lyrics about pussy & bitches & hos & bullets are exactly the same unchallenging crap!! And socially relevant material for our times (like 1968! Civil rights, diversity, women's freedom ALL taken away in a climate of "gimme sum pussay! Gimme sumdik!")
Hello officers? A big black wolf is trying to blow my house in. My location? West Hollywood. Oh you have someone already on the way? Thanks. Hey watch it, I think that guy is armed and dangerous. Later... "Tonight on TMZ!"
I remember riding in my dad's truck listening to this on tape, back when the label still said Green Jello. I was maybe all of 6 or 7 at the time and it was the first really heavy guitar riff that blessed my ears. Dad passed last year but hearing this really takes me back to some great days hanging out with him.
Same!! Did you have The Box?? You could call in and request videos for 99 cents for 3, I think. I'd request this one, Mom was not happy when the phone bill came. I called a lot!!
I was born in 2013, and my dad showed me this when i was 3 and i loved it. Its so weird how something so funny can stick for years they sent RAMBOOOOOO
My wife and I just started reading our 3 year old this story and we both were like "He needs to see this video!!" so today we are gonna put it on for him. Parents of the year awards, lol
I remember my mom showing this video after just listening to it on CD and it becomes my favorite song, then I saw this, got traumatized and as a kid thought it was real blood lol, now I'm 20 and enjoying it again
I showed this to my fifteen year old on the weekend and she thought it was dumb. She just texted me and said “not by the hair of my chinny chin chin”. Mission accomplished.
Just so you know--I haven't had this song in my head since MTV actually had to do with music...until some reactor reminded me of it. Kudos to whomever is responsible for keeping the copyright police on a leash.
That's amazing parenting♡! You will enjoy it years later down the line , when you can trust ur kids to have great bands on their playlists. It's how it was with mine at that age now their 21, 17 ,13,& 11 and keep better collections of my Era music than I do . Something you can look forward to w urs !!!
