Because most writers suck when it comes to consistency and writing story where you have dozens of buggers requires constant nerfs. Same thing as people forgetting that Superman is almost as fast as Flash so all those clever traps they keep him falling for just wouldn't work on dude who can move and reasc faster then light.

Notice how the lantern wasnt human. Humans have the strongest tether to the emotional spectrum.

I just watched the movie yesterday ... in the briefing is not indicated that the enemy was a member of Green Lantern corps. But about the " Guardian's race"? Is that data based on a comic magazine?

Unless you've been a member of a group training for Actual Combat, then you wouldn't understand. You sweat and bleed in Training so you hopefully Don't Die in Combat. And Yes, it is Harsh... But It Works.

​@@efaristi9737 Yes it often is. The harsher the conditions you are training for the harsher the training. And Lanterns must be able to fight in any biome from volcano to ocean trench to void of scape, often facing entire fleets and armies or planetary+ levels of threats. And on top of that you are using weapon whose potency is directly linked to your emotional state, something shocks you or surprises, you hesitate not sure if you can deal with it and you die. And if you die while in a group with other Lanterns, guess what. You just contributed to the demise of your comrades and especially friends. Why especially friends? Because seeing people die next to you is something you can't just completely filter our without becoming a sociopath and closer you were the worse it will impact you. That's why they sometimes drop like flies. So it's not only your life drills are trying to protect, but also lives of your comrades and people you are supposed to protect. So yeah, no one cares your knickers got in the twist because someone yelled at you and you are scrubbing toilettes for next month. No powers allowed.

@@jankostrhun8725 Welln not every lantern seems to be using that kind of training so i still question the necessity of it. As far as i know, Hal didn't have to go through a volcano or a raging river without ring and he did just fine.

Is it necessary to give anything but a basic or just theoretical training to any soldier or law enforces? Well no, they can still technically fill in a position. It's just really bad idea. It depends how much collateral damage and attrition rate I guess. A] Hal was a career soldier and Killowog was still a hard ass. He was literally hailed as best of Lanterns so just because he needed less training is a non-factor when your training group can also include a myopic clerk or a pacifist doctor who can barely make a fist. B] ASFIK no one got killed. It's almost as having a veteran with a tool that can generate force field and create literally anything you can think of is pretty damn good safety net. Maybe the point wasn't to find out if they are heat resistant but build up mental and physical fortitude so, again, they don't fucking die because something they were unprepared for made them panic. And while Rings choose their bearers, Corps is voluntary. You can generally leave. So purpose of the training isn't just to prepare you for the tough battles and teaches you a proper discipline it also weeds out people who are in military jargon referred as "a fucking pussy" . So you either finish training or leave before you get into situation where your ineptitude can cost you your life or forces someone else to pick up a tab. Yeah I also don't think that hiking in a active volcano is a great time but that's kinda the point.
