I had the same feelings on this run. I knew very little about Green Lantern, I’d never read a single issue of the character before. I blind bought this and loved it. One of the best runs I’ve ever read.

It funny mike the same exact thing happened to me, I had no knowledge of green lantern at all nothing, my local comic shop owner recommended this run to me and I absolutely fell in love!! It’s so good! Love the reviews man

So glad I found your video , I made an impulse buy and got all 3 omnibuses, and was afraid I made a bad choice cause I’m new to green lantern but I trust you when you say it’s a good jumping off point
I'm late to this but I just ordered all three volumes. I'm not going to say I hold you responsible but I will say you were the final push. I have a feeling that I'll love it as I really adored his Aqua Man and even liked his Teen Titans (though that was held back a bit by the stories that were interrupted by one of those e damn Crisis events). Loved Geoff Johns run! I was a big fan of Ron Marz's run back in the 90s with Kyle Rayner as main GL but I gotta say Johns did an amazing job of reconciling the whole Parallax affair. He totally redeemed Hal Jordan in my eyes. I really hope Johns one day returns to GL for some project hopefully with Ivan Reis on art because Reis" art was nothing short of spectacular! Thoroughly enjoyed your review!
It'd definitely be great to see them both back on this series at some point, even just for some kind of one off special story. Reis' art is the definitive Green Lantern art style for me, no doubt. Thanks for watching!
Does anyone know if the blackest night omnibus has the same meterial as green lantern vol 2 omnibus?,im getting the first volume and I wanna know if I buy blackest night if I would double dip with vol 2?
There'd be some double dipping, Green Lantern Vol 2 contains the main Blackest Night series and the relevant Green Lantern issues that ran alongside it so you basically get the main 'core' story there. The Blackest Night Omnibus collects all of that plus everything else related to the event including the Green Lantern Corps issues and crossover issues from many other series from the time.
I mean if you just want the main and major bits of The Blackest Night storyline get Vol 2 The Blackest Night Omni collects the tie in issues like for example The Flash BN 1-3, Batman 1-3, JSA 1-3 ect. I’d still get it though because those story’s are awesome
just finished the first omnibus, my god that last third with the war was amazing, diving into the second omnibus, can't wait to read the blackest night
yeah the part where parallax swallowed kyle and hal, and both were inside talking about the hardships they went through and when they got out and hal said light em up with john kyle and guy side by side saying "in brightest day...." i fucking teared up, the build up to that moment wasa amazing!@@TheComicBookTrove
Definitely an epic moment! I think basically everything in volumes 1 and 2 in particular is really excellent. Volume 3 is a little weaker but that's only because the omnibus unfortunately doesn't collect certain issues that I think makes the final couple of story arcs feel incomplete when read that way. I think I talked about that in my review of that book anyway
I bought omnibus of green lantern🎉 i have a question i saw some reviews that say GLC by Tomasi/Gleason is better than johns run?? And this one is necessary to read together with johns run? I heard cause they complete each others i heard,what do u think?
You can read this run without having to read GLC, there's some crossovers between them at times but this is really Hal Jordan's story. GLC just happens to also be really good and shows what a lot of other characters in the corps are doing during this time so in a sense you get the complete green lantern picture by reading both
Hey so quick question… I just received volume 1 and I am very excited to dive into this great character! I’m going in with just very basic knowledge and want to truly learn what Green Lantern is all about. Can I read this straight through from page 1 to the end, or should I read the Rebirth series within the omnibus first? Just a little confused as to how I should proceed.
You can read it from the beginning to end from volume 1 to the end of 3, you don't need to jump around different points in the book back and forth or anything like that
I'd say you're fine to start with this, that's what I did and pretty sure a lot of people will have used this run as the starting point for the character
Sill question. All these omnibus cover I’ve seen have the old DC logo. Like the one on you third omnibus there. But how do I get the ones with the new logo like your 1&2 omnibus
Well I would imagine any of these that you buy new now would have the newest logo, but as these books are ones that DC kinda 'stealth' reprinted to keep stock up, there might still be new copies around with the old logo too

boy first volumes a book and number 2s a bit weel but they pick up the pace again in volume 3 and deliver an apic but volume 1 is epic an absolute epic
I like Flashpoint, it's a good event overall, but I'd say go for Green Lantern because that run is just one of the best I've read on any character/series
@@dinjoDJ in my experience most DC omnis have quite tight binding compared to Marvel ones, they rarely lay flat on their own from the beginning and need to be held open a lot. Not a big problem or anything but that's how I've always found it to be
